PETITION TO KEEP ANIMATED ALIVE

http://petitionspot.com/petitions/TransformersAnimated

Sorry if this is old news by now, but I thought it was worth mentioning, since there are so many fans here. I saw this petition, and I'm reposting the link to as many places as I can, since I'm a fan of the Transformers Animated series.

Even if you don't absolutely love it, I'd appreciate it if people would sign the petition in solidarity with fans who do like it.

Thank you.

That's the looney thing. According to "sources" (And I use the term loosely), Hasbro's issued a May 29th recall on all Animated product from retails, which will then be destroyed.

Seriously, all it takes is two brain cells to realize it's nothing more then pure and utter cow fecal matter.

Hiya, CP, long time no see!

i'm not sure what you're saying, Rust...

1) it's crap that TF:Animated is ending; or

2) it's crap that Hasbro is destroying the Animated product line; or

3) something else? :lol

Rust is keeping a far more level and realistic head than most of us (TF Fans) are.

There have been crazy rumors for about a week now that Target and Walmart are pulling everything TFA from the shelves, and that Season 3 is the last Season for the show.

I went to Target this weekend to see for myself, and this is what I noticed.

Not ALL of the Transformers Animated pegs are marked cancelled. In fact, it's a mixture of Universe and Animated that have the 'silver sticker' on them. (The silver dot means something akin to 'this item is discontinued')

What it REALLY looks like to me is that:

a.) Target/Walmart are clearing room in the Transformer Section for Transformer ROTF toys, by marking certain PEGS as discontinued, though there are still pegs for every other size class in both Animated and Universe still available, that have not been marked.

b.) Hasbro is doing exactly what they said, and laying off the other lines for the large part until AFTER the movie hubub dies down.

c.) As Rust pointed out in OSB, Hasbro pushed the Animated releases too close to the Movie releases and are now realizing that and therefore shifting some pieces into other lines so that they may be released quicker within their 'projected' continuance plan during the movie.

d.) Also as Rust said in OSB, we still have absolutely no proof that season 3 is the end. In fact, it would be bizarre if Season 4 were greenlit yet, or even will be greenlit until the fall if it is being considered.

e.) Maybe we (TransFans) should all just chill.

A little bit of all three, but most specifically regarding the rumor that Hasbro would willingly refund retailers for product that's already been paid for, and then go dig a hole somewhere and dump it all into it.

Especially since for the past several years, Hasbro has been repackaging excess stock under the "Universe" motiff and selling it to discount retailers like Dollar General and Big Lots.

So the concept that they'd willingly destroy Animated stock flies in the face of their viable business model. Also the fact Toy plastic cannot be recycled like other plastics just makes it insanity for anyone to believe such rubbish.

~shrug~ what you guys are saying makes sense, but i see no downside to supporting a petition, just in case it might help to show the fandom is large and active. do you?

Hasbro's aware of the size of the fandom these days. Hell, a lot of the fandom is directly involved with Transformers as a brand.

The only thing I see this petition really doing is giving Hasbro the warm fuzzies. Ever since Beast Wars ended, they haven't exactly hit a home run with the fandom the way Animated has (Oh sure there are haters, but they have no soul. :P).

And, on the opposite side of the coin, if Animated is to end (Which it will, eventually), I'd rather it end on a high note rather then be artificially dragged out due to fan demand only to watch the quality sink into the mire as time wore on.

Though preferably after Hasbro's gotten around to releasing a Supreme Animated Omega Supreme.

EDIT: Also, Corey Burton is definitely a keeper as Megatron. And David Kaye doesn't do a bad job as Optimus Prime either. Though I'd still like Neil Kaplan to be invited back, I know he was doing a "Peter Cullen Impression" for his Optimus but I always thought Neil got a bum wrap.

But Corey Burton as Megatron from now until the end of days. THIS I COMMAND!
