Okay, since I'll need some time, I was working on it over the weekend and it was making me rather sad. One effect would work, but then when I added another variable, nothing would work. Then nothing would bake, and, lets just say I was getting really sad. But I will figure it out.

Okay, I haven't looked at it in a couple days, but I can say this. My spring break starts this Friday and goes for a week. So, next week I will have plenty of time to work on it and finish it. If I don't finish it by the end of my spring break, well... then there is probably a very large chance that I will never finish it. But I do believe that I will finish it by then.

Well I'm sure I that you can finish it. I'm really hoping that you'll be able to get it done. Thanks for all the effort you've already put in to it. Thanks dude. Later man. |

Since I am on break, I have all day to dedicate to finishing this, (except for a couple hours when I go bowling later today ) I hope I can figure out the effect today, and if I can I want to get the actual text tutorial done by Thursday. Just don't hold me to it.

Look, I've been trying to do it, but truth be told, I just can't. My computer can't handle all the fluid calculations. Also, nothing seems to be going right. Fluids are very hard to make work correctly. In order to make your effect, you could always just use mesh/meta balls and then use a really good texture. I'm sorry, I really wanted to figure this out, but as soon as I get one thing working correctly, a problem I've never had before appears. So, if you want, I'm posting the blend file to show what I got so far. Each file will show my progress, tut.blend is the oldest with the very basics, and tut5.blend is the newest. |

Oh it's ok I understand. I of course wish it had worked out but I do really appreciate all that you did. I don't know very much about blender so I can't really do much with those files but I'll try. Thanks again so much for everything!

ok so I downloaded the last file that you have there. Is there anyway you could go ahead and write that tutorial out anyways, even though you didn't get to actually finish it. Just so that I know how to do the fluid simulation and the water displacement thing. Even though you said you weren't able to do everything that's ok because if I could just know how to do it a little at a time then later on in after affects I can merge them all together so that they look like they are all part of one scene. I am thinking that doing it in parts rather than as a whole may make it easier. Do you think you could try doing it that way. I know I'm being pretty persistant but that's only because I have wanted to know how to do this for a VERY long time. You yourself said you don't like starting something and not finishing it, so mabey this way will let both of us be happy and will be easier on your computer and possibley cut out some of the problems you were encountering. I am begging here lol! Anyways, let me know what you think about my new proposal. |

I ran out of room. And hey if you are running across something that is causing you problems than just get rid of it. Like if doing the white crests like waves is causing problems dump it. Or if the having it pour water out and not getting any smaller thing is too difficult than drop that too. I can just make my scene shorter or the ball of water bigger to give me more time. In a perfect world that would be something that could be kept but hey I'm happy with just getting a working deal and a good tut than having everything perfect, you know? I'm sorry I'm asking all this of you. I mean I don't even know you, but I get the feeling that you are a pretty awesome dude and that you can do this, plus it doesn't hurt that I'm desperate. So thanks for considering it again. Hope you had a great Good Friday! |
