Description Height: 6'1" Weight: 170 lbs Hair: Dark brown and wavy, with a fair few curls. Eyes: Green Appearance: Tall and slender, but with well-packed muscles. Ayros often has an amused look on his face as though he's silently mocking someone or had just remembered a joke. He can come across as very foreboding simply because of that smiling demeanor he has. Clothing: Ayros wears black leather armor and a black cape that helps him blend into the darkness, even though he's not in the stealth-based division. Personal Personality: Ayros is fairly accepting of others as well as generally being kind and laid-back. However, he is also known to be rather ruthless, showing little mercy to his opponents. Although he treats others with kindness and is often regarded with admiration or friendliness by his comrades, he still manages to intimidate them. He prefers to take more of a neutral stance on things - if it will benefit him to do something, then that is what he will do. Although he isn't truly sure of what he wants to do with himself, the idea that he might be a pointless existence is one he tries to stray away from at all costs. He is calm, cool and collected most of the time, and very tactical and shrewd both in battle and out.
Goals: Unknown (Secretly entertaining the idea of starting a new generation by killing the existing captains) Fears: Not having a purpose in life.
History: Spoiler: click to toggle Ayros has never revealed his past as a human, so it is unknown if he even remembers it. He might even have been born as a soul. All that is known is that Ayros joined Soul Society's warriors at a young age and climbed up to power very quickly. He has since remained as the a Division Captain.

Bakudou Name: Kyakko (Curving Light) Number: 26 Type: Binding Element: None What is it?: A clever binding skill, the user actually exerts their spiritual pressure on the light around them, bending it to make their target hidden from sight. The area of effect is small, only about a meter, and it should be noted it does nothing to mask the user’s spiritual presence. It is possible with enough effort to extend the reach of the cloak, but it would have to be on a remarkably narrow object. Activation Command/Chant: "Vanish from within the sight, hide beneath the light."
Name: Tsuriboshi (Suspending Star) Number: 37 Type: Binding Element: None What is it?: Simply the creation of cushions of spiritual energy, each suspending star is a cushion for falling objects, anchored to a certain point by a “rope” of spirit particles. Generally a safety net, it requires only a brief chant, but in times of emergency, the chant is often ignored. If the chant should be ignored, however, the user must remain focused on maintaining the kidou. Activation Command/Chant: "Hang from the silken sky, shine as the star."
Name: Rikujôkôrô (Six Rods Prison of Light) Number: 61 Type: Binding Element: None What is it?: Summons six thin, but wide, beams of light that slam into a target's midsection, holding them in place. Each beam forms out of reiatsu expelled into the air by the user, and as the last few words as the incantation are chanted, the reiatsu suddenly fires forth from about a meter away from the opponent, aiming at their midsection. Accuracy and strength of such a technique surely are dependent on how much focus is put into it, so using to succeed another technique is not recommended. Activation Command/Chant: Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six!"
Name: Kuyō Shibari (Nine Sunlight Traps) Number: 79 Type: Binding Element: None What is it?: Creates eight black holes that emit spiritual energy in the personal space surrounding the target, with a ninth black hole manifesting in the center of the targets chest. This is a very very powerful holding spell, able to restrain targets easily if the entire chant is given as the gravity by all the black holes works to restrain the target's body and reiatsu, sucking it in constantly all around them. Activation Command/Chant: "Grimace and reflect, be the fissure between the divide, the stalwart defender shall precede."
Name: Danku (Splitting Void) Number: 81 Type: Binding Element: None What is it?: Danku creates an energy barrier in the form of a rectangular wall. According to Byakuya, it is capable of stopping destructive spells up to #89, for the reason that many of the higher arts attack in an indirect fashion. When directly confronted, it is commonly believed that no kidou can breach Danku, but this is mere sterile conjecture. Physical assaults also seem to be impeded by the barrier, but it is far more likely that such an assault will breach the barrier than a kidou. Activation Command/Chant: N/A
Hadou Name: Tsuzuri Raiden (Reading Lightning) Number: 11 Type: Hadou Element: Lightning What is it?: Similar to Byakurai, the user’s energy is converted into a surging electric current. Projecting it through any object that could conduct electricity, or even an object that could conduct spiritual energy, the user provides a current with a voltage upwards of five thousand volts. Activation Command/Chant: "Weaving light springing from the source, follow my hand."
Name: Haien (Abolishing Flames) Number: 54 Type: Hadou Element: Fire What is it?: A purple sphere is created in the user’s palm, thrown directly after executing the kidou and calling out it’s name. The sphere keeps its composure for up to fifteen meters with dynamics similar to a baseball, matching it’s size, speed, and ability to slide sink and curve accordingly. Upon contact, the sphere bursts over the targeted area, consuming it in purple flames that will incinerate a target completely unless it has the capacity to channel spiritual energy. As such, spiritual weapons, barriers, and beings are subject to a very different kind of damage, with their defensive properties halved and their capacity to channel spiritual energy along the area inhibited for a post. The flames can spread along an area of three square feet, and die out shortly after they carry out their purpose Activation Command/Chant: "Blazing grey flames upon the wilderness, the flames show the future of the world."
Name: Kurohitsugi (Black Coffin) Number: 90 Type: Hadou Element: N/A What is it?: Forms a box of black energy around a target, which is then pierced by dozens of energy "spears", lacerating the one inside from head to toe. Its appearance and function is reminiscent of a common magician's trick, as well as certain torture devices used during the Spanish Inquisition. As indicated, this spell forms indirectly and is very hard to dodge except by those who are very well acquainted with the kidou, therefore this art and others near its power level are restricted. Activation Command/Chant: "The condemned, the banished, the hated they are, those that live within the palace of the earth. The heat that drives the fear is what I come to fear, the fear shall show the heat the perfect fuel. Betray me to the fire!"
Name: Senjū Kōten Taihō (Thousand-Hand Bright Heaven Culling-Sear) Number: 91 Type: Hadou Element: N/A What is it?: Summons several spears of light that are all fired towards the same focal point where the intended target resides. The culminating explosion is exceedingly devastating. Activation Command/Chant: "Limit of the thousands hands, respectful hands, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky. The road that basks in light, the wind that ignited the embers, time that gathers when both are together, there is no need to be hesitant, obey my orders. Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, grey fortress tower. Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired"
Techniques: Techniques Utsusemi (Molting Cicada): A highly advanced speed technique which creates a perfect, lasting replica of the user. It allows for a movement at great speed leaving an after-image behind. The afterimage may even appear to have taken damage.
Deflection: Ayros' personal technique; it was developed in order to protect him from harm. Rather than having armour like Hierro and resisting damage, Ayros chose to avoid taking the attack instead. When an attack hits Ayros it slips by him almost as if he were a mirage. In reality, Ayros' reiatsu covers him with a thin layer that redirects damage. If a sword were to slash at his arm for example, it would simply slide along his arm and he wouldn't take damage. While this technique is excellent against physical attacks, and even lower-level Kidou, attacks with a large blast radius or that encompass the user entirely can't be avoided with this technique, nor can more powerful techniques (eg the majority of Shikai techniques). This technique constantly drains reiatsu as it is used. The user glows a faint green while this technique is activated.
Shunpo (Flash Step): A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. The focal point that determines the basis of this technique is speed. As speed is the main point of the technique the method is best characterized by how fast one can get from point A to point B in the least amount of steps. Training and skill are what determines how fast a user of Shunpo can move; those of little skill in the technique or those who haven't used it an extended amount of time would obviously be out of practice, causing those individuals to be considerably slower, which requires the use of more steps to move the same distance and become winded far easier in a shorter amount of time.
Eishouhaki (Without Chant): The perennial ability of a skilled kidou caster. This ability enables the casting of lesser spells without the use of an incantation with only minor reduction in kidou power. (Note: this is not an excuse to kidou spam)
Shockwave Break: An offensive technique that not many know Ayros has, but for those that know of it it is what makes him famous amongst them. By focusing his Reiatsu along the edge of his blade, when he strikes Ayros can cause a series of focused shockwaves, all one after another, travelling in whatever direction he swung his blade. The larger he makes the shockwaves, the less powerful they become. The power of this technique can become, at max, slightly more powerful than Senkouken - but that requires direct contact with the foe and extremely narrow shockwaves.
Ikaku (Intimidation): The first thing most Shinigami try to do once their reiatsu is powerful enough, this allows the user to focus their reiatsu around themselves and summon forth a giant image around themselves that takes a personalised form for each person who uses it. This also boosts the next attack the Shinigami makes by 50% but also uses up 25% of their current reiatsu. This cannot be used in succession with Pressure.
Strengths: Ayros' main strengths lie in his power and his speed. He hits fast and he hits hard, closing the distance between himself and his opponents in very little time. His ability to get in and out of combat is remarkable, making him great at hit-and-run tactics. He is best at mid-close range, where he can fully exploit his speed and power while still keeping his opponents within his sword's range. He has high reiatsu levels as well as incredible swordsmanship skills. Weaknesses: Put simply, Ayros doesn't have much in terms of defense. Aside from his Deflection technique, he mostly relies on his evasiveness to come out of a battle relatively unharmed. Combat Style: He likes to take his opponents down with high speed, full-strength hit-and-run attacks, often appearing in one place and attacking at another. He tends to use Kidou when his his opponents are farther away and uses his sword more as he draws nearer. Of course, he mixes this up sometimes too. Because of his dislike for getting hit, he usually doesn't go on a rampage with his attacks unless he thinks he can get away with it or unless it's absolutely necessary.
