Courier sprinted onwards, unawares of Julia's position. Once he felt he was safe, he turned to see where she was. Just in time too, as a foot was coming straight a him. Shooting an arrow from his anklets to the side, he propelled himself out of the way of the incoming foot. Afterwards, he kept on running.

Once he was further away, he slowed down his pace, and his anklets seemed to glow. Blue energy enveloped his feet, and seemed to appear around his abdomen where he had been kicked. The light faded in both areas, but afterwards, Courier felt rejuvenated, and the pain was completely gone. "Stay away!" Courier once again sped up and kept running from Julia.

This would have been annoying if it was a real fight. Luckily that wasn't the case for Julia, so she would just keep attacking Courier until he managed to book it. Well, she had at least managed to make him use an ability she didn't know he had developed.

"Progress is still progress, even if he's still running." She managed to catch up once again, though he seemed to be progressively getting faster. Sooner or later Julia wouldn't be able to keep pace, and she knew this. Once more she lashed out with her leg, though this time she aimed for his ankles, trying to sweep his feet out from under him.

This time when he continued to run, he made sure he routinely checked behind him. The last one was close, and he didn't want to take the risk of getting surprised again. His caution paid off. Just as he had expected, Julia once again caught up to him. But he was prepared. He shot an arrow to the side, but the angle was a bit off. Her kick came close, but he did manage to dodge it. He needed to be more careful, but it was hard to dodge consecutively.

"Julia, just stop! I don't like this." The phrase was mumbled as he kept running when he said it. He could feel that he was getting closer to an escape route, and he was speeding up. Soon enough he would be able to outrun her, he just needed to buy time. Once again, his anklets began to glow with blue light, and he could feel himself being slightly rejuvenated.

Courier would leave soon. While it had been annoying fun trying to chase him down, it was apparent that Julia wouldn't be able to catch him before he escaped. It seemed that one kick was enough to scare him out of a fight. Julia was sprinting at max speed now, barely keeping up with the fleet-footed Courier.

"Almost...there..." With one last leap, she came flying in for another kick, this one likely to knock him right on his ass. Or to just miss again. It didn't really matter, in a moment Courier would likely escape (as he was known to be so good at doing) and effectively allow Julia to move on. I mean, come on, it's not like he could've won anyway.

Probably.

Courier was well in front of her, but once again she was closing the gap. It must have been a last ditch effort on her part to hit him, but he wasn't going to let her. He didn't want to slow down his run speed, since he was just under his maximum escape speed, so he decided to show some of his 'street smarts'. There was a rock coming up in front of him so he started to lean forward. With a front flip, he grabbed the rock, and lifted it above his head and behind his shoulders, blocking Julia's attack.

He then kept pace, and started breathing calmly to steady his rhythm. He didn't need to do anything except remain calm, and maintain his composure. No need to waste energy doing anything when he was just about to escape. Courier did have the faint notion that Julia had been holding back. It was a kind enough gesture, but her kick still hurt. With mixed feelings in mind, he ran of into the distance, well out of the fighting area.

Courier had finally managed to get away. All in all, Julia felt a bit disappointed. He hadn't really embraced the whole 'sparring' thing, but he sort of did get some practice. Ish. Sorta.

"He had said he was going to let me win. Whatever." With another shrug Julia turned on her heel and began walking off the field, mentally preparing for a real fight in the next round. She wondered who her next opponent could be, and she hoped that she would make it to Solis and claim the glory.
