It was rare to see his homeland so bright and radiant. The weather in britain was not infamous without reason, and a more optimistic man might've described the luminant scene as idyllic. Hanged Man was not such a man, and to him, the radiance from the Stonehenge burned and blinded. Like most surrounding him, he was now a creature of the night, and though he would personally prefer not to endure the radiant purge for the months to come, there were others far more personally invested than he. Suffering was commonplace in the Nightlands, and he was hardly first in line to help alleviate that pain. Slowly and rhythmically moving across the field, he made his way to the combat zone. He had never met either of his opponents before, but it hardly mattered. He would do his utmost to overcome the challenges placed before him, if only to make new projects out of the crushed souls of his opponents. If he suffered defeat, it would not be the first time. Although, he mused, it might be the last. A glance around the field told him there was not much terrain to use. The area was not barren, persay, but quite open and flat, and the vegetation was sparse and mostly grass. A fact that would soon change. Though neither he nor the trees that would soon take root in the area were alive, strictly speaking, the plains surrounding stonehenge would soon be bustling with 'life'. The serene peace that held a grip on the area would soon be broken. Trying to lean his head in a way where he wouldn't get blinded by the immense light, he put his weight on the cane and awaited company. Bomani walked onto the grass field after hopping off his motorcycle a ways away. He was the second to arrive, but it wouldn't be long before all of his opponents showed themselves. There was a man who was trying to not be blinded by the light in front of him, maybe a spirit? Whatever he was, the man was definitely his opponent. On this bright day, three people were meant to fight and as part of the Maasai, Bomani did not have much of a choice, but to win. Losing, for him was a learning experience, but the rest of the Maasai wouldn't really understand that notion. He, at least, had to put on a good show if he was ever going to hear the end about it. He approached the man walking a similar path. He did not say anything or make a sound outside of the rustling of the grass as he continued forward. What was left to do was for the last combatant to come out. And to explore this country a little more than he did when he was in the military. He sadly never had a chance to go see the UK as his troop's stint here was very short lived, shipped out almost immediately to their next destination. A frown went over his face at the wasted opportunity to truly learn what this old country was like, but now he had the chance if he was beaten up or otherwise. Scoping out the area once more, Bomani noticed how flat the terrain is. Almost completely perpendicular to him as he stood there. It was going to be slightly difficult to plant traps the way he wants to. He had to rely more on the reiatsu activated traps going through the air to catch his enemy than the ones he was going to plant on the ground. There was also no cover, whatsoever. This might be an issue if he needs to catch his breath somewhere. All and all it depends on the opponents he is facing and how they fight. He sucked his teeth in a disgruntled way. There wasn't enough info to truly strategically plan his method of attack. HP: 90/90 Reiatsu:130/130 Strength: 14 R-Control: 22 Speed: 15 Defense: 14 Traits Plantlife: Bomani takes 10% less damage from Light/Water, but takes 10% more damage from Darkness/Ice. Curious Mind: Bomani takes 10% extra damage from new techniques, but takes 10% less damage if the technique is used again in the same battle. Greenthumb: Bomani deals 20% extra damage with Plant, and takes 20% extra damage from Fire. Human: Bomani is normal. Techs: R0 - (N) Celtic Swagger (Dodge) 0.6xDef, No Cost (No specials.) [None] R1 - (T) Blunt Trauma (Melee) 0.6xStr, 1.0xSpd, -4 Reiatsu (No specials.) [Blunt] R1 - (N) Forearm Parry (Block) 0.5xDef, -4 Reiatsu (If blocking melee, opponent will pay reiatsu cost.) [None] R2 - Amaethon’s Swirl (T/N) Leech Seed (Kidou) 0.5xR-Con, 1.0xSpd, -8 Reiatsu/No Cost (Inflicts targets with Leech. For no turn/reiatsu cost, Bomani may inflict himself with Leech) [Plant] Status - Leech: For the next 3 rounds, 10 reiatsu is drained at the start of the turn. A turn may be used to remove the Leech Seed. Leech Seed cannot be stacked on targets. All stolen Reiatsu goes to forming Yew Tree Armor, with excess fueling its sustain costs once complete. Status - Yew Tree Armor: For every 10 reiatsu drained, Bomani gains a stack of Yew Tree Armor. Each stack grants him 2 strength and 2 defense, though reduces his speed by 1. Yew Tree Armour stacks up to 5 times and requires 10 reiatsu a turn regardless of stacks to remain active. R2 Amaethon’s Swirl - (T) Draining Grip (Melee) 0.5xStr, 0.8xSpd, -9 Reiatsu (Every stack of Yew Tree Armor increases Str EF by 0.1. Drains 10 reiatsu from target that goes toward Yew Tree Armor stacks/sustain.) [Plant] R3 Amaethon’s Swirl - (T) Vine Snaring Trap (Kidou) 0.8xR-Con, 20 Spd, -20 Reiatsu (Snares Single Target for 1 round.) [Plant] Equipment Amaethon's Swirl grants Bomani 5 R-Con and 5 Defense and unlocks his special techniques. Items Edited by DeT, Jul 8 2013, 08:10 PM.

Glitch in the System

Even at the height of the Roman Empire Cassius never made his way to the island of Britain. He never went in all his wars since he woke up, he never went when he toured the world. When he set foot in this flat dreary land, he instantly realized why the desire never came to him. Cassius sighed as he checked his watch and made his way to the field designated as the fighting space. "It was bound to happen sometime..." His nonchalant attitude betrayed his anxiety to start fighting, but he felt on edge all the time in this bleak place. The grayness, the temperature... even the wind put him off. The roman smirked as he remembered the location of his Gigai, neatly hidden in the crook of a tree that was in the middle of a forest. He felt freer now that he has back in his spirit body, he felt like he was back in the arena. With a conceited smirk Cassius entered the fighting plain, staring openly at the two men who were arriving as he did. He swung his spear around in a slow flourish, slowly increasing in speed until his spear was a blur. He stopped and slammed it head first into the ground and leaned against it. His face was painted in a bemused smirk and he snickered quietly against the monotonous wind. He buried all emotions except the confidence he felt when he had his spear at the ready, he was thrown back millennia as he gripped his spear in anticipation for the upcoming battle. The brutal sun, the harsh sand, the dry air flooded past him and his smirked bloomed into a wicked grin. Cassius HP: 90/90 Reiatsu: 100/100 Strength: 20 R-Control: 18 Speed: 20 Defense: 10 Traits Lancer: Cassius does 25% more damage from Piercing, but suffers 25% more damage from Piercing. Gladiator: Cassius takes 20% less damage from Slashing, but takes 20% more damage from Blunt. Arrancar: Due to their Hierro, Arrancar regain 1 more defense per turn, but 2 less speed per turn than normally (after dodging/blocking). Also, Arrancar only start with 2 standard traits, and get access to their last one after Release. R0 - (T) Lightning Thrust (Melee) 0.6xStr, 1.0xSpd, No Cost (Blocks are at +5) [Piercing] R1 - (N) Narrow Miss (Dodge) 0.8xSpd, -4 Reiatsu (No effect) [None] R2 - (N) Bodyblock (Block) 0.3xDef, -7 Reiatsu (If blocking melee, attacker is Snared for one turn.) [None] R2 - (T) Are You Not Entertained? (None) No EF, -9 Reiatsu (Cassius dodges at +10 for two turns. Can only be used twice in one battle.) [Space] (T) Ressurrección: Durzo the Denier (Release) No EF, -10% of max Reiatsu (Cassius’ R-Control increases by 20% and his speed increases by 5%. He spawns 1 Cero Blade immediately.) Cero Blade - Blades of energy that Cassius may command at will. They are used to augment and pay for his techniques in Ressurrección form. It costs 3 reiatsu to sustain a single blade for a turn. Mental Manipulation: Cassius deals 15% more damage with Kidou, but takes 15% more damage from melee. R1 - (T) Blade Spawn (Kidou) 0.5xR-Con, 0.8xSpd, -4 Reiatsu (S. Cassius creates 3 Cero Blades, firing 1 at an opponent and storing the remaining 2.) [Slashing] R3 - (T) Et tu, Cassius? (Kidou) 1.1xR-Con, 1.0xSpd, -5 Cero Blades (S. Cassius’ blades circle and slash at target from all directions, reducing block by 5.) [Slashing] Equipment Items Money: 60 "Shall we dance, fellas?" His soul soared into overdrive as he readied his spear. The roman thrust his spear a few times into the empty air, followed by a few swings as a way to wind up his body and loosen his limbs. Cassius he launched himself toward the man with the cane, going for what seemed to be the weakest target first. His instincts from the Colosseum filling his body with a primal rage as he prepped for the fight that was starting. He unleashed a Lightning Thrust aimed for the ragged man's stomach. His face twisted into a primal sneer as followed through with the attack. Stat Information

The man with the spear wasted no time flying into the ragged looking man across the field from Bomani in what looked like a very electrical attack. Thankfully, this gave Bomani a second to think about his first step of action. Activating the Swirl, Bomani took aim with one of the swirling green orbs hovering on the top of his hand. He aimed his Leech Seed at the ragged looking man being distracted by a charging spear user to take advantage of the situation. Turn Stuff Spoiler: click to toggle

Just about his luck. Both of the two opponents launched off towards Hanged Man. Perhaps they saw him as easy prey, or perhaps, they were frightened of him. He was fairly intimidating, with his large, bloated neck and scary stubble. Unable to react quickly enough to get out of the way, the crippled man was struck cleanly by the early onslaught of offense. Not only that, the one staying back spawned vines beginning to entangle Hanged Man. He scruffed; he was more than comfortable with having things grow on his body. Coughing up some intelligble sentence, probably from the gum in his throat, his cane began to grow and envelop him in deadwood. Turn

Cassius' blood rage started pumping as his spear stabbed his target, something it hadn't done for so long. His feral grin turned into a frenzied sneer as he saw blood spill again. The arrancar's body pulsed with life as it realized the fight was in full effect, but he was jarred from his trance when he noticed some magic being cast. Instantly he retreated back a safe distance and watched with poorly contained rage he spat, "Pedicabo ego vos!" The arrancar watched in astonishment as vines sprang up around his prey, wrapping around him and setting up roots in his body. His astonishment turned into awe as the ragged wretch of a man popped gum into his mouth during the fight, it wasn't often he admired his targets but this was one of those times. With his mouth so agape, he found it strange his jaw wasn't on the dingy grass. The man he just stabbed. The man who just took two consecutive attacks and stood there as stoic as a tree. The man who was covered in vines and was wielding a growing branch in his hand like it was nothing. He looked like a solitary tree standing after a brutal fire or a natural disaster, just standing there midst the chaos of the fight. Cassius shook his head and lunged back into the fight, unleashing another wild thrust aimed for his target's stomach Battle Summary

This bloated necked man had just taken the damage from both the spear wielding Arrancar and from Bomani. Bomani just stared at the man, who almost looked tree like in his eyes. This was going to be an interesting time for everyone involved today. Shooting another Leech Seed at the bloated neck with a green flash, it was only a matter of time before the seed starts draining him of his energy. The onslaught continued, but this time, Hanged Man was ready. Bringing up his zanpakutou to block the incoming attack, the thorns broke off his weapon and began to grow into the opponent. Nearly shrugging off the other assault as well, Hanged Man thrust his weapon deep within the ground, and all of a sudden, the thorns and grasping roots of the deadwood began to envelop him as well. He would not move. Turn Stats

"Fuck that!" Cassius recoiled in surprise and pain. The man had completely blocked his attack, not only that but his sword broke apart into his arm. Cassius' whole body felt heavy despite only his arm being hurt, he felt sluggish and slow. Toxins? Holy shit! It took a second for his thoughts to catch up with his intuition. He gritted his teeth and snarled a guttural taunt at the tree-man. "You're kidding me, right?" He flourished his spear, wincing as he did so. This is gonna be a pain in the ass. Cassius jumped back and stared daggers at the ragged bloated freak. He shrugged slightly and brushed off the blood from his arm before brandishing his spear in a taunt. "You wont be able to block me forever!" 'Til then though, I'll just watch and see what happens. He swapped his spear hand and started pulling out the shards in his arm, but he was surprised when they felt like thorns. He muttered to himself quietly, "I guess the tree-man is actually more tree than man." Battle Summary
