It was once again that time of the year again. The time for Solis to rise once again and for all the factions to send warriors to compete for the grand prize of fighting Solis one on one. It had been years since Ilya cared about this event, but for some reason, the cossack decided that this time would be a good time to participate. After all, he had been training for a while now and this was a good chance to test his skills against other warriors. Since the last fight against Solis was one on one, the arrancar did not have to worry about injuring opponents since in the end, only one could take on Solis and Ilya was determined to be that one. Walking towards the center of the fighting area, which was a relatively open plain in the vicinity of Stonehenge, the cossack waited for his opponents.

Wilkes had seen The Wickerman, when it was both good and when it was not. The English were pagans were onto something, well, not in the remake, in the remake they were just crazy. Sadly, this solstice wasn’t going to be a simple bit of a live human sacrifice, being burnt ironically inside of an effigy, no there was a lot of theatrics and bloodshed. It wasn't what the druids had in mind, but it was a decent enough time waster.

There was a lot of combat to prove some sort of worthiness, and each year Wilkes was surprised to see that the English countryside was not field to field Massai spending yet another afternoon doing what they were already planning to do. Either way, Wilkes was far removed from the likes of the wickermen and Massai, and he often wondered just what brought him to this particular spot on this particular day. He mused it over a bit only to end up where he had already started, ‘Combat, yes. “Cry ‘havoc’ and let slip the dogs of war” and so on and so forth…’

Ilya never liked free for all battles, preferring to face his opponents one on one. As such, the cossack's primary objective was to survive this fight until it was a one on one or failing that, ensure the defeat of at least one opponent. Since both opponents were shinigami, the Maasai did not particularly care which one won and which one lost. Tossing a coin mentally, the arrancar chose his opponent. Grasping his sword, Ilya neared Covenant, drawing his blade and unleashing the Crescent Strike onto the shinigami.

Immediately upon arriving, one of the other two opponents went straight for Covenant. He was an arrancar, which benefited Covenant somewhat. He aimed a strike at Covenant. Covenant decided not to block, and in return aimed a strike at the arrancar.

Wilkes are pretty ready to defend himself, he taken aback once he realized that he honestly didn’t even have to consider it. From the get go, the arrancar and the other guy were kind of just taking shots at each other over there. That was cool with Wilkes; he could just take a breather while they were off just boxing a bit. That he could just help a guy out a bit, who knows. The question was who to help, which was an easy enough question, he was swore to help the interests of hollows and to hinder Liu Meng. So coin flip.

It seemed like both of the shinigami were in league with each other for as soon as Covenant took his attack head on and responded with one of his own, the other shinigami, Wilkes, attacked Ilya as well. This was going to be a tougher fight that he expected. The cossack was still intent on focusing a single target since if he fought against both of the shinigami, then his defeat was guaranteed, but if he focused one of them, then perhaps he had a chance. And so, the arrancar used Deflection to block Covenant's attack, suffering some damage, and using Fleet of Foot to dodge Wilkes's attack, jumping back in the process. Since he was fighting two opponents, it looked like he needed to power up. As such, the Maasai grasped his sword and spoke the words of the release, Leti Sapsan, his body changing into one of a human sized bird, his arms turning into wings and his face growing a bone beak.

The arrancar managed to block Covenant's attack, reducing it to nearly nothing. The other Shinigami seemed to assist Covenant with an attack of his own, which was quickly dodged by the arrancar.

A transformation occurred as the arrancar released, gaining a bird-like appearance. Covenant ignored the other shinigami, and continued to press the attack on the arrancar.

Actions

There was an old adage that talked about something like,

"If at first you don't succeed then try try again."

Wilkes took it to heart, and so he tried again. With his attention still on the now release arrancar, he just chanted away and went back to what he was doing. There was a flash or something, I don't know.
