Name: Dempsey, Bomani
Actual Age: 25
Visual Age: 22
Nickname/Alias: Whirlwind Strategist
Gender: Male
Race: Human Spiritualist
Allegiance: Maasai
Influence: 0

Appearance:
Bomani is a strange mixture of Irish and Egyptian descent and because of this he is blessed with an almost permanent light tan and cursed with some rather odd, dark, fiery red hair. This mixture of races also gave him a slightly above average height of six feet, two inches and a decent runner’s build from his mother’s side of the family. Bomani has a rugged, rough and tumble good look towards him. He has the ability to clean himself up if he wanted to, but chooses to have a consistent 5 o’clock shadow of fiery red stubble because of how much often he had to shave in the military, which was every day.

Due to his time in the military, Bomani has a plethora of scaring on his body from the various injuries he sustained in his time. There are two that stand out in particular, a set of scars on his shoulders from a hollow attack during his time on tour with the military. These two scars are equal in length, but very jagged almost like someone took a serrated blade and decided to carve into the shoulders. Outside of that, Bomani’s hands are callused with his time as the main mechanic in his troop as well as the farming he does from time to time.

Those very hands are also stained permanently from all of the oil and grease he touched while repairing and breaking down Bomani’s usual attire when not with the Maasai are simple beige pants and a button-down or a t-shirt with a band on it. He prefers to be as comfortable as possible especially when he is working on his projects at his own. When he’s with the Maasai, he still wears light colored pants of some sort, but he wears a burgundy loose, long sleeved shirt and a light cotton jacket. On his right arm, Bomani has a tattoo of his old troop’s call sign, a shell back with the Maasai triangle added around the image, recently done. He wears the Amaethon’s Swirl around his next at all times.

Personality:
Always curious, Bomani has a knack for breaking things down in his head, “dissecting” them, and putting them back together again in a more productive form. He did this many times when it came to improving some of his past vehicles’ engines. His finest being a motorcycle being able to outrun a race car down a straight patch of road. Because of this tendency, Bomani has been able to come up with strategies on the fly to help his troops come out relatively clean from dangerous events and more in-depth strategies if given enough time and as many variables as possible.

When it comes to people, he is very personable and knows how to work a crowd. Works well when it is involving people who are not Maasai. They tend to be more serious about their discussions and sometimes even Bomani can’t be serious for too long. On the other hand, he is a very trustworthy person and his body portrays this to everyone who sees him. This is especially handy when being involved with military and mercenary types. Finally, he likes creating new tools and finding ways to combine his religion into his designs for weaponry and equipment.

Bomani does not feel pressure like normal people. He thrives on it and gives him a calm, calculating mind during these times of extreme pressure. It gives him an adrenaline rush to come so close to the edge and be able to navigate his way away from it. And succeed. But he also likes having a game plan from time to time. Bomani is ruthless when it comes to enemies. Some people would say that he has a very oppressive force when it comes to those who cross him.

History:
Bomani was born into a good, yet tough family. His parents, both loved him very much, but did not show outward affection for the young man while he was growing up. He was raised to tough and constantly thinking even if the people around him did not do the same and his parents took great pride in their son going against the grain doing everything his own way. Early on they did mold him into being a good kid, but once in high school they believed he would come onto his own and choose the right path. Both parents were also a part of the night lands, but they hoped to keep their son away from that.

For a student who loved learning, taking mechanical things apart, and experimenting with almost everything, Bomani’s parents were shocked when he joined the military when he graduated from high school. This was where Bomani’s secret life came into place. Knowing about the Nightlands from the young age and wanted to truly be a part of this world as well as the day world. Bomani, in secret, became a part of a local chapter of the Celtic Neopaganism religion with other human spiritualist and druids. Instead of doing after school activities, Bomani went to learn from the druids he found and constantly wanted to learn. He wanted to learn all about the gods of his religion, communing with the local spirits and just trying to become the best druid he can be.

Sadly, when he started trying to introduce new ideas into improving nature, Bomani had started to become shunned from the group. As a smart person, but still a young kid, he decided at eighteen to become his own kind of druid. He followed the Celtic Paganism religion, but wanted to continue improving it as best as he can. He knew that he needed to travel across the world in order to help nature and learn new ways of doing it and what better way than to join the military. The military, specifically the army, allowed Bomani to travel the world and have a group of companions that followed him and allowed him to see some of the more innovative things from around the world.

For three years, Bomani had been a part of the troop and was a leader among his group and traveled into Egypt for a new assignment. It was routine, just be a part of a village as a form of military presence, but something was different that night. Bomani was seeing black figures shifting around town, yet his troop mates did not see them. They thought he was going crazy and being in the night lands for so long, part of Bomani knew better, but the other part had never seen those black figures before so he equated it to being in the heat for so long.

The dark figure attacked Bomani’s troop at night, trying to find the Bomani’s strong spiritual presence in the group. One by one the group was decimated, eventually finding him and grabbed him. Having never seen a hollow before, Bomani had no idea what to do as this stag beetle looking monster digging into his shoulders. It was only out of desperation that he was able to channel his spiritual energy into the pendant he had made and smashed the beasts white mask. With the creature slowly dissipating, Bomani did everything in the little power he had left to bury his fellow troop mates, took all of their dog tags and started wondering towards the nearest town, as they were camped out to not instill a riot in the town they were sent to “protect.”
With such injuries and just wondering through a desert by himself, he stumbled upon what looked to be a tribe of people. This was where he found the Maasai tribe, who prized strength over everything else and it was here Bomani had stayed and learned how to use his mental strength and his abilities to his advantage.

It’s been two years since then and Bomani is ready to bring together his own troop.

Equipment:
Ameathon’s Swirl: In its’ sealed form, the swirl looks like a pendant with a rigid swirl design on a long, yet skinny iron chain “Rope.” The pendant itself has a light blue gleam to it. Bomani created this design from a symbol from one of the gods of creativity, agriculture, and thievery in his Celtic Pagan religion.

Items:

  • Multitool
  • Canvas Bag
  • Wallet with some money.
  • His troop mates dogtags, 5 in all.
  • Custom Motorcycle, Chopper style

Combat:
Bomani is a very pragmatic fighter. Anything that can help him in a fight you better believe he’s going to use. He is what the Maasai would like all of their warriors to be, in it to be victorious in combat, no matter how it’s done. As long as the honor is there of course. The thing about Bomani’s fighting style is that he wants to be able to counter the opponent’s fighting style and break them down. Whittle them down to nothing and making them feel like they cannot do anything to stop him. Oppressive is a word one could use and if he’s never seen the attacks his enemy would use, you better believe he wants to learn what they do and find ways to counter it.

Being in the military for a number of years, Bomani has learned many different styles of armed and unarmed combat, but prefers the more pragmatic ones. Locks and disables are a big part of his way of fighting as well as quick strikes to vital spots of a person’s body: Noses, knees and shots to the chest are all good at disabling and disorienting opponents. Using weapons, spiritual or not, is something he likes doing as well. He’s quite good with using a nightstick, but combat knife or spear is also at home in his hands. He’s a decent marksman, nothing to write home about, but in a pinch he can surely pick up on the shooting and hit his mark.

Lastly, out of everything, Bomani uses his Amaethon’s Swirl to its fullest capability. Amaethon in the Celtic Pagan religion is a god of agriculture as well as a thief and Bomani has created a way to honor both aspects of one of the gods he truly honors. He uses Swirl’s ability to launch spiritual seeds that can fast grow plants that turn into traps. He uses it as a way to wear down his enemies can continue the oppressive feeling he always wants to give his enemy. A “no way out” situation. Further details of this ability are stated below.

Abilities:
Amaethon’s Swirl, when channeled, gives Bomani control over the speed of growth of plants as well as the way they grow. It is the creativity in Bomani’s imagination that allows him to create the traps for his enemies. The swirl’s activation is seen by three golf ball sized orbs circling around Bomani’s left wrist. These green spiritual spheres can be launched at a surface to create a trap of some sort, be it a leek spike trap or a vine snaring trap. These traps are activated by a reishi that Bomani feels is an enemy and grow quickly trying to steal away more reishi from the enemy they grab or stab.

Many of Amaethon’s Swirl’s abilities go off of draining the enemy’s reishi and depleting the energy from Reishi constructs. The orbs can also be launched at an enemy to create a sort of “leech seed” draining them of their reishi. The amount of reishi drained can be seen by the growing yew tree “armor,” starting from the right arm of Bomani and depending growing onto the rest of the body. If Bomani wanted to drain more from the reishi, he can try grabbing the enemy with the pendant itself to try and absorb more reishi directly from the enemy.

Lastly, because of his control over plants, Bomani can create weapons out of plants, depending on his imagination. Most recently, he believes in small spears and night sticks made from spiritual yew wood or hardened leeks to beat people down with.
