Gabe was walking for a few weeks now, he had somehow managed to avoid most of the Legion patrols, those who did see him met with rather unfortunate circumstances. Gabe had walked about 10 miles on this particular day and it was getting late, the sun would be down soon and for that matter Nocturnals were sure to be coming out soon. This could be bad as Gabe was better off avoiding direct confrontations with Legion warriors if he was going to have his revenge it was better if Osin did not know he was still alive. Gabe made his leave going over to a small cave it would be a good place to hide for the night. |

Eslanna leaned against the back of the cave with her eyes shut. The dark was claustrophobic on her own. The small cramped space made things more difficult. The light from the tunnel that led to the tiny space was fading quickly, and her pulse was speeding rapidly. Soon, the beasts would come out for the night. She covered her mouth, and her eyes shot open. Not alone. I am not alone. The thought made her whole body tense as she drew her knees to her chest. She knew that someone or something was about to bump into her, and she sure hoped it wouldn't lead to one of them dying. She had seen enough blood and gore in the last few days. Her hand found her blade and tensed around the hilt. The rubies on her upper arms flashed in the faint light, but she never made a sound. |

Gabriel stepped into the cave and looked around, there wasn't much light but that was good, light would attract unwanted visitors. He put his hand out to feel the wall as he walk through the dimly lit area until he could barely see outside, the sun was just about to set and Gabe had made it in the cave, he was lucky this time. He had an easy time fighting grunts but he'd never fought a nocturnal before nor did he want to at this particular time. Gabe got to about the middle of the cave or atleast what he thought was the middle and leaned his back against the wall and slid down it till he was sitting on his butt. He leaned his head back and let out a drawn out sigh before opening his bag, he pulled out some bread and milk. |

Eslanna allowed herself a few moments to take everything in. The presence felt human, not a bit other. That fear that tangled her stomach into knots didn't make her fight to hold in her meal. Whoever was with her in the cave was human and not Legion. Her body relaxed and she let go of her blades hilt. She shut her eyes again and laid back her head. She wondered if whoever was with her would jump if she said something, but it was safer to let herself be known now. She opened her eyes again, the adjustment to the dark giving her the faint outline of someone directly in front of her. She stared at them for a moment. Her voice was low, but it carried in the tiny space,"Hello..." |

Gabriel started to eat his bread and drink his milk, it was the first real thing he had eatten in days. He was trying to ration his food so he would make due with berries on trees sometimes. He tore a piece of bread and ate it before drinking the milk, it was good those people in the village of Sol sure knew how to make good bread and their cows gave good milk as well. He started to drink more of the milk before he heard something, it was a faint hello he hadn't realized that someone else was in the cave with him. It sound like a girl's voice she didn't sound like she had any malice in her voice "Hi" he responded to her, he looked down for a moment then tore a peice of bread and held is hand out offering it to her he wasn't sure if she was hungry or not but it was a nice gesture none the less. |

Eslanna took the small piece of bread. Not many people were willing to share their food in these dark times. The gesture warmed her slightly to whatever male was in the cave with her. If he was willing to offer her food, then he was worth being kind too in turn. She smiled and took a bite,"Umm, thank you. This is great." She smiled and shut her eyes again, leaning her head back against the cool stone. The sound of water dripping down the wall in the corner nearly made her fall asleep. Memories made her eyes shoot open. She knew better than to fall asleep. The monsters would get you if you fell asleep. She smiled,"Eslanna Adair.... you?" |

Gabriel smiled when she took the bread from him, he continued to eat his as he heard her give her thanks "You are welcome" he said to her his voice as deadpan as always, though his kindness was shining through at the moment, he picked up his milk and drank some "It is from the village of Sol, they have great home grown food" he said to her as he reached in his bag and pulled out another bottle of milk, he offered it to her as he finished his bread and leaned his head back as well, it would be a few hours till dawn and it was safe to travel Gabe would use this as a chance for some peace. "Gabriel Isaac..." he said to the girl who introduced herself as Eslanna. |

Eslanna took the milk from Gabriel and bowed her head in thanks. She took a sip of the milk,"Umm, the milk is great as well." Water had been the only thing she had in the last year. The places she had traveled had been too torn by the rages of war to give her much else. The milk was a sort of sweet relief. It was far from the peace she dreamed of every night, but it took her mind off the seemingly endless routine of water and berries. She reached into the small leather pouch she had tied to her belt. Three pieces of the dried meat were left. She took one out and extended it to Gabriel,"Here... I don't have anything else to offer you. It has been a long time since I felt safe enough to go hunting." She closed the bottle of milk and set it dow next to her. The land he had mentioned wasn't one that she was familiar with. Her brow furrowed,"I have never heard of this place called Sol, though you are right. The milk and bread were both amazing." |

Gabriel looked up and smiled he reached out and took the piece of meat from her. "Thank you, I'm glad youlike the milk" he said to her eatting the meat she had given him "Thats good, thank you again" he said to her as he leaned back and drank the rest of his milk, he looked outside it had started raining slightly, Gabe laid his bag down on the ground and reached into it he pulled out a small quilt "Here, in case you get cold" he said handing it to Eslanna he laid his head down on the bag and wrapped his scarf around his arms. "Its a nice village, you should go one day" he told her closing his eyes, he didn't want to seem rude "If you want we can continue talking we can in morning" |

Eslana ate a piece of the meat as well and closed the satchel. She washed it down with the rest of the milk and put the bottle over to the side. A smile brightened her normally dead eyes,"You are welcome." The rain outside made her body relax just a bit. She wouldn't have been able to sleep knowing that the two of them might be found. Because of her fear, the whole night would have been spent staring into the blackness. She laid down on the cold stone floor and covered with the quilt,"Thank you..." She curled up in a tight ball under the quilt,"The morning.. sounds like a plan." Images flickered behind her eyes like they always did before going to sleep. Her father's dead body was laying on her floor. Her mother's dead body was splayed in the marriage bed. Both of them were smiling at her as she danced around the halls. Every year the faces faded a little more in her memory. One day, they might be gone. Her breath leveled as she passed out completely. |
