Kaiber found himself once again traveling through the thick forests of China, searching as an advanced scout. He prefered to work alone, it helped him keep his own pace and doing his things his own way. Besides there were hardly many people who would keep up with his pace.

Turning his attention back to the tracks before him he smirked slightly. They were getting sloppy. That means they were tired, perhaps even exhuasted from their travels. Kaiber had been hunting Volutta's squads all over China, trying to level the playing field. Volutta had set up many traps specifically for him, but thus far he had managed to escape. He still remembered the first one when she had her Ninja's try to bury him under a mountain. It was sheer luck that he had managed to escape the cave through a different exit.

Kaiber hoped she was getting nervous but somehow he doubted it, but it mattered not. As long as he could, inflict damage to the Legion's forces he would continue to do so. His current employment was hunting Volutta's special forces that gave hell to the Freedom Fighter's forces. His job was litterally keeping surprize attacks, as well as hindering oncoming attacks from arriving on time, or being sucessful.

After about a half hour of traveling he finally came to a clearing where the tracks stopped, and it was clear they knew he was following them now, there was no use for stealth at this point. Kaiber slowly emerged from the bamoo into the clearing as a three figures dropped from the tree's above surrounding him.

"Hmpf, finally decided to stand and fight then?" asked Kaiber as he slowly began to reach for the Ninjato. The other figures circled him not speaking at first until finally one of them spoke. "So your Kaiber the Akishimo... Volutta's heard a lot about you, and she's particularly interested in that half blade of yours."

"Save it. As far as I'm conserned, the Legion is as good as dead." said Kaiber as he saw the sudden shift in their stance and quickly threw down as smoke bomb exploding outwards as shuriken flew every which direction through it almost a split second later. As the smoke faded Kaiber was nowhere to be found, and a blade pierced through the one off to the left. The body dropped like a ton of bricks unto the ground, as a whistling sound came from behind it. The chain whipping out at another of them. They blocked with their sword to catch the chain however the ball continued to spin around the sword nailing them in the face.

The last of the enemies came forward at a charge. Kaiber jumped back dodging the horizontal slash by inches and was cuaght across the cheek by a sudden spin that unleashed Shuriken almost point blank. If Kaiber hadn't reacted in time, his face would be full of metal. His cheek's now bleeding he came forward grabbing the man's out streatched arm bending it, and pressing hard upon the palm sending a sharp tingling sensation up his arm. Taking this chance to knock his opponent down by kicking them in the back of the legs, the enemy soon found himself upon on the ground with no one above himself.

Kaiber had taken off past the his first victum and was soon upon his second who was stumbling up from the blunt blow to his face. Kaiber ripped his Ninjato from his first kill and impaled into his next. Pushing the man off the blade he walked back to the other man. As he started to get up Kaiber kicked him deliberately straight in the chest. "I don't think so, you have answers, that I need."

Stabbing the Ninjato into the man's leg to hold him to the ground. Screaming in pain he grabbed his leg before looking at Kaiber and spitting at him. Kaiber's reaction was relentless as he pulled his half blade from it's sheath and slashed the man's arm at his tendon and then stepping onto the other leg he did the same. "You will never hold another weapon, if you so much as look at me wrong again, you will never be able to walk. I can make your life a living hell." said Kaiber as he brought his half blade up to the man's neck.

"Your squads are usually in groups of four. Where is your fourth?" asked Kaiber before the man despite the pain, smiled at him. "Hehe, I didn't think we'd be a match for you so I sent the youngest and swiftest of the group ahead two days ago while we slowed down so you'd run into us first. He went to inform Volutta of the Freedom Fighters current position." said the man before laughing at most likely his genius.

"I must admit your move was good, but you underestimate my determination. I'll sooner kill your messenger in the Legions base then reveal my allies." said Kaiber as his half blade found itself slashing through the man's mouth as he began his insistant laughter which revealed his tongue and his jaws. "Goodbye."

Kaiber's blade slashed through the man's neck as he ran off at a sprint drawing his Ninjato out of the man's leg and continued on sheathing his blades. He would have to make up for lost time, hopefully the Hawk used to communicate with him from the Freedom Fighters returned soon so he could inform them of the situtation.

Ashley was wandering the forest of China. She was not part of the legion or residience Warriors. She was neutral and she had intended to stay like that. She continued through the thick forest, cutting through the thick forest. She heard someone fighting in the background and she turned around and watched the guy fight the other man. She wiped the sweat from her eyebrow and pulled out her water bottle and drank from it. She was thirsty and then she put it back in her bag and adjusted the strap on her bag and slung it back over her back and when she did she lost her balance and fell backwards and landed on her sword, cutting the side of her right leg.

"Damn it," she said as she gritted her teeth and pulled out a bandage from her backpack and wrapped her leg up. "I'll clean it up better later," she muttered to herself.

As Kaiber began to run through the forest almost right away he stumbled upon a female his first thoughts were that of an enemy. His nerves where slightly jumpy as he came forward drawing his blade, but soon saw that she was wounded. Quickly sheathing his sword and holding out his hands to signal he meant no harm, he stopped running.

"Sorry, I was just attacked, I didn't expect to see anyone out here in this forest." said Kaiber who looked down at her wound, it was on the leg, and it must have been fresh for he could smell the scent of blood, however he was unsure of weather that was the blood upon his blade or the blood he saw upon the ground. "Are you hurt? I have some herbs that I can spare to ease the pain."

"That happens sometimes when you least expect it," Ashley said as she looked up and saw the man standing by her looking at her wound. "Yeah I'm hurt," she said as she groaned slightly. "My name's Ashley Sparks. Don't worry I'm not part of the residence or Legion Warriors. I'm neutral so I'm no threat. What's your name?"

Kaiber smirked for a moment, at her comment. "I suppose so," said Kaiber as he leaned slightly against a tree. "Well Ashley Sparks, be glad I am not part of the Legion warriors for they only see things one way. There is them, and their enemies."

Kaiber went into his pack pulled out a few herbs which he began to twist together and then walked forward offering it out to her. "It's a pain killer. These combination of plants are harmless on their own, but with speical combinations of the herbs make them do different things. My village's own recipe." said Kaiber as he finally stopped before her.

"Forgive me, I often forget introductions. My name is Kaiber, sometimes Kaiber the Akishimo." said Kaiber offering the friendlist smile possible, though he found himself not quite trusting her at the moment. Too many traps had caused him not to take chance meetings too lightly. He wiped the blood from the shuriken wounds from his face now holding pressure on them for about twenty seconds to stop the bleeding, while waiting for her responce.

Ashley smirked slightly at Kaiber's comment as she gritted her teeth in pain as she hissed through her teeth. "That's why I intend to stay out of their little affairs for the time being," she said.

She set her sword down and her backpack down as she reached out and took the herbs from Kaiber.

"Thanks Kaiber," she said. She ate the herbs and pulled out a rag from her bag and cleaned off the blood from her sword and put her sword back up in its holder.

She tucked her shoulder-length dark brown hair behind her ears and looked at Kaiber. "So what country are you from?" she asked as her hazel eyes changed to green.

Kaiber nodded slightly in responce to her thanking him, it was something he never expected personally. "There's no need to thank me, may others would have done the same in my place." said Kaiber as she began to throw back her hair. After she asked a question he was taken aback by it, for he wasn't expecting a question about where he came from.

"I come from Japan... or what was once Japan...." said Kaiber trailing off with his voice as he remembered his home in ruins, it had seemed like forever since that day, when it had only been over five years. He had been young then, but that mattered little now.

Ashley shook her head slightly and said, "Not everyone is like that. Some of them are stingy and only care about themselves."

She saw the shocked look on his face and she smirked slightly.

"Wasn't expecting that I take it?" she asked as she laughed softly. "I'm from Japan too. I left home when I was about sixteen and been out on my own since then."

She looked down at her leg and noticed the bandage she had wrapped her leg up with was coming off and she sighed. "Damn it," she said.

She grabbed her backpack and pulled out a new bandage and she poured some water on a rag to clean her wound and then she put the fresh bandage on her leg tightly. "There that should do it," she said.

Then she looked back at Kaiber.

"So what brings you out here?" she asked.

"That's been the story these days.... the young defend for themselves." said Kaiber choosing not to respond to her comment about stingy people. "I'm only half Japanese however, my father was of European descent."

She had to redo the bandage to clean her wound and he turned to face away, which was a common jesture of respect. She then asked him what he was doing out here.

"I'm not one to mince words, so I will be frank with you. I am out here to kill. It's been my life since I was fourteen. The Legion took my sister, and then my family. They can never give me back what I have lost, so I will take from them, what they desire. I am currently working with the Freedom fighters keeping Volutta's hidden agents from unleashing ambushes and surprize attacks upon the freedom fighters." said Kaiber, as he turned around back to face her. "My honor has set me on a quest, one that I must see through until the end." He was then silent, adding to the sence of determination.

Ashley nodded and said, "Both my parents are Japanese. They own their own business. I'm their only child."

She listened to what Kaiber said about the Legion taking his sister away and then took his family. "Sorry about your lost," she said. "As far as I know my family may or may not be still alive.

She was feeling lightheaded for some reason and she tilted her head back and closed her eyes as she laid her head on the ground. Must be from the painkiller, she thought. Or from the pain. She opened her eyes and noticed the sun was setting in the sky. She groaned some as she moved her injured leg and then she sat up and reached into her bag and pulled out a few herbs and mashed them together to make a substance to help heal the infection on her wound. She rewrapped her leg up.

"Well looks like I ain't traveling anywhere else tonight. Not with this leg anyway," she said as she gritted her teeth. "Damn it. Oh well I can rough it." She looked around for a good place to make a camp.

She sat up and knelt on her knees and grabbed a sheet from her bag and a few stakes. Her green eyes changed to hazel as she looked at Kaiber. The wind blew her hair slightly.

"Laugh if I fall over and I will hurt you," she teased as she got up. Her right leg felt like lead and she fell back down. She stomped her foot to wake it up. "I think I made it numb," she said.
