Hi everyone! I've finally decided when we should officially start the podcast; next week I'm going to France for a week, but when I get back (either on that weekend - so the weekend after next - or the weekend after), I'd be up for recording our first episode! We've had a long time to think about it and I believe that the next week and a half (especially since I have my next week on holiday) should be enough to get our ideas together for Episode 1. So unless there are scheduling issues - it's quite fluid and free to move around, so do say if there are any problems - we could get our first episode recorded by early November. As this is our intro show I don't think we need to pump this full of epic discussion... just give a good taste of what's to come. Naturally it won't be our best quality show, but it can only get better and if we prepare what we're going to discuss then there will hopefully be fewer problems (and I'll edit out any particularly awkward pauses). I propose that Episode 1 feature: Show Intro - Standard intro where we give our names (I think we agreed that we'd introduce ourselves by BZP names AND first names, for the first few shows at least) and give a brief synopsis of what we'll be discussing, perhaps accompanied by some random banter/corny British jokes. Introductions - As it's the first show we should probably all introduce ourselves to the listeners and talk a little bit about how the show came together. News and News Discussion (from BZPower) - including coverage and thoughts on updates to Takanuva Blog, online videos, story serials etc... this can be quite a broad spectrum of discussion, we're not just reading out the news. Main Discussion - we still need to pick a topic for this but I've heard several ideas, ranging from how BIONICLE has evolved from 2001 to 2008 (although that would probably be better for our final show of 2008, as we celebrate eight years of BIONICLE) to discussions about the various music featured throughout the years. I think we need to go for a popular topic for our first episode... online games, maybe? Let's hear some ideas! Our BZP Favourites - Joey's idea for a segment which I think is good; we choose and promote a certain topic/comic/fanfic/fanart/etc from BZP... just to encourage and promote more co-operation with the forums. Next Week - This is important - we'll need to think of what we'll discuss on the NEXT episode (let's be realistic and say that we'd record it a fortnight after, perhaps? But we won't necessarily give a date) and tell the audience, so that they could send in anything which we could bring up, read out, play, and discuss on the next episode. I'll update this list as we pin down topics and eventually we'll have a concise schedule by the time we record... Thanks for sticking with me, I know that we can make this work!

I have to admit, it's a great idea. I like it. A lot. I won't really be free this weekend, but I'll check with the other weekends. |

Awesome Stuff. Unfortunately I'm quite busy until the first week of November (so, just until not this, but next Saturday--infact November 1st looks like it's very good for me) We still do need a name. I agree with what you said on our current one... it doesn't quite fit... What if we were The Chronicler's Company. It's kinda a spin off of the name we had and of course the fact that there's more than on of us... and yes, of course the name comes from Takua's group in the MNOLG1. =P Oh, do remember we do need to stay away from Copyrighted terms such as BIONICLE (or Bionicle Character's names--Takua, Tahu, Jaller-- you know) and LEGO in the title of the show. LEGO is kinda picky about their name and stuff. We also probably should have a disclaimer at the end of the show saying we're not affiliated with the LEGO group of companies in anyway shape or from and that this is just a fan podcast. (I think we can do something fun with this--we could have each of us say a line of the disclaimer... We can have that prerecored and stick it on at the end of each show) |

It is a great idea, apart from the copyrighted name. But I still like that name. Also, that thing about the rights at the end of each episode would be cool and funny as well. |

Oh guys I also think we should follow some basic guidelines... I just think these will make our show better and more appealing to our audience:
I think that's it--if you guys think of anything else we shouldn't do feel free to add on LOL Edited by Tek, Oct 25 2008, 12:52 AM.

I agree with those rules - one thing to clarify is that if, just if, one of us should slip up and say something that could cause offence or wouldn't be allowed on BZP, then I can always edit it out of the recording... so it's not the absolute end of the world. But obviously we should try to avoid this. The spoiler policy is always going to be a tough one - I think that, as BZP will (at first, anyway) be our primary audience that we should indeed follow their rules... I agree that we should be allowed to discuss things that are currently marked with a spoiler warning on BZP (though not things that are outright not permitted), as long as we give significant warnings on the show. Maybe a pre-recorded spoiler warning at the start of the episode, followed by one just before we discuss the spoilers within the show? And you know what? I love The Chronicler's Company as a showname. It's simple yet catchy, and it doesn't break any copyright laws. And as you also pointed out, it has some thematic links to the Voice of the Chronicler name, yet I think it manages to fit so much better. Thanks! We can't stumble around looking for a name forever, so if we're all in agreement, should that be our official name? |

Yeah, that is true we can do some editing on the show if need be =D Yeah, I think we can come up with a spoiler alret sound effect. It could be kinda funny, yet still give the warning required =D And Yes, The More I think about "The Chronicler's Company" the more I tend to like it as well =D |
