Undoubtedly, we have a podcast on our hands. The most important thing about a podcast is the content--and we have that-- infact I'm convinced that we could go on for at least 3 hours and still be (mostly!) on topic. That's saying something. =P However, there are some things we can do to make our Podcast even better. First off, I think we need some sort of Bumper Music. I think we can and probably should have music to start the show out and also to end it. (Listen to a currant show from LAML if you want an example.) Now, here is the tricky part. I also think it's possible that we do little breaks in the show. We could do 'em, say, every 15 minutes. So we could do hour long shows with 3 1-minute breaks every 15 minutes. those breaks would not only give us time to pause between recording and stuff, but they would also allow us to insert little "commercials" or whatever (things we want to promote--James from LAML radio could do a little 30 second thing saying he's proud to host us or whatever--I'm sure we'll think of stuff). Another thing the breaks would allow for us to do is to make sure we stay on topic and keep our focus. We'll only have 15 or so minutes (or whatever we decide) or so the get all our discussion in on our topic (be it news or our BZP Favorites or what ever) so this helps us keep the goal in mind. Plus, if we encourage donation to LAML in one of our breaks we may even be able to help James out with finances, or maybe a site like BZP would like to come along and donate if they can get a little plug for a contest or just their site in general or whatever. I'll make a list of break ideas later on in this topic... Anyway, I think it would be cool if the whole show looked like this: 1st Segment [15:00]
1st Break [1:00] These Breaks will fill up as time goes on. See below for break ideas, though 2nd Segment [14:00]
2nd Break [1:00] These Breaks will fill up as time goes on. See below for break ideas, though 3rd Segment [14:00]
3rd Break [1:00] These Breaks will fill up as time goes on. See below for break ideas, though 4th Segment [14:00]
Total time [1:00:00] (Hopefully!) I really think that this is easy to do. Recoding is easy. on Skype it's easy. We'll just record 4 15 minute(-ish) segments and I can edit them and patch them together with the little break segments in between. Break Ideas
I think we can have some fun with these. Of course if we do get plugs from people we can work with them either letting them do something themselves or editing/ recording something for them. and with all of our different voices we can mix things up a bit. (oh and if you guys have ideas feel free to share!) Another thing I'd like to address is the number of hosts. the show we did with all of us was okay, but I think if we cut down the number of hosts per show it would be better for the show, and better in quality. My suggestion is let's do 2 hosts per show. Occasionally I think we can do 3 but I think 2 is optimum. With 2 hosts we'll get dialog and discussion, but it will be easier to stay on track and stay focused. I think it will make our shows not boring and not off topic. I do want your thoughts on this though, this does mean that not everyone will be in every show... So I guess in summery I have 3 suggestions: Bumper Music, Breaks every 15ish minutes and only 2 hosts. Discuss! //.Joey |

Good ideas! I agree wholeheartedly, having breaks makes sense and will allow us to maintain our focus, and an intro/outro jingle is a must, to help us sound more professional. As for the number of hosts, I agree that having five per episode (at least at this early stage) is a bit much, but I'd personally say that 3 is the optimum number of hosts each episode, simply so that it's more of a discussion rather than a conversation. Not that there's anything wrong with that, and it certainly wouldn't be boring, but I think that if we can get a mix of views on different topics then more fruitful discussion is possible, rather than having discussions more limited to one of us introducing a topic and the other one giving their thoughts, and the two hosts asking eachother questions about the topic. But either way, I agree that it's best not to go over that number, and obviously it depends on how many hosts we can get for each episode. If we manage to get everyone back then there's gonna be an issue of who records what show - we could do some sort of rotor or schedule, but given our woolly track record of sticking to recording schedules and showing up on time for the recording, it may simply be a case of working out among ourselves who's gonna do the next episode, like seeing who could make it, who isn't too bothered etc. |

Heh, I think I have some Ideas for the bumper music... I have the stuff that came on the powerpack CD, and I was thinking maybe we could use that... I also have some tracks ripped from the MNOLG(1) itself. Those would also be fun to use =P 3 hosts is fine. I agree, it may be more of a discussion then. And, yeah, that number can be flexible depending on schedules and stuff, I agree =D I Think just working it out for each episode is our best bet. That gives us the most flexibility and all, plus, if you want to be in an ep all you have to do is ask =P It's good to be back =P p.s. I sent off PMs to Pablo and Deanna telling them we're all here and active again =D |

We just have to include some MNOLG music in the show's themes... forgive the old-skool fanboyishness (there's no way that's a real word...), but few things say "BIONICLE" to me more than the classic themes. And the music from the PowerPack is seriously cool too, so that's good. Also I remember that there was this promotional BIONICLE Nestle CD-ROM that, as far as I know, was only released in the UK - it had a hidden fourth track (different from "The BIONICLE Music", "Hura Mafa Flow" and "Kumo Rocks") which was done by the same artists, I'll try and see if I can find that again. |

Fwaa!~ Here I am! Okay. I think MNOLG music would be amazing! ^^ Maybe even some background music later on. >:D Anyway. I think 3 hosts would definately be perfect. And a section with fanmail, and such. *is excited* So, lets do this. Shall we set up a date? |

I know--Its gonna be awesome =P Sometime I'm gonna try and throw together a shop sample using the bumper music I have just so everyone can get a feel for my Plan. I think the MNOLG and Powepack tracks cover the amount of music we would need for a show, so the basics should be covered =D We can't quite set a date yet because I haven't heard back form James. Once we set up the hosting situation we can start the show officially. In the meantime though we can make some break segments--so we'll be able to put some in our first show =D //.Joey Edited by Tek, Mar 7 2009, 11:50 PM.
