The Verdai Forest The “Principala Stradai” The Verdai Forest is a secluded, lush, green forest, located deep in the middle of the continent. There is one main path out of the forest, the “Principala Stradai”, leading to the nearest town, but it’s a long walk, and bandits often hide out on the road, pouncing on travelers. It’s recommended that people traveling on the road have Pokémon to protect them, or to travel in groups. Wild Pokémon also attack people on the road, and there are frequent sightings of Flying and Normal Pokémon. Verdai Forest In the forest, however, the trees grow so well, tended to by the grass Pokémon living within the confines of the forest, that they branch out, with tree branches from trees growing to having a thirty-foot span, and the density of the trees allows little sunlight to filter down to the forest floor below. The dappled sunlight means that many Pokémon take to hiding out on the floor, camouflaged, ready to pounce on unexpecting trainers. There is a multitude of Grass, Bug, the occasional Flying type and on dark moonless nights, Dark Pokémon crawl out of the shadows. There is one main route through the forest, however, there are several paths splitting off the main, and these lead to several places. The Azzurro Spring If you take the immediate right path that you come to upon entering the forest, you come to the Azzurro Spring, a deep pool filled with crystal clear water that sparkles when the little sunlight hits it. The Azzurro Spring is the main source of water for many Pokémon in the forest, and as such, if you go to the Spring in the early morning or evening, you will find a multitude of Pokémon from the forest gathered there, drinking. This is often the only time that certain rare Pokémon are to be seen in the forest, and there are rumours that with the Spring water being so pure, that any Pokémon supping from it will be instantly healed. Some Water type Pokémon are to be found in the Spring. The Chiaro di Luna Cave Right in the centre of the Verdai Forest, a tunnel burrows into the side of a bank, opening up into a network of caverns deep below the ground. The caverns grow mysteriously colder the deeper in you get, eventually becoming icily cold. Stalactites burrow up from the ground, and stalegmites hang from the roof, their razor sharp points gleaming in the half-light. Water also runs into the cave from above the ground, so many pools can be found. Explorers and bandits are the only people that lurk down here, but a multitude of Ice, Rock, Ground and Fighting Pokémon can be found. You can either come down here to explore for yourself, to solve the mystery of the freezing atmosphere or perhaps be sent here on errands by the villagers or herbalists. And there are reports of some sort of group using this place as a hideout, for some nefarious scheme... The Fiorai Hamlet However, if you decide to take the path that’s on the first left, you end up in this little hamlet, just on the outskirts of the forest. The people don’t take kindly to strangers, however, and you have to fight a battle to prove your worth on entering. There isn’t much to be seen here, except for an herbalist, who sells wares made from stuff found in the forest. The products may cost a little more than those found in the shops, but the herbalist has worked on eradicating the bitter taste that most herbal products have, and Pokémon will no longer hate you for giving them to you. You can also purchase Berries from here. The herbalist likes to send trainers out on trips into the forest looking for more ingredients for her, or Berries, and she often allows them to keep a cut of what they’ve found. Herbalist’s Shop Honey, $100 (can be used in the forest to attract certain Pokémon) Energy Root, $350 (restores 50 HP on a Pokémon) Energy Powder, $800 (restores 200 HP on a Pokémon) Heal Powder, $750 (restores 40 HP and heals the Pokémon of any status conditions) Oran Berry, $50 each (restores 10HP on a Pokémon, can be held by the Pokémon) Sitrus Berry, $100 each (restores 30 HP on a Pokémon, can be held by the Pokémon) Chesto Berry, $200 each (the smell of it acts as a stimulant, waking up a sleeping Pokémon) Pecha Berry, $200 each (contains an antidote, combating poison, healing a Poisoned Pokémon) Persim Berry, $200 each (contains something vile smelling, snapping a Pokémon out of confusion) Lum Berry, $300 each (heals a Pokémon of all status problems, must complete a quest for the herbalist before they become available) You can also take tasks for other people living in the hamlet, such as collecting items and resources from the forest… There’s no saying to how they’ll reward you, though, with you being given anything from an item to money to a Pokémon Battle… Or even a Pokémon, if you take on a particularly perilous job… ------- Of course, as you explore in this RP, you might find that you discover new areas to explore, which will then be added to the above list. |

(yay, activity in here) Kaze:- Items:- $3000, 5 Pokéballs, 1 Potion Pokémon Lv. 5 HP:- 20/20 Moves:- Defence Curl/Water Gun/Powder Snow/Growl After taking a moment to read the sign announcing the name of the forest, the "Verdai Forest", outside the entrance to the forest, Kaze and his Spheal, Ballrus, entered, and walked along the pathway of the forest, the Principala Stradai, making soft rustling noises as their feet moved through the deep leaf litter on the floor. Although nothing of mention happened to the duo in during the first few minutes of tracking through the forest, Kaze suddenly noticed a flash of dark blue against the dull brown of the forest floor. Motioning to his Spheal, he pointed out the objects. Without warning, Ballrus suddenly darted over to the items, and picked them up. Will Kaze go over to Ballrus to investigate the items or call to Ballrus and ask him to drop them, so they can carry on their journey? |

Looking at them, they seemed to be some form of Berry, and as far as Kaze could remember, the only berries he could recall that took that colour were Oran Berries. Kaze has obtained 5 Oran Berries! ![]() Once Kaze had pocketed the berries, he heard a chirping coming from some place nearby. Looking in the source of the noise, he spotted a small Pokémon, glaring at Ballrus. Obviously, this Pokémon, Spearow, had wanted to lay a claim to the berries, but now decided to challenge Ballrus for them. Will you accept this challenge? |

"Use Defence Curl, then hit it with a Water Gun, then wait, Ballrus!" Hearing this, Ballrus nodded, and focused, then tightly curled up into a ball, though the Spearow seemed to have anticipated this, and flew into the air to prepare a strike. Giving a screech, the Spearow dived down, pecking Ballrus in the back, causing Ballrus to uncurl, and the bird landed on the ground, a few feet away from Ballrus, who sucked in some air, before retaliating by squirting a quick gush of cold water at the Spearow, who seemed a bit irked at becoming soaked through to its downy feathers, meaning it wouldn't be able to fly quite easily as it had been. |

Ballrus's reply to this was to growl at the Spearow, who retaliated with jabbing its beak into Ballrus, although the attack lacked the power of before. Ballrus then quickly hit the Spearow with another jet of water, and the Spearow was knocked back a few feet. |

Sensing this as an opportunity, Kaze quickly whipped out a Pokéball, and threw it at the, currently, downed bird. The little bird Pokémon was enveloped in a bright red light. Within a few seconds, the Spearow was swallowed by the ball, and it shook. Once, twice, more vigorously on the third time, but Spearow seemed to realise it was a losing battle, and gave up. Congrats! Within a few minutes of walking, Kaze came up to a sign post, one direction pointing deeper into the lush forest, and the other pointing down the Principala Stradai, and he decided to travel along the long, stretching road that would eventually lead towards the nearest town in this desolated, free of civilisation, barring the odd hamlet, area. As Kaze walked along the road, he noticed a man laying on the road, seeming injured. The man turned his head, and moaned, motioning for Kaze to come over to him. Will Kaze be a good Samaritan and try to help, or be the clergy man that ignores the man? |

(update your siggy with the Spearow info, yo) Kaze:- Items:- $3000, 4 , 1 , 5 ![]() Pokémon Lv. 5 HP:- 16/20 Moves:- Defence Curl/Water Gun/Powder Snow/Growl (Windy)Lv. 5 HP:- 22/22 Moves:- Peck/Growl/Leer Once he'd decided to go over to this man, and help him, Kaze asked Ballrus and Windy to watch the area for potential trouble. Calling to the man "Whats s wrong?", Kaze heard a faint, but recognisable answer. "I... was... attacked..." Kaze moved closer to the man, until he was kneeling down beside him, he could see that the man was starting to lose the thread of what he was saying, as he drifted in and out of consciousness. "This road... Has bandits often... They attack whoever they think... might have something on them... It would be best for you to hurry, I'll be... Left alone, as I have nothing of worth on me..." After this, the man collapsed, and fell the short distance he'd managed to haul himself, to the floor, his face etched with agony. As Kaze started to look for any visible injuries, Windy squawked, "Spear! Row! Row!", and flapped in the direction of something that was moving closer to them, further ahead, off the main path. Looking at the man, Kaze knew he had two choices; leave the man, and hope that he'd be okay, as he'd said and see what the movement ahead was about, or stay and wait for the movement to come to them. |

After several tense moments, the thing sharpened in clarity, and the thing turned out to be a man, glaring at Kaze, holding a Pokéball up. Kaze took a further look at the man, drinking in his details, noting that the man was dressed in a dull black garb, and a grey bandanna. He seemed to be scowling at Kaze, as if to say "why are you near my prey?", and held a Pokéball aloft, obviously challenging Kaze. The man came to a halt, standing a foot away from Kaze's face, and growled, "Nor my name or business on this road is of any consequence to someone as... Insignificant as you, but if you'll care to interfere, I must... Ahh, dispose of you". With that, he released the Pokémon in his Pokéball, and shouted "Mankey! By any means necessary, defeat this pathetic blue blob that this "trainer" here calls a Pokémon! We'll show him what is meant by 'Pokémon'!" And with that, the Mankey launched itself at Ballrus, a predatory snarl disfiguring its face. Kaze is now fighting this man's Mankey. ![]() Lv. 7 HP:- 26/26 |

"Windy! Use Peck!" Kaze screamed, "Then once that's done, try to loop round the back, and hit it with a Water Gun, Ballrus!" Windy focused for a moment, then jabbed its beak into the Mankey, causing it to take a step back from the sharp beak. However, despite this, the strange man didn't falter. "Mankey! Use Low Kick, take that blue blob down!" With that, the Mankey lashed out at Ballrus, hoping to make a dent in its blubbery body, and before Ballrus had a chance to react, the kick connected, causing Ballrus to wince in pain, and miss its chance to attack. The Mankey then managed to spun around with lightning speed, and grabbed Ballrus by the flipper, quickly delivering another Low Kick attack, though it left the Mankey open for an attack from Ballrus, who saw its chance, and blasted the Mankey away with a quick water Gun. Ballrus and Windy then regrouped together in the time that the Mankey spent picking itself off the floor, awaiting more orders from Kaze. ![]() Lv. 7 HP:- 15/26 |

Breach the outersphere, the edge of all our fears
|
Woo, I filled out my character bio thingy almost two weeks ago, and I'm just now getting to this. Man, soulsilver really did drain my life for the past two weeks. Anyways... Endy stares into the blank distance. After a long period of silence, he finally comes to a decision. "Well seems like this Principala Stradai path seems pretty straightforward to get out of here. Lets go, Mareep." Endy said. "Mar! Mar!" Mareep cheerfully said as the two of them started walking down the trail. Edit: Everything put in spoilers, except for Mareep's HP, since I don't know that. Guessing it's around 19 or 20 though. Since I did this at 1:30am, chances are I left something else out due to being braindead. Edited by Endy, Apr 2 2010, 06:29 AM.
