"I'm afraid that it is impossible to retrieve the information," Melai shook his head, "You see, when someone finds Terra Gamma, they are either kicked back off it if they are unwelcome, and they will most likely never be able to find it again, or they have the tracking-program installed on their spaceships navigational computers. However, with the tracking-system there is also installed a self-destruction progress that will activate the moment someone is trying to move the tracking-program or the computer... otherwise, the Empire would just have to capture some random space-pirate and take the information from his computer, and they would know where pretty much every outlaw in the galaxy lived. No, only the Rey can find it.
As for why the Imperial soldiers are worse... well, there are billions of them, for one thing, and they are all equipped with communicational devices, so if one is attacked, a hundred more will soon arrive. And they are heavily armed, for another thing, wielding the newest in weapons technology... well, within human capacity, anyways. And they are highly trained to handle any kind of situation - they are marksmen and pilots the whole bunch of them."

He gestured towards the entrance. "Well, Talon, what do you say? You know these whoever-those-people-are better than we do. Would it work if the..." Melai tried remembering what the creatures race or name was, but he could not seem to recall it... and another thing was that he could not tell the being's sex either, so he could not even say 'gentleman' or 'lady'. "...the alien just put its ship down on top of them?"

"Self destruction? That makes things a lot more complicated, true. Mine won't give no information to anyone... Except for me of course. It also follows only my orders, no matter who is holding the control. Each of our ships is programmed to obey only its owner, when it is first made, it can't be changed- Of course, it is only about personal ships. When no-one could possibly retrieve the information, then..."
Zet'kil made a motion that equaled shrug.
"I don't really get the part of finding the planet. You don't have to go near it to discover its existence. I should have most of the larger objects in this galaxy in my ship's computer, but... Finding one thing out of so many others when we both have different names for it... It is hard case indeed."

Most of what the man told him about the Imperial soldiers, she had already guessed right. She did doubt in human newest technology, though. As for billions of soldiers... That was quite a many, taking the number of all humans into consideration. Even strangely much, when she tried to calculate how many it did make in percents. There were only about fifty billion humans overall.
"That seems to be a lot. There aren't too many humans in the universe after all, especially when compared to us.
I don't personally think that a good communication is something mentionable, as I am grown to be used to it. I can easily make contact with whoever I wish, or at least others of my kind who have ships. Though I highly doubt that I am able to call here a few hundreds of TS6-ships of any kind. I don't have that much influence over the others after all, even when they wouldn't like when someone would decide to blow me up."
As for what she could call herself- she had no clear idea.

She turned her head a little bit, so her rather large area of view centered wit the man who was to decide what should she ask the ship to do.
Meanwhile, she also ordered the thing to change the inner conditions to match the atmosphere outside and confirmed the order, to see it flash the word "Done." on the control after a few seconds.

((The ship is 22 meters long, 7.4(+0.5) meters wide and 6.6 meters high. (The picture on third page is a little out of proportions.) The rooms on the ship are about 2.08 meters high, and most of the living rooms are placed on the second lever, as most of the two other levers are even more filled with engines/fuel tanks etc. I will add additional information about the ship and rooms on it later when we enter it, mostly in my post.))
A thought can create a world, but only a word written down can ensure its existence.

-When I am physically capable of doing something it doesn't mean I can do it. When I can, it doesn't mean that I should. When I should, it doesn't mean that I must. When I must, it doesn't mean that I will.
-I might not always know where I currently am, but I am never lost. I know in which direction my destination lies.
-There is no faith in knowing. I prefer to know, as only in this way can I be certain in my decisions.
-The more people you ask a question the higher the chance that at least one of them is right.
-Make me walk on walls, don't force me to dance according to others' will.
-I agree that life can be depressing at times. I just choose to ignore it.
-I don't figure over possibilities. I want, I can, I do.

"Well, welcome to the milky way!" Melai grinned with a gesture towards the Xeian, "The Empire is what rules most of humankind - actually there are less than one hundreth of a percent of all humans that are outlawed, like I am. And just about all companies and occupations were shut down after we evacuated Earth, or so I've been told. Now pretty much everything is handled directly by the Empire - scientists, merchants and different factories all go under the Empire's area. And since only very few merchants are needed with the enormous trading ships they're building and factories are mostly automatic today, just about everyone that aren't smart enough to become a scientist becomes and Imperial soldier or gets a local, ill-paid job. Most obviously choose to work with the Empire. It's just the better business."

Melai sighed, thinking back to when the Empire had contacted him on his fifteenth birthday in Earth-years. They had not presented him with any choice because of the special circumstances... but Melai had chosen not to join the Imperial fleet, despite the fact that he was offered a high position as an officer. That was fourteen Earth-years ago now, and only one year after, Melai had bought the Rey and started as captain of his very own pirate crew. He hoped the Empire had not finally gotten him here, on this distant, largely isolated planet...

As he listened to the entire conversation Talon began to develop a splitting headache. These people were crazy at best. They were talking about just setting a ship down on a planet that wasn't allowing ships to move. On top of people no less, they would definitely be noticed that way. The bright side of the entire thing was they would probably be more useful and easier to manipulate than people who had all there screws in tight. Shrugging at the question he simply waved his hand in compliance.
"You could definitely take them out that way if you just landed your fucking ship on them. The only problem I see is that it would draw a lot of attention to us. I'm not sure if the lot of you care, but I don't really want my parents to hear about my exploits." He put heavy emphasis on the last word, with a good enough lawyer they could take away his money and leave him helpless.

He would leave the decision to them however, they were the experts at this kind of thing as he saw it. Quite the dangerous bunch, but definitely entertaining ones. If they didn't protect him he would probably die anyway. Somehow he had managed to lose his shakes and regain some composure, something he was grateful for.
"I mourn that which may have been but will never be."

"Stupidity is a wound that bleeds forever; Intelligence is a blade that stays forever sharp"

"An armed man will kill and unarmed man with monotonous regularity"

"Nothing adds a little class to a sniper course like a babe in a Ghillie suit."

"You have the rest of your life to solve your problems. How long you live depends on how well you do it."

"Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets. I may get killed with my own gun, but he's gonna have to beat me to death with it, 'cause it's going to be empty."

Emerson listened to the mantis' story half-heartedly, up until the point it mentioned having formerly employed to take out its own kind. He was intrigued by the prospect. Raising his eyebrow, he spoke. "I see you do have guts, after all. I could use someone like you in my campaign. How would you like to be employed to serve the Empire? You could put your... unique talents into practice, and be awarded credits, loot and recognition for your efforts."

Perhaps there was hope, after all. An indistinguishable smirk stretched across his face as he thought about the prospect. What better, than to have one bug kill another? "Divide et impera", he uttered quietly, citing one of the quotes he was taught back in Academy.

The Silencer looked at the captain with suspicion. "What is this campain that you are talking about? Whatever this campain you are talking, it will cost you. I usually need to be paid 500 gold per contract, and all the loot I get from my kills." He picked up his backpack and headed back towards his ship. He heard the captain speak quietly before he left.

"Divide et impera"

Shadow-claw turns around and faces him. "Ah... a famous Latin quote. I'm guessing 'Divide and conquer' as its meaning." The Silencer smirked at the human. "I'll go get my ship... I'll be back in about half an hour..." With that, he activated the micro-organisms, and ran off to the mercenary house.

Fatigue burned his limbs and made his breath came out in rasping gasps. He dare not stop for a quick breather. The Oris hunting pack was getting nearer and nearer. Numbed by pain, his pincer accidentally let go of the huge Rattatula he was dragging along. The sudden shift in momentum caught him by surprise and he just barely managed to stop himself from falling face flat into a the soft jungle soil. Cursing silently, he whipped around and reached for the mangled corpse of the mutated beast - and quickly withdrew his pincer as a glob of acidic goo splattered against the body of the mammal. Skar'kraail didn't need to look up to know that the Ori had caught up with him, being the only species that is able to spit acidic saliva.

Dodging another glob of sizzling goo, he leapt into the closure of a nearby tree and immediately disappeared, the micro-organisms on his body melding him into the surroundings. It wasn't enough. Leaves and branches hissed and sizzled as a volley of corrosive spit shot into the tree, punching holes into the dense vegetation. Skar'kraail barely got out in time before he too was perforated with acid.

Skar'kraail landed next to a large tree bough. His cover now compromised and with no other option but to fight, he gritted his molars, knowing fully well that this fight would be his last but intending to make it worth his while. "Bring it you slimy gits!" The first Oris that flew over to meet him made contact with his cleaving scythe and got sliced apart in mere seconds, it's limbs flung off in random directions. The second mutated roach that rushed him also met the same demise. However, the whole swarm soon descended upon him, attacking from all sides.

Exhausted from his attempt at dragging the large mammal during his failed escape and with daylight quickly dwindling away, Skar'kraail was at a disadvantage. With fatigue, lack of sight and superior numbers taking its toll on him, it wasn't long before he was taken down. Nvertheless, he made them pay dearly for his life. More than half a dozen dead Ori lay scattered among the dense jungle undergrowth, their innards soaking into the soil of the land, their rotting, decaying smell fetid and putrid. Skar'kraail would've smiled if he could, but a swipe from one of the now dead Ori had disemboweled his bottom jaw and gashed his face severely.

As he lay there, prone and helpless as the remainders of the Ori hunting pack closed in, he wept for not being able to be there for his newly-formed clan. Yet, he had lived well, fought well, and was all that mattered. Skar'kraail was still giving thanks to his life when a large Oris had crept up to him and with one bite from its vicious mandibles, decapitated him, ending his life for good.
Some people blame our generation, but have they ever stopped to think, who raised us??
Erasing yourself from someone's life is not as simple as walking out of the door.

Theyr leaned further forward for a better view over the scene, not noticing that she neglected her backing. The two figures beneath her seemed to have some secrets, or at least some confidentialities. Too bad that she could only do lip-reading on her own species.

The next moment the Silencer disappeared. Theyr closed her eyes and counted to ten to be sure that the bug was out of eye sight before she lapsed down the wall and landed soundlessly on a spur a few meters further down. She mumbled a soft prayer to any god who might hear her to beg that no-one had noticed her. It was seldom that anyone not of her race could differ one Scorpio from another, but Theyr was one of the unfortunates who were cursed with a white front. And the headscarf was doubtlessly conspicuous.

Well, there was nothing she could do about it now. At least she could hear what the two creatures were talking about. At least if my usual luck forgets me for a moment and doesn’t make the bastard leave now…
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.

The Empire is what rules most of humankind.
"So Empire is... Some kind of organization of humans which consists mostly of soldiers and makes decisions?"
She wondered what did they do with so many soldiers, fought against the insectoids? Hunted the ones the man called "outlawed"? Perhaps.
"I do hope that you don't mind me asking so many questions- especially those any human would think to be obvious. I am probably the first Xeian to talk to a human, after all...
Oh... And I wanted to ask why did humans first leave the planet you call "Earth". There was a war that made living on it impossible, we thought when we first visited the planet that was empty and dead on the moment back there. We didn't stay there more than a few days, so we didn't notice that some of you had managed to leave, we rediscovered the small civilizations only a relatively short time ago... War between humans, wasn't it? Why was it started?"

"You could definitely take them out that way if you just landed your fucking ship on them. The only problem I see is that it would draw a lot of attention to us. I'm not sure if the lot of you care, but I don't really want my parents to hear about my exploits."

"I can give then a short time to get out of the way. And I think they won't stand there and wait to be crushed by the ship, when I give them the chance." Zet'kil pointed out. "Besides, I don't think that it will draw more attention to itself than an open fight would. A spaceship can't be that rare sight, now can it?"
