The three blips coalesced into one, shortly vanishing from his senses.

Emerson's eyes narrowed in intrigue at the sight. At one point, he wondered whether he should report his findings to the rest of the fleet and Admiral Reed. But for some reason, he decided on letting them off the hook for now.
He could always catch and detain them later.

And why go through all this trouble, just to land on Earth?
There was bound to be something of importance down there, worth risking their lives for. And if that was the case, Emerson could easily obtain that something, simply by waiting for the right opportunity. A smile appeared on his face as he traced the object, guessing its position simply by taking the recorded heading and speed of the object, then extending it.

Just then, he heard the admiral's voice. Probably through a regular comms channel, that sounded to him as if it were a whisper, a voice at the back of his head. Still, he could clearly hear and define each word.

It started.

And he would be foolish to disobey orders.
Steadily taking the ship around the Moon's orbit, right where he knew he would end up on an intercept course with the bogey. He did not intend to ram the Apollyon into them, of course. Surely, they would evade, being a much smaller, agile craft. But he would give them the right spook, that would take away much of their confidence. And if his hunch was correct, they would also recognize the Apollyon.
And that was exactly what he was aiming for.

Meanwhile, deep inside the bowels of the ship, reactors were firing up. Streams of plasma ran into them from large generators. Miles of cables and tubes all lining up, leading into the house-sized industrial vat that served as a collector for the plasma.
Once the vat was fully charged, white bolts of lightning dancing all around it, a deep, loud rumbling sound could be heard. The vat then slowly began its ascent upward in a leftward circular motion. Soon, another vat emerged from below via a revolver mechanism of gargantuan proportions. And as the next vat was getting charged, the one on top slid into position, next to a large, round tube that seemed to go on forever.

Electrical and hydraulic connections were made, as the vat was securely locked into place. Shortly after, the electrical grounding relays were released, which caused the vat to steadily convey all its gathered power into the tube. Lights turned up, rushing across the entirety of the tube, energizing it as they went. The humming of the huge turbines lined up across the length of the tube could be heard, as they fired up. These powered the cooling systems of the cannon.

The same procedure happened at four other, different places of the ship, in the exact same fashion and order. And in no-time, the five ion cannons at the ship's bow started to glow with a bright, brilliant blue.

Everyone appeared to be on board, even Derthadgan seemed to have joined them, having first equipped himself with all kinds of various things. No reason to wait any longer. The ship seemed to be rather crowded for now, given that they all were on second level of the ship. Zet'kil made a few of the walls to disappear by sliding either to the side or upwards- not that it would have given much more actual space, but it at least seemingly gave the effect of a larger empty room, especially combined to the fact that the large screen still seemed completely invisible looked from the inside.

The little ship stirred at the Xeian's command and started to move towards the ground, relatively slowly, as this time it didn't use any of the larger engines which would've produced heat- another thing which could have given them away under given circumstances.
Still, even like that, it didn't take long for the ship to reach the thin edges of Earth's atmosphere, where Zet'kil seemed to stop the ship for a time, intently looking at one of the many screens, which now only showed the information coming from the outside, as the ship didn't send out no signals by itself.
This could not be that they had been noticed?! The ship was as good as not there... But no. The tiny ships the battlecruisers deployed, as well as the other signs of readying themselves for battle were not because of them. It could possibly mean only one- that the attack on Earth had begun. It was just another small battle in the war going on between the humans and the insectoid races.

The small ship started moving again, perhaps even slower than before, soundless and unreachable, unless it finally ended in floating near the spot given for them, only about hundred meters above the ground. "We are now here, straight above the place which' coordinates were given to us." The alien commented, thoughtfully eyeing terrain below.
So this was what Earth looked like, when actually being close to it and seeing it with one's own eyes, with nothing but the transparent screen separating them from it. It was... Green. Lots of trees, huge ones at that, as no-one had bothered with cutting those down for quite a time. And mountains could be seen...

The Xeian didn't worry about the lesser lifeforms much- including diseases- as she was a lifeform foreign enough to not to fear them. She was simply different enough to not to suit for them to live in, one of the mayor factors being perhaps that her body didn't even contain a drop of water- if not to mention anything else.
It were the larger, and likely more intelligent beings they should be aware of... Other insectoids, as well as the creatures Retzaan had briefly mentioned.
"I think we don't have much to do before we find a place to set ourselves on ground... It is possible to clear away some of the trees, or maybe even slip past those if there is a gap large enough for the ship to fit through... In case there is a place one or more of the larger ones have fallen to the ground then that might be sufficient, given that my ship is not very large in comparison to largest what is represented in the foliage. The best we can hope is not to catch too much attention whatever we decide." Zet'kil explained, still studding carefully the green forest ceiling the hopes of discovering something- preferably something that would help with their task.

A thought can create a world, but only a word written down can ensure its existence.

-When I am physically capable of doing something it doesn't mean I can do it. When I can, it doesn't mean that I should. When I should, it doesn't mean that I must. When I must, it doesn't mean that I will.
-I might not always know where I currently am, but I am never lost. I know in which direction my destination lies.
-There is no faith in knowing. I prefer to know, as only in this way can I be certain in my decisions.
-The more people you ask a question the higher the chance that at least one of them is right.
-Make me walk on walls, don't force me to dance according to others' will.
-I agree that life can be depressing at times. I just choose to ignore it.
-I don't figure over possibilities. I want, I can, I do.

Noooo! It's not dead, it's just on hold until Oracle returns! The same goes for Ultimate Confusion, The Prophecy and Human Divinity! Don't remove them! You could... move them to that temporarily suspended-list? Please? I don't want to see them gone!

That's alright then, I assumed that they were on hold for Oracle. I simply decided to post them as DOA instead of automatically freezing them until she returned.
