“Like Zet'kil? No, nothing like that. Zet'kil is the first alien I've seen... unless insectoids count as aliens, but really, you come from the same planet as humanity originated from, so I have a hard time placing you in that group.”

Theyr stopped herself from giving a sharp answer that was most likely to pick a quarrel. She contended herself with a morose glare and a few nasty mental images. “Why don’t you just group us as what we are?”, she grumbled. “It’s not as if we would humiliate you with these theories, are we?” In fact, most insectoids she knew classified the human race as a good lunch. But still, no-one was calling them aliens…

"To make a long story short, there will be humans and insectoids, and that's about it," Melai shrugged, "Especially Panzeri are popular as hired muscle down there. I hope to find some work and get off Terra Gamma again as quick as possible, though. It's harder to kill a moving target."

Theyr pushed the thoughts circulating about different types of torture appropriate for a human being aside to concentrate on what would come now. Panzeri could be quite a plague, but she had never been bothered by them too much. Most of them appeared to her to be a bulb of muscles that seemed to be searching his brain in other people’s pockets. Most of them had an aversion in assaulting the figures their mothers had used to keep them out of mischief.

She ignored Zet’kils explanations about some unknown race and began to eyeball the weapons Melai had embedded. She didn’t know much about weapons, not more than she knew about human technology in general, but still she was aware of the damage they could do. And the number alone was enough to impress her.
Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.

Zet'kil was back in the upper cargo hold, going through the various things stored there once again. Picking a few and adding those to the already large amount of technology attached to her- making her appearance, which was foreign anyway, even more different from something known to humans.

Turning to leave, she only gave one of the various screens a short look- although the control could give her the same information just as easily, the original screens on he ship somehow seemed to be more convenient for that purpose. Why- she didn't know. It was one of the things that just were so and which was only the question of personal preferences, if anything.

It appeared the others had left a message of a kind, requesting her to open up a link afterwards- when later than later. Nothing that has to be dealt right now.

Thinking that she re-entered the cargo hold, where there only appeared to be Theyr, who was still eyeing the large amounts weaponry displayed. She assumed Melai had went back to the control room to land the ship... Or at least that seemed to the most logical explanation to his disappearance. '

As there were nothing better to to, she joined Theyr and again picked up one of the she-don't-exactly-know-what piece of weaponry to give it another look- some of the things she could easily guess what were, despite their (the most possibly human) origin, but this one was a little harder to determine. Perhaps she could simply ask when no explanation is offered and she herself can't figure out anything sensible.

-There is no faith in knowing. I prefer to know, as only in this way can I be certain in my decisions.

This was not good. If there was anything Lya hated it was people trying to lock her in. It showed a definite lack of trust, and was down right insulting. This captain had a bit to learn about manners. She scanned the room looking for ventilation ducts, and soon found a mode of escape. Tapping her communicator, "Talon, I don't like this. The other fleet out there, and now this 'captain' has tried to lock me in a room. Hit the red button on your communicator. It will help me locate you. I have no intention of staying someplace where they lock up the guests. Unless of course you want to stay. But, Terra Gamma is sounding better to me by the minute. If we hurry we can follow Melai's jump trail."

Shifting to her natural state, she eased into the air duct, speeding toward the energy pulse of Talons communicator. It took a bit longer than she expected, but she did manage to find a vent in the hall outside of his room. She studied the lock panel for a moment. Then growing frustrated she just zapped the thing with a surge of energy. Sparks flew, and the door released with a satisfying clunk. She wedged her morphed hands into the tiny crack, and began shoving the door into its pocket. "Talon? Come on we're getting out of here, now! Make sure that shield I gave you is turned on. What? You've never seen a pissed off alien before?"

With rapid stride she marched back down the corridors toward the landing bay. The guards who were fool enough to get in her way were flung to the side. It was not a good thing to get in the way of an angry Lya D'vahl. She still couldn't believe these strange humans. She comes all this way to do them a favor, and they lock her up. Her form was fluctuating from human to natural with every stride. At least Melai didn't lock her up. He just didn't like her. Why was she still thinking about him? In the middle of breaking out of a ship and she was thinking about Melai? Curse the man, but she would need a contact in Terra Gamma, and at least she knew him. Maybe he could be persuaded to pointing out likely contacts for a percentage. For some strange reason her thoughts were eased a bit knowing where she was heading. All she had to do now was get there.

They were almost to the ship when the alien-bug from the hallway got in her path. If he knew what was good for him he'd stand to the side. She was a rage waiting to happen. Scanning him, she quickly morphed to make an impression. As a female of his species, she approached. "Give us leave to pass, or I will wipe this deck with your carapace! Trust me, you do not want a fight!"

As Lya returned through the air duct Talon let out a relieved sigh. The guards went flying and he watched in grim amusement. He had never loved a girl before but he wished he loved this one. She was quite an interesting individual, despite the fact that he disliked the bugs the only other aliens he had met, he liked this alien. He didn't distrust individual bugs, but the race as a whole, they had always treated him badly, and humans badly. They were at war with them after all, and Talon would put them down if he was given the opportunity. However as one approached Lya and she attempted to allow it a choice.
He found himself needing to resist the urge to fire the raised stunner in his hand. He felt threatened by the creatures presence overall. Somehow he was sure the thing would kill him given half the chance.

He could feel a headache coming on, he could feel the blinding pain in his temples. He could see the colors wrapping around the bugs the guards, every animated object except for Lya. For some reason he knew that it was because she was not a threat to his mind. Instead a shimmering haze hovered over her, he didn't understand the signs of that. He understood that these were the warning signs of the seizures he had feared. Suddenly he knew that in moments he wouldn't be able to control his body. Taking a step forward he was surprised to feel himself dropping to a forward roll. He came up before Lya the stunner held out before him, he was in a crouched position his weapon fired a shot past the bug to a guard behind it. The man walked to the ground stunned. With a last desperate attempt to control his mouth he got out a string of words.
" Not me, body not me."

Mostly incoherent he feared that he would be left behind. He would die, no matter what the seizure did in his stead. His body could not survive bullets, he could not survive knives. He would die eventually wallowing in a pool of his own blood.

Shadow-claw, seeing that he was ignored from the newcomers, and had walked past him, decided to leave the hangar, and return to the hangar. He examined the ship that was in this hangar. The ship was larger than his own, and looked more modern than his primitive scout class ship. He looked a little bit closer, examining the parts that was on there. Once he had finished inspecting the ship, he reached around for something that was near his container. He pulled out a small tracking device that he had handcrafted himself, and placed it near the joint of the landing prop. Anywhere else, and the newcomers might have found this little thing. Although he suspects that they might find the device, he slyly pressed the button that was on it. Not only did the device started to activate, but it had also cloaked itself. He knew that the cloaking mechanism on the tracker would only last for a couple of days, but it would be enough for it to stay concealed until he found the ship again. Pleased with it, he walked out of the hangar, and went for the hangar doors where the Cosmic Hunter was docked.

Before he had punched the code in for the hangar, he had heard the noise of guards getting thrown aside behind him. He turned around, and went to inspect what the problem was. The had thought that it was a scuffle between the guards, and approached the corner. Instead of finding a scuffle, he saw the guards lying unconscious on the floor, and a figure approached him. It was another Silencer, except that there was something that didn't seem quite right about it. He noticed that there was something hazy at the feet, before turning into true insectoid feet. "Give us leave to pass, or I will wipe this deck with your carapace! Trust me, you do not want a fight!" it had asked him.

A rage started to build up inside him. No one mimics a Silencer, and gets away with it! He had thought, the red eyes glowing brighter. "If you think that I am going to move before you, then you are sadly mistaken, Shape-shifter. You would die before you step past me. Captain Emerson would not like a being like you to roam free on this ship." Before he had finished his last sentence, he had activated the micro-organisms again, and disappeared from view. "Good luck getting past your ship, for it is your carcass that's going to be scattered across this deck." He swiftly dodged to the side, and charged towards her, claws outstretched.

At that point Talon had no control over his own body. His mind strained frantically against it's casing, and he watched as a spectator. He could no longer see the bug that he felt so threatened by, the bastard thing had disappeared into thin air. However it didn't seem to matter to his body, it was moving twisting upward and around, the small but powerful stunner in it's hands seemingly pointing at Lya. In that moment he was sure he was about to attack the person who was currently his only ally. His hands caused the weapon to fire repeatedly, each one soaring in the air towards Lya. They would never make it that far, his body had aimed with perfect precision towards the cloaked bug, somehow his body did not need to see them to attack them. Talon couldn't see it, or even be aware of it, but the blasts were placed so that even if they missed they would not strike down Lya, who still shimmered to his vision.

As his body let the blasts flow he fought it for control, he didn't know what was happening. He was still certain that his uncontrolled body was attacking his ally. As he fought it, the body drew forth the dagger from his hip, readying it in hands that Talon could no longer feel. With the knife clenched in one hand and the stunner in the other he could see himself approaching his ally.

Lya let out a sigh, they never learn. She had no intention of killing anyone. He couldn't harm Talon with the shield up, and she was impervious to physical attacks involving mass and motion. She simply loosed her cohesion to let him sail harmlessly through her. As he did so two things happened. Talon fired his stunner, and she read the bugs DNA sequence. To know ones enemy was bliss, his language and instincts were part of her now.

She turned back to her natural form, and hovered over Talon as he approached. She let her thoughts ease into his, We do not need to kill today. He is no danger to us. Your are in no danger with me. Be at peace friend. We need to get to the ship. I cannot explain, but I need to find Melai. We should not have left. I.....need Melai.

The Silencer cursed as he fell through the bug, and crashed into the ground. He looked up to see the bug morph into a humanoid figure. A hologram! And I bet that this is one of the advanced ones, where they can scan anyone that goes through them. He cursed silently, realizing the flaw that he had given. However, to Shadow-claw's surprise, the hologram was distracted with the other human, who was obviously agitated with insectoids, leaving her back to the door. Seeing his opportunity, he darted for the key coder, and swung his arm at it. The console disintergrated with the massive force that he had. Darting back to one of the sides, away from the console, he looked at the two figures.

"You better watch what you say, hologram." He spat those words, temper rising with every passing second. "I may have given away some of my tactics and personality, but you are not leaving this ship." He stalked around her, examining her while he thought of the next move.

As Talon stood waiting for a reaction Lya his companion faded away into nothing. His mind wanted desperately to follow the fleeing stream of alien dust. HIs body however did no such thing, instead remaining in a crouched position weapon at the ready. Suddenly he could feel a voice in his mind. HIs first hopes were that Lya could find a way to tame the strange part of his mind that was triggering the seizures that controlled him. It didn't dawn on him that it could actually make things worse until he felt the pain roaring through his mind momentarily.
The seizure seemed to have grown worse, a new color overlaid the rest, the dark ugly orange coating his vision with a strange light. An approaching guard was caught in his line of sight. The ring of light surrounded the man and then suddenly Talon felt a jolt through his body. HIs vision grew brighter and the man suddenly burst into light, particles of light. Unlike Lya however, he would never reform, he was gone forever.

As the strange power worked on the man the lights left his vision. As weak as he felt he could feel again, he had control of his body back. He broke into a run heading back the way they had came, moving towards safety, moving towards the ship. Despite the fact that she had been joined with his mind she no longer was. Somehow she had been separated from his mind temporarily.

She needed to create time for her companion to get to the ship, and this bug was most amusing. If she wasn't in such a hurry, she might actually enjoy playing with him. If there was a choice between pleasure and anger, she would go for the pleasure. Perhaps he could be reasoned with.

"You think I am a hologram? I assure you I am real." She moved closer while reshaping into the female of his species. Pulling forth the DNA instinct codes, she smiled inwardly, and began the movements of a mating ritual. A soft chittering noise escaped her lips, and her claws began clicking in an age old rhythm. Her carapace along the front began to glow a soft orange. "I have no desire to kill you. My friend and I simply wish to leave. Either way, you will fail in your attack. You cannot harm me." The soft chittering increased as she drew nearer. "Now, do you wish to fight a battle you cannot win? One touch will convince you otherwise."
