It took almost as much time to reinstall the Jump Drive as it had to remove it. But this time she knew what she was doing, and the concentration actually helped her to regain her composure. Perplexed about what had happened, she couldn't quite pinpoint what set her off. She couldn't figure out how she had gotten so out of control. Maybe the emotions would fade, if she got far away from him. What if they didn't? She buried the thought. It had to get better. With the drive reinstalled, she rested her head against it's shiny surface. Moaning slightly, she knew she was going to have to see him at least once more.

Talon's voice broke through her cloud of gloom, " There is still the matter of our business to be seen to. A price must be decided, and you must discover the price of my credits or be at a serious disadvantage. When we have finished with that which has already be decided. There is some additional business I would like to look into before you sail off in frustration."

She nodded to him, "I think I'm feeling better. The meld did something to me, it just got me angry. No, that isn't what it was, I know what anger is. This was different. But since I don't know what emotions feel like, I don't know what it was. What makes human eyes leak? I need to know." She turned and looked at him earnestly. She needed help, and spinning thoughts around in her own head was getting her nowhere. "I apologize if I disturbed you. It is not my normal behavior. We can take care of the credits as soon as Melai is satisfied. All deals must meet the satisfaction of the customer." She took a moment more, wondering what other business he might have with her, then headed back to the hold. "You may as well come, I have to take care of the generators, Zet'kil's too."

She needed to see Melai's schematics to install the shield generator. It would have to be adapted to his ships power supply, and only she could do that. First thing was to retrieve the gravity-lift.
With quiet resolve she made her way back to the cargo bay, determined to apologize. All sales must be amicable, she couldn't just run off. None of her race would ever know if she did, but her pleasure would never be the same again. Hopefully he would still be cleaning out the holds. Bit by bit, this was turming into the worst day of her life.

Once Talon had gone to talk to Lya, Melai figured that he could continue with the quite boring assignment which was to clean up the cargo hold. However, with the powerful surprisingly functional Walk-bot, he soon had thrown out the few remaining pieces of metal, leaving the cargo hold empty except the three crates that were placed all the way up in the front part of the hold, and, of course, the Walk-bot itself, which had always had its place here. Finished with his work, Melai stepped over to the hatch and beheld the large room, slowly nodding to himself in acknowledgement that he thought the hold could fit both the Xeian spaceship and the Lady Be Good, if they just put the ships close to the walls.

As he once again found himself wondering what to do next to prepare their coming departure from Gendon Delta 7, his mind once again strayed to why Lya had reacted the way she had just before. And, when he thought it over, she had acted rather strange just after she had scanned his brain, too. Faintly Melai wondered if she had accidentially copied some of the frontal part of his cerebral structure and maybe taken after some of his own personality... but that did not make sense either, since Melai never cried. And if she had copied anything from Melai's personality... He grinned to himself, amused by the idea of humans (since he could not imagine what the population of a Telkran planet would look like) ran around in terror.

He sighed. It was probably time to start mounting the remaining parts, if Harper had not done it already. Soon, this planet would barely be a dot in the far reaches of space behind him.

Zet'kil watched the full scene with obvious confusion, looking rather nervous, as she repeatedly slid one of her hands over her face and finally stated to bend he fingers on the upper pair of hands while the other pair was simply hanging against her sides.

It was clear that there was something very wrong with the Telkran, but she couldn't decide what exactly. She seemed angry... Or sad... Or both... She was not very good at recognizing human feelings and Telkrans themselves didn't usually have many.
As for she herself, she didn't have a face that could show emotions, but the mood cold be seen from the full body and its movements.

So she stood there until the other alien finished with the jump drive, without really understanding what was going on with everyone. But she got the impression that Lya wanted to be off this place as soon as she could. And as she mentioned her, she might as well to be present and take as many things on her as she could- since that was the only thing she could.

But as for the female alien made her way back already she had to wait with it a little bit. She had a feeling that she'd only be more out of place when she interrupted either of them.
A thought can create a world, but only a word written down can ensure its existence.

-There is no faith in knowing. I prefer to know, as only in this way can I be certain in my decisions.

((Jack, I am assuming Melai was still in the cargo hold, if not let me know))

Lya just about had everything she wanted to say to Melai figured out, she even had a smile back on her face. However, every word of it, flew clean out of her mind as she turned the corner into the cargo hold. She came within a hairs breadth of plowing smack into Melai, and with the proximity, the pleasure again surged through her hands and disrupted her mind. This was made even more uncomfortable, by Talon and Zet'kil dogging her heels. She stepped back a pace, striving to keep the swirling agitation beneath her outer layer from showing. "Melai...I..."

What was it she was going to say? She closed her eyes for a moment, it somehow helped to not be looking at him. As soon as she opened them, though, the problem reasserted itself. What was it about him that had her particles spinning? Lya decided to ignore it, with a humble tone to her words she tried again, "Melai, I'm sorry. You didn't deserve that outburst earlier. Whatever went wrong with the merging is my problem. In fact I'm even sorry for taking your cursed Jump Drive... I just came for the Shield generator," she pointed to the gravlift. The pleasure ran up her arm like lightening, as she gestured past him. Lya hurriedly pulled her arm back as if it had caught fire. She was surprised he didn't appear to be feeling any of it, with any luck he would attribute her actions as just some strange alien thing.

The truth was, he was rather appealing, except for that streak of meaness he had launched at her. An unusual warmth began creeping up her neck and onto her cheeks. Eyes wide she placed her palms against them, but they felt the same. What was that? She felt the need to escape again, but shoved it down and headed for the lift. There was a slight quaver in her voice, "I also need to see the ships schematics to determine the best location for it, and to adjust the power adaptors to your vessel. Once that is done to your satisfaction, you can return to the joyous life you knew, before Lya D'vahl stepped onto the Rey de los Muerte."

(Well, he semi-was... He was standing in the opening hatch to the cargo hold, so he kinda had one foot inside and one outside. Either way, your post works.)

Stepping backwards with a startled yelp, Melai raised his arms to brace himself, since his first thought was that the sudden appearance would be that of Imperial troopers that had finally discovered him and had come to either beat the crap out of him and take him to be executed, or just gun him down on the spot. Of course, it only took a second before he recognized Lya, and when he did, he stepped even further backwards and even prepared to run, remembering her unstable state from before, which clearly retained its hold on her mind. However, as she spoke, she seemed reasonable and sane enough, although there still was something entirely wrong with the way she moved and talked, as if she was afraid of him or was greatly unnerved... and what in blazes, was she blushing? First she attacked him, and now she was acting like a shy, little girl?

"Joyous life? Clearly this is your first visit to the Milky Way, or at least first time you've met outlaws here," Melai chuckled at her words, striding towards the three crates that stood along the wall, "The most joyous thing I experience is when I actually manage to relax - and in between being hunted by most of the population of this galaxy, that happens quite rarely."
As he reached the crates, Melai more as a relfex than an intended action gestured with his hand, a simple thought moving the heavy object aside, revealing a lone monitor hanging on the wall with a keyboard strapped to it. Turning it on, Melai started pressing the keys to find the information he was looking for in the ship-database.
"I never even wanted to be a pirate, you know," he tried making small-talk to make the wait seem more bearable, especially for Lya, who seemed to be tormented by his very presence, "I wanted to be a lawyer. Heh, imagine that... me, a lawyer. When I was a kid, I was quite a clever guy, though - even had the Empire finance the education. I was only a year from starting to study for being a lawyer when I started movin' stuff with my mind the first time. When the Empire heard of that, they cancelled their offer to get the education and presented me with an officer-rank in the Imperial fleet instead. I didn't want that, though - I was pissed at them. You don't just say no to the Empire, though... oh, they sure got mad." The screen flashed green for a moment before numbers started running up and down on it while it loaded the selected files, "So I really had no choice. It was either grab a ship and run for it, join the Imperial fleet or get killed by the Imperials. I choose the lesser evil."

Finally, he stepped aside, allowing the others to look at the monitor, where a 3D-schematic image of the Rey de los Muerte had appeared, as well as all the vital information about the ship was listed beneath it. "There, this would be the info you needed. Sorry to have you wait 'n' stuff... my computers are kinda old, but I like them like this."

"I FAIFD, haffd me thaff, ffo sfoopid fuffin' cat!"

Harper was currently upside-down somewhere in the gut of the ship, hanging from a support beam by her knees, pawing wildly at where Iarbas was sitting cozily a few feet away. It seemed to take the 'droid a moment to understand her accent compounded with the fact she was holding a wrench in her mouth, but it did eventually hand her the part she was groping for. With a pleased grunt, she swung herself back up to continue working on the tangle of mechanics.

Fortunately, Harper was comfortable with much of the machinery, having often repaired the Lady Be Good (and given the age of her own ship, often was very true). If anything she seemed to work more quickly and more diligently after finishing up the cup of moonshine she had gotten from her ship's still. She had gladly let Lya reinstall the jump-drive, sliding the alien a few confused looks but sticking largely to herself. While they had been stomping around arguing, she had made a multitude of tiny little repairs, setting things back in place and replacing what had gotten jarred and jumbled in the crash landing. Amazingly, when the 'droid displayed its list of what was still to be done, only a few items remained instead of the massive scroll from before.

With a great sigh, she wiggled out from her spot, flopping onto the floor and standing up to dust herself off, a little unsteady. She had accumulated a nice set of grease-stains in her clumsiness, but it didn't keep her from ruffling her hair a little as she stretched. "Well, think tha's 'bout it," she drawled lightly. "Gotta ask some questions 'bout th' little tweak to th' water reclamation there, but we c'n get flyin' without these things done." She scratched at her head again before ambling out into the cabin, still snorting and shaking the dust off. She greeted everyone with a bright smile, but this quickly became a puzzled frown as she eyed Lya and Melai.

Melai was exhibiting all the classic signs of fear when Lya entered the room, but he seemed to be calming down. In fact seeing his reactions made her recognize part of her own. She was afraid of him. She didn't understand how that could be. She was certainly stronger. Unless he had a bucket of saltwater handy, he couldn't hurt her. But then how had he hurt her earlier? He hadn't even touched her, and she responded in fear to some inner pain. None of this made any sense.

Amazing, he had relaxed his stance. Perhaps it was the thought of her soon to come departure? He even chuckled, and started talking about his life. Completely surprised, she blurted out, "You don't do this for the fun? The pleasure of the chase, the profit, the honor among your peers?" A quizzical look crossed her face and her brows furrowed. "This is all so strange. Pleasure is the purpose of all things." She was going to need someone to start explaining everything to her very soon. For now she continued trying to ignore it all. He was behaving quite pleasantly, and it was going a long way to soothe her electromagnetic field. The pleasure was still surging through her hands and disrupting her thoughts, but the frenzy was almost gone.

"So I really had no choice. It was either grab a ship and run for it, join the Imperial fleet or get killed by the Imperials. I choose the lesser evil."

Lya hadn't known the reason he was being hunted was his Telekinetic ability. If that was the case, she had grievously misjudged him. It was one thing to be hunted for piracy, or because you made an error in judgement and got caught, but this...she was appalled. If that wasn't bad enough, she had unwittingly conspired against him as well. She had to make this right, or it would further stain her eternal pleasure. Could this day possibly get any worse?

Melai had finished bringing up the schematic, and stepped back, apologizing about his computer. But everything was over-ridden by her mistake. The screen was nonexistent for the moment. Without a thought about the pleasure surging through her hand, Lya touched his arm to gain his attention. "Melai, I must again apologize. I have made a grave error. I did not realise they chased you because of your talent. Such abilities are prized on Telkran, given a place of honor and respect. I have shamed myself, by taking your Jump Drive and I must make amends. There is no charge for the shields. If I can't undo anything else, I can at least make sure they cant harm your ship."

Quickly she turned away to look at the computer. Were her eyes starting to leak again? She wished she understood why they did that. She glanced at Talon, he should be pleased, all he owed now was the money for his own items, which were minimal compared to the shields. The she scanned the 3D schematic, and knew what needed to be done. Without turning back to face Melai, she brushed off the annoying moisture. "I'll be done as quickly as possible Melai, and you'll be on your way home." She reached for the gravlift, nodded to the woman who had just entered, then headed toward the main control room.

"Bah. who cares?" Melai shrugged, "I get pissed and I forgive, and that's it. I'm not one to hold grudges unless the people I am holding them against continiously tries to kill me." He was starting to get the picture of why humanity and the Telkrans were so much different, besides of the Telkrans ability to change shape and such, that is. She thought that there was no reason to do anything but mere pleasure? Either her home was a true Eden, or the Telkrans could think that because of the whole being-made-of-loose-particles-thing. Lya clearly had never needed to do something just to ensure her own survival.

"Ah, Harper!" Melai exclaimed when he noticed the woman, covered in grease and otherwise soiled from obviously repairing his ship, and he faintly wondered what she could actually been doing, getting that dirty. "How goes the repairs? Are we ready for you and Zet'kil to park your ships in here so we can get on our way?"

As she left the cargo hold she called back, "Talon, are you coming? This should only take a few minutes? We can conclude our business, and I can get out of here." In less time than it took to install the drive, she had the shields up and running. Satisfied they were in standard working order, she shook the dust from her dress and headed to Zet'kil's ship. Since she had been instructed to leave the generator, that's exactly what she did.

She hoped whatever Talon wanted, it wouldn't keep her on this rock very much longer. As soon as she set foot on her ship, she let her human form dissolve into the bliss that she naturally was. All the stress and the pleasure melted away, and she simply was. Melai had her tied in knots. The sooner she left, the better. Maybe things would go better with Captain Emmerson. He at least seemed to be pleased with her presence. After a few minutes of rest she shifted back to human form and looked around for Talon.

"How goes the repairs? Are we ready for you and Zet'kil to park your ships in here so we can get on our way?"

"All finished w' everythin' I know how to do. Iarbas'll give ya the list... there's a coupl'a more things that I c'n pro'lly get when we're travellin', tune-up the water reclamation, things like tha'. But she's ready fer takeoff." She swaggered a bit as if demonstrating she was comfortable with the talk, and although she was handy with such things, she was far from a master engineer and it was surely mostly the 'droid's guidance that made the repairs possible. "G'on, Iarbas, show th' man." Dutifully, the catlike 'droid trotted over to sit in front of Melai, the holoscreen between its ears flickering to life to show the scroll of duties that had been finished. Each one lighted up in green with a check-mark to the side and a small chime as they scrolled past, showing they had been completed.

"So, ah..." Harper peered at Lya as she went, moving closer to Melai to stage-whisper. "What's the matter with her? Was she cryin' or somethin' or jes' crazy?" She poked at the side of her head, making a little circle at her temple as if to indicate insanity, nodding in Lya's direction as she left.
