Vadril kept her eyes forward as they walked, at a rather brisk pace, to the hangar. On the outside she seemed simply bent on the task at hand, professional and unflappable. On the inside she was casting her mind out. She had felt that brief flicker in Twila. Suggestions of a darker persona. She had felt fear and uncertainty in Rina's aura, and now she was keeping her own from showing any sign she had detected the obvious tension between master and apprentice.

"When we land we must hourney to the city and first locate an appropriate meeting point." She responded stiffly, jaw set in a hard line of control. Mistreating an apprentice was an abhorrent thing that not many jedi were even aware was happening within the walls of the academy. Vadril had seen some truly violent confrontations in her time, but nothing was as bad as watching a padawan and their master clash. Whether wills or lightsabers. For agents of peace and equality, there was a good deal of violence within the ranks.

In a way it was like the Frey'ai hierarchy. Strict rules, and those strict rules more often brought conflict from those who did not understand the true meaning of them. That these signs were beginning to show through in Twila, a master of such experience, was troubling at the least. Unconsciously, Vadril slowed her steps, bringing her side by side with Rina. She wondered how many times the dark haired girl had walked behind her own master in step of beside her.

When they reached the hangar Vadril motioned for the other two to go in ahead of her, casting Twila a hard look as she passed. An analysing look. Whether the twi'lek picked it up she could not tell, but she saw there something that needed to be watched...

"nothing is ever easy for us." She muttered to herself.

As she made her way down the hall, Rina wrapped her arms around herself. She felt like she was shaking but was unable to tell if she really was or not. Not that it mattered. Time wouldn't stop for her to completely calm down, it never did. The only thing she could do was keep moving foreward and not allow herself to break down right now. She could do that later when she was alone.

Having not been prepared to hear anyone speak, she flinched when Vadril did. She gave a small nod, indicating that she understood. "The nearest city should be on the southern border of the forest." She said, her voice softer than it had been.

After her comment, Rina withdrew further inside herself. It was the only real way she could currently think of to escape from Twila's presence. Too bad she couldn't just run off when they land. She was hardly even aware of when Vadril slowed her steps and began walking beside her. If she had been, she probably would've ended up slowing her pace till she was behind Twila. The only reason she was even in front of the twi'lek was because she had left the room first. Under normal circumstances, she would usually be forced to walk behind her master.

Upon reaching the hanger, Rina lowered her arms and looked around. She took only a moment to take in the current surroundings before making her way to one of the shuttles.

As Twila passed Vadril, she shot the older jedi an icy glare. It was the kind of look that said she was daring her to try and interfere with her padawan.

That ice-heavy stare was too much too fast. As Twila passed Vadril gripped her wrist in a vice-hard lock. Dark eyes drilling into the other master, a title Vadril no longer believed the twi'lek deserved. "In the confines of the temple your tutorship is not my business." She hissed, her expression carefully neutral and voice low to avoid unwanted attention. "But here on this mission you are a representative of the fairness and equality of the jedi ranks."

The starting of engines burst into her hearing, but she only held tighter. "So help me if you put us in that type of situation again I will ensure you lose your post before we can even reach home. Never let me see that kind of treatment again, least of all to your own student." Letting loose the other woman's wrist Vadril subsided into the calm jedi of control that had first appeared to the other knights. "Remember your own lessons. Anger is as much a dark trait as arrogance and recklessness. Do not let it be your undoing. Masters greater than you have fallen, but at least they had the decency to fall for something bigger than the independance of a padawan.

Glacial coldness washed between the two, and then Vadril was gone, off towards the shuttle, leaving Twila to stare at where she had been. Vadril had no doubt the master was seething. With any luck, she would hold a grudge against the knight that outshone her hate for her pupil. Perhaps it was stupid to think so, but Vadril still felt that she should at least try to help Rina shoulder some of the trouble.

"Shall we get going then?" She asked the young jedi cheerfully.

Twila was more than ready to pounce on Vadril when her wrist was grabbed. She was so angry that she couldn't even speak. First her padawan, now another master. By the time she was released, she was mentally cursing the two. Silently, she made her way to the last shuttle, saying nothing as she got in and started it up.

Having sensed the tension from the two older jedi, Rina looked over. She could only imagine just how angery Twila was now. She knew, first hand just how long the twi'lek could hold a grudge. It also wasn't unusual for the master to use her as an outlet for any pent up rage. Most time she was forced into heavy training, the kind that exhausted her to the point she nearly collapsed. If this continued as it did, there was no telling what she would be subjected to at the first chance.

She had turned away and was just getting into the shuttle when Vadril went to her own and spoke to her. Smiling lightly, she gave a small nod, indicating that they should be going.

Once the three jedi were in the shuttles and had informed the crew they were ready to go, the shuttles were released into space. Within moments, she had opened fire onto the raiders' ship and had sped off to the little planet. She relied mostly on the force, but used the instruments as well to avoid the shots fired upon her. As she did so, she kept an eye on the other two shuttles.

At one point, a shot skimmed her shuttle, nearly making a direct hit. Biting her lower lip, she made a rough landing in the Burrilian Forest and scrambled out of the shuttle.

Moving quickly, Vadril leapt from the seat of her shuttle and hared after Rina and Twila, who were already moving into the forest. Overhead she could hear the raiders coming in to land, and she counted herself lucky they weren't spectacular marksmen. Once or twice a few lucky shots had made her swerve crazily out of the way to avoid being shredded. The blinding light of the bolts as they passed had seared her eyes anew each time.

Now the rustle of the green growth underfoot was a giveaway to not only their position, but the enemies setting down in force on the forest's edge. Blasters in-hand they pursued the three fleeing attackers, unaware of what they were. Hopefully, Vadril mused, that would provide an advantage. Even if it didn't, who ever heard of blasters killing a jedi in top form? Almost automatically her hand strayed to the hilt of her lightsaber, as if to check it was still there. The cool surface felt reassuring, and she felt the Force flowing even stronger down here on the planet's surface. In space it was a little more difficult, but on a world teeming with life it was as strong as her own heartbeat.

"I think they're gaining." She breathed to her companions, able now to hear the angered shouts rising in volume behind them. She was finding it easy to keep pace with the other two, though she deliberately stayed close to Twila. She would watch that woman carefully. "Rina, how long until those bugs you mentioned catch wind of us and arrive?"

The soft ground beneath Rina's feet was virtually nonexistent to her. Despite having spent so long having to walk on concrete surfaces, the feel of soft earth and grass was always a welcome one just as the trees were. She practically flew between the trees, dodging and weaving in order to avoid blaster bolts. The feel of the force was so strong here, it was light a dimly lit room suddenly being flooded with bright, blinding light. The Kerovian girl couldn't help but wonder if maybe it had something to do with the high concentration of force energy. Maybe she was just imagining it because of the current situation.

Sensing Twila and Vadril behind her, she began looking around. She was already seeking out a hive to shake up before Vadril had even said something. As she finally found one, she realized that using the raiders likely didn't know just what it was they were up against. Perhaps it could be used to their advantage. If nothing else, the only one placed at further risk would be herself.

"I've already spotted a hive. I just got to get them aggitated." She answered, her eyes locked on the targeted hive. Now doubt, Twila would give her a serious repimanding for being so reckless, but was there any other choice? Being younger, she tended to be quicker with the force. Pursing her lips together, she seperated from the two older jedi and ducked behind the tree that the hive was in. "Be ready for them."

The bolt that had been aimed at her missed the hive, but hit the branch it was hanging on. The blow to the tree limb was enough to shake up the hive and force the large insects from the hive. Rina already had a force barrier around herself, using it to steer the insects away from herself. That didn't seem to matter, though, as the insects were already targeting the ones who had fired upon their home to begin with. While the small swarm had surrounded the raiders, she leaped away from the tree and rejoined the two elder jedi. "The edge of the forest should be close."

"What the hell were you thinking you reck-" Twila's tirade was stopped before it started when a blaster bolt struck her in the back. The jedi master had lost focus on what she was doing and had been unaware when the raiders began firing on the insects, a stray bolt had gotten past the bugs and struck the twi'lek down.

Confused at the sudden cease of the verbal assault, Rina had slowed down and looked back. She saw her master on the ground and stood there, eyes wide and frozen in shock.

Vadril stood still for a second, staring down at the deceased jedi before her. Momentary sorrow filled her, though it did not have a chance to evolve any further. Another blaster bolt hurtled past the insects and towards the two survivors. With nary a second thought Vadril's saber ignited with the telltale snap-hiss, sweeping down and batting the shot away as though it were nothing. The lightsword glowed almost purely white, only the faintest hints of a silvery-blue colour at the utmost edge. In the master's hand it thrummed powerfully, and a sort of sick realisation dawned on their assailants. The threat passed for the time being Vadril sheathed her blade, leaving the insects to deal with the raiders and hoping the transport had gotten away safely.

"Rina. We must go now." She prompted, taking the girl by the shoulders and steering her away. There would be time for shock later, for now they had work to do. They had no time to properly take care of Twila's body. Best let the forest tend it in its own peculiar way. The men's shouts had dissolved into frenzied screams and colourful expletives, mingling with the chittering of insects.

Yet at the moment they were to leave Vadril stopped. For a brief moment she seemed to weigh something on her mind, considered options. Then purposefully she strode to Twila's corpse and removed the fallen twi'lek's lightsaber from her belt. It would not do to leave it to some wanderer or forest creature, and perhaps some other jedi could make use of it. At the very least it could go into the archives.

"Right. Let's go."

A sick feeling washed over Rina as she starred at her fallen master. The woman may have been rough with her, but Twila had still been her master. When Vadril spoke and began steering her away, she snapped out of her daze and shook her head to try and clear it. She watched as Vadril went over and removed the lightsaber from Twila's body. Wrapping her arms around herself, she closed her eyes and shut out the sounds of the insects and raiders as Vadril guided her to the edge of the forest.

No sooner had they stepped out of the woods, the two jedi were greeted by a man wearing a peculiar silver outfit. The main part of the suit was a type of flexible, cybernetic armor while his head was protected by a helmet, a black, tinted visor hiding his eyes and face. Sensing his presence, Rina opened her eyes and looked at him.

"You two alright?" He asked, slowly approaching. He had his hands held out to his sides, showing he had no intention to harm them. However, the weapon holstered at his right hip didn't say the same thing.

Not sensing any real threat from him, she gave a small nod. She still had her guard up, ready to defend herself and Vadril if he happened to change his mind and attack, though.

"That's a relief." He said, coming to a stop. He stood about seven feet away from them. "I thought there were three of you coming? Did something happen?"
