Harlan was taken back by what Damien had said. Is it possible… to finally defeat Dr Harkess? he thought. It sounded too true for him to believe his boss’s words. Ai couldn’t believe the news herself. Harlan could see the surprise that was in her face. How would Damien get them to try and kill the CEO of Globodex himself was something that he would want to figure out himself. In fact, he wanted to know what was the objective of the Gore Angels. For a very long time, they hasn’t been any progress with the downfall of the company. Harlan started to think and was confused. What would they achieve from killing Harkess? Soon, some of the answers to his questions were answered. Damien smiled and sat back down in his chair. Reaching into the draw of his desk, he picked out two booklets. “I had anticipated that our friend Harkess was going to make a deal with the Taiwanese about the merge of another company. So…” He got out of his chair and walked towards them, giving them one of these booklets each. “I have given you two tickets to Taiwan, where you can leave his body in the place that would soon to be his last place of making this deal. For 5 years, I wanted to end the massive grasp of this company. And now… it’s about to come true. You two are the best hitmen that can take on this task.” Harlan stood there, the plane ticket shaking in his hand. Is this a dream come true? |

"I had anticipated that our friend Harkess was going to make a deal with the Taiwanese about the merge of another company. You two are the best hitmen that can take on this task.” Ai took the plane ticket, not believing what she's just heard. This can't be... right. For some reason, she was wondering why the Gore Angels were made. Were they made just to take down Globodex? But Globodex did the world a favor, by giving the economy a boast that they needed... "How much are we getting for his elimination?" Ai asked. Hitmen always asked for the money that they received from each kill, otherwise, it's pointless and we'd just be called murderers instead of... hitmen. For a moment, she wondered what on earth she was doing before she flickered back to reality as she looked at the plane ticket. Home... |

"How much are we getting for his elimination?" Damien stayed quiet for a few seconds. "There is, of course, that catch. The offer for one of our contractors has risen to over 5 million dollars. If this mission is successful, I will take only 1 million of that total for further training of future recruits to the Gore Angels. The other 4 million would be shared between the both of you. I'll let you talk about the amount that each of you will have." Just as he sat back down, Harlan's jaw dropped. 4 million dollars for us to share? That is a heck load of money being paid to kill one man. Harlan thought harder, unsure on what the consequences behind the deal. Finally, he spoke up. "What are the consequences of the deal, should a problem rise during the mission?" Damien raised an eyebrow, noticing that the veteran hitman had noticed something was wrong with the large sum of money. "I'm glad that you have noticed that, Harlan. That skill of seeing between the lines has given you an edge over most of the agents in GA. This skill may surpass those Ai has. Don't worry. Both of you are the best couple to do the job. However…" he paused, having that look in his eye. "… if indeed something goes wrong in Taiwan, then your return tickets back to America will be removed from the flight database. Along with that, every single profile that you have used during those 5 years together will be removed from the database. No offense, but I don't want Gore Angels to be discovered by Globodex. Do we agree on the terms?" |

F-FOUR MILLION?! Ai gasped, her eyes growing wide at the aspect. But, that kind of money never usually comes around like this ever. And... she doubted that this was going to be an easy job if that kind of money was... worth it. However, before she could speak up about the doubtful idea of the four million dollars, Harlan already spoke up about it. "What are the consequences of the deal, should a problem rise during the mission?" Ai then turned her attention back on Damien as he spoke up again. Do we agree on the terms?" Ai almost narrowed her eyes if it weren't for the fact that she noticed his fingers flicking over his gun that she could just barely see hanging on his belt under his coat. She didn't like this, not at all. There was a lot riding on this, it seems and it felt like... something was going to go horribly wrong. It was a gut feeling, and she trusted that, just like before. Something about the way Damien had said that made it feel like that... like Harlan and herself was GOING to fail. But, both him and her never failed a single job... Not yet anyway. And the fact that they were going to be erased from the database made it feel like... he was erasing everything they've done. Plus... it also felt like they were going to be... hunted down... "I'll do whatever Harlan agrees on," she said, not trusting her own doubtful self. She feels if she spoke her answer, she might not answer the way she would want it to be. |

Harlan stayed quiet when Damien realized what the bad end of the mission was. So that's what Damien's hiding? he thought, examining the man that was in front of him. I do not like this. Not one bit. It was as if he was… expecting us to fail. Promising himself that he and Ai were going to succeed the mission, he thought about the job at hand. If we take the job and fail, then we will not be able to see everyone again. Raising both of his hands to his head, he sighed and wondered if this was a risk to take. "It seems…" he finally said, having some idea on what to do. "That this indeed is the biggest risk that has faced the Gore Angels." "I'll do whatever Harlan agrees on," was the only thing that Ai had said after the news of being erased from existence. As both of the people inside the room turned to look at the undecided hitman, Harlan turned on his heels and paced about inside the room. It was a massive decision that he was given. He either went for the chance of getting the man that was eluding them for a long time and fail, or he would decline their only window of taking down the CEO and probably put shame on both him and Ai. Groaning with the pressure, he finally turned towards Damien. He closed his eyes, finalizing his decision and opinion on this topic. A few minute later, and a few big breaths, he opened his eyes and looked at his boss. "We'll do it. There's a massive amount of pressure on us to make sure that we do not fail." As soon as Damien dismissed them out of his office, Harlan turned towards Ai. "I do not like the sounds of this. What do you think?" |

Ai only relaxed, feeling relieved that she didn't decide. But she felt bad for letting Harlan decide for her. But she liked his clear-headed decisions more than she did herself. He was often the one who decided at the last minute when something happens so that made her come to rely on him as something... something she couldn't quite figure out or remember the word for it. "I do not like the sounds of this. What do you think?" "Wait until we're out of the building," she murmured, trying to keep herself calm still while holding her plane ticket. Her hands shook while she tried to keep her focus on the path before until she entered the area where she had parked her car. When she was inside, she rested her head against the wheel and grasped the ticket almost to the point that she was going to tear the ticket. Her nerves wouldn't calm down... as if she was going to break down at the idea of her confused thoughts and... She thought she was going to go hysterical, her gut was telling her that something was wrong, although what was going to happen she didn't know. Her doubts, everything was ready to explode, like a growing bubble that seems to not know when it was going to pop. |

"Wait until we're out of the building." Harlan knew that Ai certainly did not like the final decision that he had made. Soon, both of them were in the car, with him resting his on the headrest. It was certainly something that he did not want to do. Not only were his feelings a bit jittery, but it had a massive effect on her. He watched as Ai rested her head on the steering wheel, with the ticket on the verge on being torn. Before she would do something that would make her regret it, Harlan placed his left hand on her back. "I know what you are feeling, Ai," he whispered, his tone trying to be as soothing as possible. "I have a bad feeling that something is going to happen." Without thinking, he placed his entire left arm across her slender body. |

"I know what you are feeling, Ai," he whispered, his tone trying to be as soothing as possible. "I have a bad feeling that something is going to happen." Without thinking, he placed his entire left arm across her slender body. "I know, I have that feeling as well," she said, managing a glance at Harlan before refocusing on trying to calm herself down. It was stressful, the idea of having four million for the head of a single person was... overbearing. Sure, they have had highest bidder bid for their services but they never went into as high as the millions. When his arm rested across her back, she calmed down significantly, feeling relieved and relaxed, as if she could do anything as long as they were at each others side. But, the idea of their whole entire existence disappearing was... scary. They were famous in the underworld... but... "Thank you, Harlan," she whispered, looking over at him before taking a deep breath and turning the car into drive. She drove away and back onto the highway that led back to her home. "Hold my ticket for me?" she asked, although, her hands clearly still showed that she was still shaking. |

As soon as he heard Ai speak to her, Harlan relaxed. Somehow, he knew that whenever she was nearby, he would be able to calm down from whatever was troubling him. He wanted to calm her down even more, though he thought that the car was probably unsuitable for what he had in mind. Then again, he wasn't entirely sure if she was feeling the same thing. He wasn't sure on what he was thinking of anymore. Tonight has been very… different from what I had anticipated. He turned and looked towards her, himself in deep thought. Ai has done some strange things back at the party. Then again… so have I. What's happening to us? Not before long, Ai had thanked Harlan for calming her down. He smiled back, saying that it wasn't a big problem. Soon they were off, heading back towards her apartment. During the time taken to go back to her apartment, Ai mentioned something. "Hold my ticket for me?" He obeyed, seeing that the ticket was still shaking in her hands. He reached out, taking the booklet that was in her hand. During this, he accidentally brushed his hand against hers, sending jolts across his arm. As he took the ticket away from her, he thought back to the locked up memory. Maybe there was a chance. He certainly didn't know until he had tried something. As they arrived at the apartment, the car remained silent. Though he wanted to say something to break the silence, Harlan waited for her to speak first. -------------------------------- As soon as Harlan and Ai left the office, Damien received a call. Sitting back down into his seat and picked up the phone, knowing who was on the other end of it. "I have sent them to Taiwan," he said, hoping that the person on the end of the line had heard what he had said. "It's a shame that I will have to lose two of the best hitmen that I will have had in a long time." Again, the only thing that he had heard was heavy breathing. Then, a voice spoke out. "Good. The money that I have promised to the Gore Angels will be sent to your account. However, if something goes wrong and they stay alive after their failed attempt, I want you to send your hitmen to track them down and… 'dispose' of them. I don't care how many it will take, but I want them gone." |

Ai finally pulled up to the garage back in the Celica, much to the disappointment of the guards. When she parked the car back in its place, she got out of the car as she took deep breaths. As she beeped the car into lock, she walked on ahead towards the apartment. This time, she briskly walked passed the guards and the guards at the front desk as she pressed a button on the elevator door. She wanted the comfort of her home before she relaxed completely. After Harlan came inside, the elevator ride was short until they reached her floor. The comfort of cooking would relax her... surely... She again did the scans as she did before, but this time, with much more of a quicker pace. As her hand again rested on the handle, as if waiting for it the scan, she grunted the door open until both her and Harlan stood in front of the shimmering screen again. She quickly took off her shoes again and placed them into the closet while she placed her keys into the cabinet before she walked through the screen. Apparently, nearly thin clothes were good enough to walk through. "You can walk on through now too, although your clothes might be a bit singed," Ai said through the screen as she ran into her room to change. As soon as Harlan walked through, he would find Ai in the kitchen trying to get the food ready for dinner, but her hands shook as she clumsily dropped them. Luckily, the covers remained strong on it to prevent it from getting on the floor. Why was she getting so nervous for? It's just like any other job... But... it'd be her last day here since tomorrow they'd have to go. Ai had gotten a look at the times on the plane ticket. She might never... see her home again... She knelt down to pick up the bowls and placed them on the kitchen counter. "I-I'm sorry, I think preparing dinner might take a bit longer than I expected," she said softly, tucking her hair behind her ear as she gazed down at the half-way prepared meal. |
