The English Kitty Ninja

As Harlan relaxed inside his car, trying hard to get rid of the indentation of the garrotte wire, he thought back to what had happened in the bathroom. He remembered the fight that he was in with the two hitmen, Rufus and Rafael. He remembered when he was fighting for his life. He certainly remembered the time when Ai had pressed her lips against his. He didn’t know what had happened during that moment, but he had felt something during that intimate time. For the 5 years that he knew her, kisses like this one were perfect disguises to keep their own guises intact. But, this one was certainly different. They were alone, with no one to see them through live eyes. He could feel something coming from her. A different side of her that he hadn’t seen before. For a while, he had always considered her to be his best friend, though there was only one part of his mind thinking about shooting it to a higher level. Most of the time, he kept that idea locked up in the back of his mind. Now, he was considering whether or not he should do it. "Harlan, you want to stay for the night at my place? Just to make sure you're all right." At first, he was thinking on declining the invite, knowing that he was going to be alright. However, he thought about it, thinking back to the two hitmen that he had to fight earlier. There's a possibility that someone could have seen us run out of the building. However, that was not the only reason why he was reconsidering the invite. He wanted to know what Ai was feeling. The tingling sensation from her kiss on his cheek. Her blushing every time that he kissed her in the usual places that he does at every party. Examining her face again, he sighed, exhausted from the assignment that they had to face. "Sure, Ai." |

Examining her face again, he sighed, exhausted from the assignment that they had to face. "Sure, Ai." "All right," she said with a soft smile as she turned to face him, opening the door, and closing it shut. Expecting him to follow, she headed into the apartment building. That was when she noticed something was off. There could have been no way that there were hitmen already here... Shaking off the suspicion only enough to the point where she appeared casual as she walked up to her mailbox, taking out her apartment keys to unlock the mailbox. The males who were keeping guard that night were watching her appreciatively until they noticed Harlan, turning their gazes away. One of the males who didn't like leering at women and one of her "friends", called out to her, "Miss Juliet, had a fun evening?" After opening her mailbox, she turned to face him and gave him a smile as she replied, "Yes, I did." Of course, he was standing out of view from the camera so her face was not revealed to the camera as she only turned enough to have that much shown. After retrieving her mail, she headed towards the area where the elevators were held, after closing the door to the mailbox. Again, the other males yet dared take another peek at her more or less revealing dress, appreciating the view of her thighs as she leaned more to one side as she waited for the elevator to come to her floor. She didn't notice them looking a second time, because she was looking around casually. If anyone didn't know her any better, they would have thought she was trying to keep her eyes busy while she waited for the elevator but in fact, she was actually looking around for anything suspicious, unable to let go of the gut feeling she had. "David," she called to him, "the elevator is here." |

Harlan watched as Ai got out of the car. As soon as the passenger side door was shut, he opened his door and left his car. Slamming the door shut, he thumbed the key to the lock, the Corvette beeping in reply to the command. He followed her into the apartment building, where he looked around the place for anything suspicious. Although he didn't see anything out of place, the lack of anything suspicious made him concerned about the safety of the apartment. As Ai went to get her mail, talking to one of the men in the room, Harlan looked around the place, trying to find out where the cameras and security features of the building were. As he noted one camera pointing towards the door, he heard her voice again. "David. The elevator is here." He nodded, walking towards the elevator. As the doors opened, he walked in, holding Ai by the hand. Once the lift closed and started to go up, he finally spoke. "Ai… I don't think that the apartment's safe. I think that some of the hitmen from the party are here." He placed his hand in his pocket, holding the handle of his pistol. "Be careful, Ai." Although he usually said those three words as a precaution, he actually added some emotion into his voice. The worst thing that can happen was for her to be injured. Or worse. |

Holding Ai by the hand. Ai wasn't sure what she should be feeling, but the sudden touch when he held her hand when they rode up, the fact that he was saying a soft warning... the warning different from all the other ones he had given her in the past. She couldn't help but feel her heart warm at the idea that he was worried about her. She knew she should take the warning and be cautious. She was, but the fact remains that this was her home, her base. There was just no way that there were hitmen... Suddenly, she knew why it felt off. She abruptly hit the button for the floor that was several floors below hers and the elevator came to a stop. She pulled Harlan out and pulled him towards the stairs, closing the door behind them. When the door shut, she turned to face him, whispering quickly, "There's an empty room on this floor and I think that someone has been occupying it. There was one less security guard today and I think he's occupying this floor for something." She quickly slipped her hand into his pocket, pulling out his hand that held the pistol, unaware of the close and intimate space that they were in. Placing the purse onto the floor, she took the pistol from his hand as she continued, "I'm going to eliminate him... because he invaded my territory... So please stay here." Her territory means as in her home. She readied the pistol and took out her next pair of gloves as she took out each of the bullets, making sure that none of their fingerprints were on it before reinserting it. Looking up towards him, she smiled, "With this, I'm sure we can sleep in peace tonight." Before Harlan could stop her, she left the staircase and ran light steps down the hall, making not a sound, even with her heels. She already knew that there was a room empty and when she found the door slightly open ajar, she pushed it gently and walked in. There was a dim light coming from the kitchen and she almost laughed, thinking that it was amateurish. Stepping lightly on the floor as to not bother the carpet too much with her heels, she moved silently into the kitchen until her shoes touched the tile floor. She cocked the gun and aimed it at the man's head, that was facing backward as he was looking through what appears to be pieces of a gun. The man turned around at the sound of the gun clicking and sharply had a intake of breathe as he realized who he was looking at. He then swore deeply under his breathe before speaking up, "What the hell? You were supposed to come later!" Her eyes cold and her visage expressionless, she only murmured, "Who sent you? Globodex?" "Hell yeah they did, though of course, with that outfit on, I doubt you'd have a voice recorder to record that," he smirked, his eyes clearly looking her over. She shivered inwardly, aware that this man was another one of those hitmen hired by Globodex to take out her fellow kind of hitmen. And those men, were the men she was truly afraid of. They had more power than the average man and she can handle herself plenty against the average man, be he overweight or just plain skinny, but she can't handle... their kind. "You sure look mighty fine tonight... so good enough to eat..." He licked his lips, his eyes burning with desire now. Before she let him say another word, she let the gun go off, the silencer keeping it quiet as the shell hit the floor from the gun. She picked it up from the floor and walked over to the man. Taking out a magnet she found on the table, she used it to pull out the bullet that was in his head, right in the middle of his eyes. The bullet came out with no problem... of course, right after she rubbed it across the forehead a couple times to get it and wiggling out. As it came out, that was when the blood began to start pouring out from the man's head. She pulled off the bullet from the magnet, dropped it into the sink and dumped down a certain kind of acid that occurs when certain household chemicals are mixed together, if in the house without children. The bullet faded down to more than less half of its original size. Then, she flicked on the button that turned on the shredder, the sink roaring as it shattered the bullet to pieces. Then she used the water to clean it away and stopped it. She went to open the window enough to slip her arm out without touching the window. Slipping off the gloves, she dropped it into the dumpster below. Ai then left the room and the apartment, closing the door behind her. Her back seemed to almost reply as she remembered with a shudder as to what happened in a similar situation. She had managed to walk back into the stairwell, grabbed Harlan's hand, as if squeezing his hand for comfort as they entered the elevator again, the camera not moving in the corner. She knew that she had hacked it to turn off at the times when she knew she would most likely be coming home tonight, which was more or less on time, give or take a few ten minutes. She looked to Harlan as she said, "Here's your pistol back..." When they entered her floor, and reached her door, she leaned down towards the pad near her doorknob to give it an eye scan, confirming who she is. Then the pad changed into a flat black slate, as she delicately placed her five fingers in a rather different fashion that most wouldn't usually take the trouble to make, a soft blue color scanned down the pad, beeping green. Then she placed her hand on the doorknob and after a pause, she took out her key from her purse she had picked back up and inserted it into her doorknob, clicking the door unlocked. She pushed with a soft grunt, as if the door was heavier than it appears as she headed inside. She pulled him in by the arm quickly before the door quickly slid itself closed, clicking itself shut as several clicks were heard, all of it sounding as if each lock were a different kind of lock in the door. Probably that was the reason why it was heavier than it appeared to be. Ai looked up with an apologetic smile, "Er... the door only holds to open for me long enough for me to enter, depending on how far I open the door... sorry about that." In front of them, was a screen like door... looking like the surface of water as it rippled and moved slightly with the draft. Beyond, one can make out vague images of the interior as one would see through the surface of a pool or water. Suddenly, Ai blushed deep crimson. "You'll have to forgive me for my security measures... I wanted to have a place where I could sleep without worrying about anything and I usually don't get guests here... or at all, in fact." She took off her hair pin, her diamond earrings, her ring, and anything else that pertains to jewelry. She gently tossed her purse through it, landing silently, as if a pillow had caught it. She slipped off her shoes and slid open a door that was to the side of her, placing her shoes inside as she knelt down to place them on the rack next to her other types of heels. She stood back up as she slid the door shut, the door almost blending into the wall that was almost invisible. About a few inches from the front of the screen was a small step, from the tile floor to the wooden floor, typical found in the fronts of the Japanese homes. Her face still a deep crimson color, she said with an embarrassed tone, "E-Excuse me." If Harlan was confused as to what she was going to do to get through the screen-surface, he had his question answered the moment she slipped off her dress without warning as she did it with such speed, momentarily exposing a long, but faded scar in her back before her hair covered it back over. She tossed the dress through the screen as well, landing on whatever was behind it. Feeling his eyes on her for that mere moment as she blushed deeper as her ears became red as well as the back of her neck, she walked through it, the surface of the screen rippling as it beeped softly, seemingly to verify that it was her. On the other side, she quickly slipped on her undergarment, then her t-shirt, and finally, her short jean pants that exposed all of her legs... as that was the pair of pants closest at the time. Pulling her hair out from underneath the shirt, Ai again spoke to Harlan, "You can just leave your shoes behind on the tile floor and... give me a moment." She clicked on a console nearby that operated her security system and the screen turned off. "Ahem, sorry about that," she murmured, looking at the ground before she headed inside. As soon as Harlan had stepped through the area where the screen was, the screen replaced itself. Ai had quickly clicked away on the console of Harlan's "measurements" so that it would accept him the next time he came through... though not all of them of course. (( -coughs- )) Behind it revealed a rather modern and comfortable living space, her living room in the center, her kitchen, her living room, and three doors that seem to lead to two bedrooms and one door remained open and that appeared to be the only bathroom. Along the counters of the kitchen lay books all over the counters of what appears to be cook books, of which Ai went to rush to clean up and put in the bookshelf. (( This is the closest I can get the images of her apartment, its the second floor one. [x] )) After she did that, she rushed to pick up her dress and purse and managed to say quickly to Harlan, "Make yourself at home... except, don't go into the bedroom yet... you know where the restroom is." She glanced momentarily to the open door of the bathroom. If that wasn't obvious enough, there a small wooden sign on there that said "Toilet", with a few other characters on there that seemed to be Ai's mother tongue. Then she disappeared into one of the bedrooms as she quickly shut the door closed behind her. She had quickly placed the dress into her closet, and took out the jewelry to place back into her jewelry box. She picked out two simple golden-studded earrings that bore only a small diamond on it, much smaller than the one she had before, the kind that girls would first get when first ear pierced. She took out the knife and then put the purse aside, taking out the "perfume" bottles inside as she made her way out of the room, shutting the door behind her, and went into the kitchen to clean the ceramic knife. After she finished, she looked up to Harlan, momentarily forgetting everything that had happened before she had arrived in her home, "What do you think of my home, aside from my security measures?" After she said that, she laughed nervously as she remembered, blushing again. He had never seen her almost all naked before as she had only worn a piece of underwear... (( omfg. My longest post yet. -o-;;; )) Edited by DarkAngel013, Jun 26 2009, 12:57 PM.

Harlan was instantly alert when Ai had pressed one of the buttons that were two floors below her actual apartment floor. As the lift doors had opened, he was pulled away from the lift and brought into the emergency stairwell. Hands holding the pistol, he listened as she talked to him. ”There's an empty room on this floor and I think that someone has been occupying it. There was one less security guard today and I think he's occupying this floor for something." Damn Globodex hitmen! he thought, knowing why he felt suspicious of the apartment building. The hitmen that he encountered earlier that evening were a walk in the park, compared to these guys. He only had to fight a few of them one-to-one, but even he was being strained by the massive amount of fighting that he had to go through. A scar that ran down his torso was one of the few mementos of those encounters. Slowly, he zoned back into reality as he felt her hand went into his pocket and pulled out the hand which the Ruger was in. As the gun switched owners, she looked up to him. "I'm going to eliminate him... because he invaded my territory... So please stay here." Nodding at the request, he watched as she took out the bullets with one of her gloved hands. Once the check was done, she smiled at him. "With this, I'm sure we can sleep in peace tonight." Before he could say anything to her, she disappeared through the door, following the corridor to the apartment that she had suspected. With only a knife to defend himself, he could do nothing but wait. A few minutes went by, and the faint sound of his pistol was heard, knowing that his suspicions were correct. As he relaxed, the door opened. I thought that they would carry on the tradition of two hitmen for the targets, he concluded, seeing a man walking through the door. “Hello there, David. It has been too long since you’ve evaded the grasp of Globodex. Now… prepare to die!” As the man ran forward, spiked knuckledusters encasing both his knuckes, Harlan brought out his knife, the black blade flicking out again. He managed to cut down onto the man’s left hand, causing him to groan out in pain. In retaliation, he man lashed out, the spiked weapon aimed at his chest. It met its mark, causing Harlan to roar out in pain, dropping the knife. The tobacco had prevented the tips from actually pierceing his bones, it still tore though his chest. Seeing his opportunity to attack again, the man grabbed the fallen knife, slashing his target’s arm. Like with the knuckleduster, it had met its mark, the blade cutting through the flesh. Gritting his teeth, Harlan slammed his bare fists against the man’s temple, making the hitman spin on his feet. While he was in motion, he grabbed the man’s neck, his arm taut around it. No matter how many times he stabbed into his leg, the Globodex hitman was unable to get out of his opponent’s grip. After a few minutes of struggling, the body went limp. Grabbing the knife out of the loose hand, he dragged the body into the storage cupboard, locking the body in a rarely used cabinet. Wiping the blood from his own weapon, Harlan went back to the stairwell and waited for Ai to return. Shortly after entering the stairwell, Ai came through the door and took him back to the elevator. Managing to staunch the blood coming from his arm, Harlan looked up to her. "Here's your pistol back..." Accepting it back, he returned the gun back into the pocket that it originally was in to begin with. The pain in his chest and arm started to feel numb, which was something that he thought was alright. At least I can concentrate on getting into the apartment before I get these checked out. As they reached her apartment door, he stood there, watching as Ai started to unlock her secure door. At least it’s secure, he thought, thinking back to his own apartment. Yes, it was rather secure, but he used his security investment for his entire apartment, not just aiming most of it on the door. During the time that she spent opening the door, he thought a lot about her. Somehow, the feeling that he locked up in the back of his mind had finally dominated most of it. When he was pulled in, he heard the door close shut. That must be a heavy door to have those locks in place. "Er... the door only holds to open for me long enough for me to enter, depending on how far I open the door... sorry about that." “It’s ok, Ai. At least you put that money that you earn to good use.” He smiled. As she took off the pieces of jewellery, he noted that the screen that was in front of them was something that he rarely encountered. The surface seemed to ripple, with it designed to check the person who walks through it. Even more secure than I have anticipated. As she finally took her shoes off, he saw her blush again, saying something that he didn’t pay attention to. Before he could ask what she had told him, she took off her dress, leaving him in surprise and awe. Even though he could say that she was attractive with clothes on, seeing her with almost nothing on was something else. He noticed a faded scar, one which he vaguely remembers how it had happened. It was one which happened nearly 5 years ago, when both of them started to work together. He noticed that she was furiously blushing, seeing the redness in her ears and neck. Shortly after throwing the dress through the void, she walked through it, the security measure beeping as she went through. Several minutes later, he heard her voice again. "You can just leave your shoes behind on the tile floor and... give me a moment." As he took his shoes off and placed then in the corner, the screen was turned off, with Ai standing behind it with different clothes on. "Ahem, sorry about that." As he walked through, with her punching something into the computer for the screen, he looked around the place, nodding at the looks of the room. It was rather simple, modern, yet it had a pleasant feel to it. It was certainly tidier than his apartment, though his was rather tidy in its own right. I’ve got to admit, this is somewhere where I would like to stay, he admitted, though he didn’t say his thought out loud. He turned his head towards her as she spoke to him. "Make yourself at home... except, don't go into the bedroom yet... you know where the restroom is." As she disappeared into one of her bedrooms, he started to look around the kitchen area, seeing if there was a first aid kit anywhere. As soon as he located the green box, he popped it open, revealing everything that a kit should have. Taking both his jacket and shirt off, he looked at where his injuries were. The first thing that he went to check was the injury from the knuckledusters. Sighing in relief that it wasn’t as bad as he had thought, he placed a dressing pad onto it and held it in place with the supplied masking tape. His next focus was the cut on his arm. Blood still oozed out of it. He grabbed the bottle of iodine that was inside, walked over to the sink, and applied some of the brown liquid onto it. He hissed as the wound started to sting. Once he cleaned it off the iodine from his skin, he walked over and started to have a look at the wound. It isn’t deep enough for me to go and get stitches, so that’s a good thing. He grabbed a roll from the first aid kit and started to wrap the wound, keeping the bandage firm. Once he had finished tightening the bandage, Ai walked back out again. "What do you think of my home, aside from my security measures?" “It’s certainly has more of a pleasant feeling than my own apartment.” He noticed her blushing again. Looking down to what he was wearing, or rather the lack of a shirt and jacket, he looked up and thought she was blushing at him being topless. He considered that she had been nearly naked in front of his own eyes, but he thought that his chest was something that she was blushing for. “Sorry for looking like this. Another Globodex hitman had attacked me in the stairwell, injuring me.” He quickly closed the first aid kit and placed it back where he found it. |

After leaning against the kitchen bar area, she noticed that he was injured. That must have been the other hitmen from Globodex that usually sent after them. The blood that dripped over his arm, and the pad that was on his chest, made her pale a bit. She hadn't received any injuries, although, she was sure that probably could have if she weren't the one to pull the trigger as she did. However, having since cleaned up a bit, her amber eyes noticed his male physique of his chest and upper torso. The blush had returned as he replied to her question as her mind went in places that usually never went towards to. “It’s certainly has more of a pleasant feeling than my own apartment.” He noticed her blushing again. Looking down to what he was wearing, or rather the lack of a shirt and jacket, he looked up and thought she was blushing at him being topless. “Sorry for looking like this. Another Globodex hitman had attacked me in the stairwell, injuring me.” "It's all right, I'm just surprised you were hiding it from me going up in the elevator," she said, "you have a lot more stamina than I remembered." She walked into the kitchen as well as gently pressed against the injury on his arm. Her eyes seemed to look over it without having to undo it. "It's not as deep as it seems to be, that's good." At that moment, there seemed to be... something there that was not there before. It was as if the room suddenly focused on them and Ai could almost feel his body heat through her shirt... Then she withdrew, snapping herself out of it in the process, and walked towards the fridge, pulling out what appears ingredients for what she usually cooked for dinner. Her blush having faded a bit now until it was the slight pink in her cheeks, she placed them on the counter and said, "Ahem, you can sit down and relax for a bit, I'll cook dinner that's good for the healing of injuries." Amongst the cabinets in the kitchen, there seemed to be a lot of herbs and spices that one usually wouldn't find in a regular home. She brought out a rather worn cookbook and flipped it open to a page as she started to cook, her fingers flying over the ingredients to start the preparation of the meal. "This meal will have to be cut short, since we're both starving," she muttered, mainly to herself as she went to the fridge again to pull out several other vegetables. Having her mind completely focused on the cooking at hand, she wasn't thinking about what had just occurred several minutes before. Dipping her finger into one of the dishes, she licked it clean as she walked over towards where she held her remote controls. Using her clean hand, she pressed one of the buttons and a screen came down from the ceiling and as soon as it finished coming down, the projector came down as well. She then pushed a button for the TV to come on, on the News channel as she went back to humming softly to her head's music and cooking. Edited by DarkAngel013, Jun 26 2009, 11:40 AM.

Harlan noticed that Ai had paled when she saw his bandaged injuries. Noticing the blood that was drying on his torso, he picked a paper towel up and rubbed it off. "It's all right, I'm just surprised you were hiding it from me going up in the elevator," He heard Ai say, looking up towards her. "You have a lot more stamina than I remembered." Before he could reply to what she had said, she walked over to where he was and checked the injury on his arm. He could, though he didn't know how, feel the heat coming from her body, even though she was wearing a shirt. Shortly after he had noticed this, she moved away and walked to the fridge. Getting some food from it, she placed them onto the counter. "Ahem, you can sit down and relax for a bit, I'll cook dinner that's good for the healing of injuries." As he walked into what was the living space of her apartment, he listened to Ai mentioning something about cutting the meal short, though he didn't hear what she had said afterwards. Again, he had a look around her apartment, seeing where the television is. Normally, he would watch something that was completely worthless, but he wanted to watch the news. He wanted to know if the report of what happened at the building was making the headlines. As he was about to give up looking for the T.V, he heard something, making him reach into his pocket for his pistol. When he looked in the direction of where the sound came from, Harlan eased, the projector and its screen coming out of their hiding places. "Well… that's one big television. I guess we can watch the news and see if our escapade had reached the headlines." Soon, the news came one, the pictures of the rubble visible on the screen. Just before he sat down, he felt a little vibration coming from his pocket. Wondering what it was all about, he pulled out his mobile phone. A call? At this time of day? Flipping it open, he put the headpiece against his ear. "Hello?" A short while later, a reply came. "Damien? Why are you calling at this time? Is it about the report on the news?" Some speaking continued from the speaker. "No? What is it then?" He listened, with 'uh-huh' being most of his replies. "Ok, I understand. We'll be right over." Shortly afterwards, he closed his phone. "Ai, we might have to eat later. Damien has called. He wants us to meet him now. As he had said, it's important that he talks to us." Looking around, he looked for a shirt for him to wear, since his white shirt was torn and covered in blood. What does Damien want now? |

Ai didn't hear him talk about the large size of the screen, so instead, she continued to focus on her cooking, completely engrossed in it that she didn't hear him talking on the phone. This is what happens when she cooks, she tends to completely lose herself in the matter of her outlet of letting herself create instead of just destroy. She loved cooking, hence the dozens of cookbooks that had been littering her kitchen counters. Her fingers continued to fly over the cooking and she didn't seem to hear Harlan speak to her, or when he called out to her about their boss... |
