His hips grounded against hers and a contented mewl came from. It felt so good... but why did it feel so good, she didn't know. She managed to catch her breathe when Shura froze for a moment, although for what, she didn't know... perhaps it was because of giving her a break...? But that was when she saw the glimmer of silver and a gold ring. She wasn't sure if what she saw was an illusion or not. Her body had lost the heat that she had earlier and heard him growl... for what? She wasn't sure either. Her body shuddered at his kisses to her shoulder but she was no longer in the mood. Heck, they weren't even married yet and she doubted that it would ever work out. Roughly with strength that seemed to not fit her size, she pushed him away until he was a good distance away from her, but not too far as he was still on the bed. They were sitting up now and her head was bowed down so that he could not see the expression on her face. She withdrew her arms to hug herself as she murmured, "I didn't realize that you were engaged... I'm sorry, my mistake, as usual." Her dark red hair covered her face as she didn't look up. Her legs were pulled close to her as she knelt in front of him, her legs on either side of her. There was a single plip that hit the bed... One of her hands reached up to touch the place where he had nipped her and covered it with her palm. She got up from the bed and disappeared from the room, without him once seeing her face. However, she had left behind a single tear drop on the sheets of the bed that showed something... she was heartbroken without even realizing it. ----------- "I- I have to work tomorrow. We can't-" She sighed and looked at him with helpless amusement. "You are not going to let me sleep in peace, are you?" "No, I won't... but it'll only be enough so that you can walk tomorrow," he murmured into her ear. By then, they had already entered the inn and found with surprise, Sayuri sitting on the bottom of the stairs with an eerily blank look that scared him. It looked like she had been crying as well. "Seryel, I'll leave this to you," he said softly to her as he went to attend to the desk. The expression he gave Seryel was one of worry and a mixture of something else. His eyes darted to the front door and gestured for her to take Sayuri into their room, where they were safe for the moment. When Sayuri had left the room, she still felt his touch so strongly that she started to cry. Even her hair still knew what it felt like when his fingers became entangled in them. She still felt his lips on her skin, her face, her neck, and her lips. She choked back another sob as it threatened to rip from her throat. She curled up in the middle of the platform of the stairs and cried. For a moment, she was blanketed in a magic shield that covered her from those who would see her, but now could not. Even her cries were gone from her as she cried softly until she felt she had cried enough and descended the stairs until she sat down at the bottom, just in time for Seryel and Tryst to come back. Her magic must have disappeared because they noticed her. Tryst's eyes darted to her for a moment, before whispering something into Seryel's ear and then left her side. Sayuri's usual burning ruby orbs were no longer there and in its place was a hollow looking jewel that seemed to have lost its shine. Were the intimate moment kept going, Sayuri's eyes would have turned into the color of a dark smoldering dark blue for her magic would have began to let her feel everything "more" in ways she probably didn't know. Of course, Sayuri herself did not know either. Her hair already covered the mark that Shura had made on her neck and in the dark light of the lobby of the inn, Seryel wouldn't have been able to see it anyway, unless she was paying attention to it or even to look for it. The only thoughts that was running through Sayuri's mind was that she must fulfill her duty. That she wasn't going to die until then. Her hollowed expression looked to Seryel when she came over. It was as if she had become a broken doll that seemed to have lost its use. |

He sat confused and a little stunned. Had he done something wrong? Was he too rough? His body protested against the missing contact, wanting to pull her back into his arms so he could feel her skin and the warmth of it against him. But if she pushed him away, something must be amiss. Shura fought to clear his drugged mind, willing whatever shred of rational control to return. Did she not enjoy it? Perhaps… she didn’t want this at all. But he was sure, that she liked what he had been giving her. A frown creased his brow when she hugged herself, as if he had violated her. Faint dread, along with a trace of disdain took over his confusion. Oh no… this wasn’t going to be one of those situations where the woman would look at him as if it was his entire fault he had seduced her, was it? He had met many of the kind and was tired of them. They were willing and wanton at the start, by the end of it all, they acted as if he was to blame for their lack of control over their desires. "I didn't realize that you were engaged... I'm sorry, my mistake, as usual." He started, suddenly paralyzed by her words. What? Oh shit… his ring. His hand reached up and curled around the ring suspended on a chain at his neck. He wanted to see her face, to read the expression so he would know the full extent of the damage he had caused. Shura was used to seeing the expressions women so freely revealed to him. Even if they were false, they never failed to elicit the tiniest shred of guilt from him. This- Sayuri, he didn’t know. He didn’t need to look to know that he had hurt her badly, but it made him feel detached… and as much as he hated to admit it, slightly afraid. His sharp eyes caught the little droplet of tear as it fell from her hidden face, onto the cloth of the bedspread. His heart twisted painfully at the sight. Before he could reach over and touch her, she had already risen and fled the room. Shura cursed aloud, savagely and pounded his fist into the mattress. Idiot! He was an idiot, no evidence needed to confirm that! He loved Mirai only as a friend. She knew that too. They both knew that. Mirai had told him once, honestly, that she could only see him as her best friend. But Sayuri didn’t know that and it wasn’t the damn issue! Marriage was the problem here! Mirai and he had been trying to hold out the wedding for as long as possible, hoping against hope that something would change her parents’ mind to allow her the freedom of choosing her own husband. In fact, Shura was certain that they were the only couple who had been on the longest engagement ever. What the hell? He cursed again. How could he still be sitting there when the mage he was in charge of had left their safety nest? Growling, he shoved off the bed roughly and hurried out the door. ------------------ Seryel shivered and cast Tryst an accusatory glare, despite her blush. He was using her body against her. And he sounded so smug, being able to take her till her legs were too sore to carry her. There was really nothing she had to complain about. He wasn’t a selfish lover, far from it. There was nothing she wanted in him changed. She loved him as he is. She was just… afraid that he would tire of her, eventually, if she allowed him to have her as he wished- which was near every day. She wasn’t too surprised to see Sayuri at the steps when they entered. Seryel should have followed her instincts… earlier. The girl appeared so broken, so injured inside that her own heart went out to her. Sayuri’s dress was a little rumpled. What had her guard done to her? She felt a little sick at the possible scenario her mind was conjuring. Would her guard… abandon his duty and do that to her? Seryel nodded to Tryst, he gaze never leaving the other woman. She approached slowly, settling herself next to her on the steps. “Sayuri,” she called softly and laid a hesitant hand on one of hers, offering her whatever comfort the mage was willing to take from her. They couldn’t stay at the lobby for long. It wouldn’t be good if people started coming back in. A shadow loomed over them. Startled, Seryel twisted her waist to look behind. She met the golden gaze of Sayuri’s guard. There was remorse in them, and a determined light. He turned away from her and stared at Sayuri’s head. “My Lady, may I have a word?” he sounded hopeful, almost pitiful. “It’s not safe here. I can explain. Will you let me?” |

Sayuri was blank and everything felt numb to her. She felt Seryel's hand touch her own hand and felt comfort. She didn't smile back, feeling if she did, she might return to that moment of pain when she found out the truth of Shura. Why did it hurt so much? Why was it that she only felt... there was two things she knew she felt, but what they were, she didn't know. She's never felt these feelings before. She vaguely heard her name being called by Seryel... as if trying to offer comfort. “My Lady, may I have a word?” he sounded hopeful, almost pitiful. “It’s not safe here. I can explain. Will you let me?” She felt something wrench in her chest and she clenched it through the dress. Without turning her head, she only nodded mutely, without making a single sound. She stood up, without looking up at Shura. For a moment, the mark he left on her was revealed before she let Shura lead her back up into their room. When she was in the room, she walked over to the window without a single glance at him. Her heart felt like it had been torn apart so badly, that she didn't know it could be so inexpressibly painful. She wiped away with her hands any remaining dried tears she might have had along with any possible new ones. She felt if she looked at Shura again, it'd only make her cry again as she was reminded of how he was impossible for her reach... ------------- Tryst watched for a moment until his gaze followed Sayuri back up the stairs. When he heard the door click shut, he walked over to Seryel and asked softly, "How was she? Why did she go... do you think you know?" However, before he could get an answer, the first of the couples began to come and check in for the night and business was at its busiest during this time of the festival. "Tell me later," he said quietly as he got up to attend the desk. "Time for work..." The way he spoke only proved true that he too, was worried about the female that Shura had taken, hoping that she wasn't hurt too badly. It was painful to see anyone like the way she had been. However, the way Tryst had been thinking was what if that had been his wife. What if she didn't like him pestering her to be loved like that way constantly? |

He was vastly relieved to see her nod. He had wanted to help her up to her feet, but she was already on her feet, climbing up the stairs. Her hair slipped away to reveal the red mark at her neck- his love bite. It hit him that he didn’t regret his actions at all. Wrong, it may have been, but he wouldn’t have undone anything. He would have left more of those marks if she hadn’t pushed him away. Strange… it was strangely satisfying see his kiss marks on her. Maybe he needed a cold bath…. Shaking his head, he followed her up and shut the door behind them. What was he going to tell her? He sighed, resting his forehead briefly against the door, before turning around to face her. He hadn’t expected her to move so far away from him, to the window. And it appears she refused to look at him as well. Her words earlier… ’my mistake’. They bothered him first and foremost. He should deal with that first. Striding confidently towards her, he pulled her around to face him, held her chin firmly in one hand and tilted it to press a light kiss on her lips. She could slap him later, but he was going to make his point clear- he had been doing all the work since the beginning. She wasn’t an active participant, at least not willingly at first. She must have felt something, didn’t she? They were both enjoying each other just a moment ago. The little slip of his ring had hurt her. Shura wasn’t about to let her escape to anyone else. He wrapped an arm possessively around her waist, refusing to let her pull away. “Your mistake? What did you mean by that?” he asked. “I started this and I am not ashamed to tell you that I want more.” His gaze dropped to the golden ring that sat above his chest. “Things are not what they seem. I am engaged, yes, but I had never intended to marry.” -------- She smiled when Tryst approached. “I would have done the same for-” she started, but was cut off when customers started filing in. Sayuri’s guard didn’t appear to be an irresponsible person. She was confident they would work things out. And if Sayuri was willing to follow him up at all, Seryel was sure she must have a lot of faith in him. With a contented sigh, she went into the kitchens. |

Sleepy Inspiration
|
Before she could even move, she heard his footsteps come up behind her and pull her around to face him. His hand came under her chin and pointed up towards his face. Before she could register what was happening, he pressed his lips to her own and she felt those emotions inside her flare to life. She was angry, hurt, and something else that she was, and tried to raise her hand towards him. But by then, he had wrapped his arm around her, making her so that she was unable to move by the strong strength he possessed. She looked up for a moment as he spoke: “Your mistake? What did you mean by that?” he asked. “I started this and I am not ashamed to tell you that I want more.” A flicker of something fluttered in her eyes. She appeared almost afraid of something as she seemed to want to speak and hid her face down. She didn't want her hopes to rise again only to be crushed. Wait, hopes for what? Before she could answer his question, she heard him speak again. She glanced up to notice that he had turned his gaze down to his ring: “Things are not what they seem. I am engaged, yes, but I had never intended to marry.” Her face hidden as she looked down, she said softly, "For running out there in the first place and for..." she blushed, "encouraging you." She blushed harder when his words registered inside her mind, but it faded when the word "engaged" came up and she tried to pull away from him. His grip, however, was strong and would not let her go. Her hands were placed on his chest as well to cover her own as her arms covered her. She looked up at him with protest, "Then why do you wear that ring? Why do you wear it around your neck... Why?!" She pushed harder still. It hurt her for even being this close, but knowing that he belonged to someone else only hurt her further. With the fact that they were of different countries, what would happen were his king to find out? Even her own king? She turned her head away from him, again, showing his lovebite to him. She wanted to yell at him, to scream and protest, just so that she would feel better, knowing full well that he... Why was she so upset? Why did she feel so betrayed at the idea that he had another? She stopped struggling when the realization dawned on her. There was no way... Absolutely no way... She had been jealous. Jealous of the woman he was engaged to. She was denying her feelings for him for so long, she had wondered why she had been thinking and wondering about him lately. She had... feelings for him... that was why she felt so betrayed and hurt and why it had felt so brilliant when he had kissed her. But, she could not... she could not tell him her feelings, least it would only end in heartbreak. She is from Rania and he is from Tenarin... Her King would most likely accept it, but she didn't know about Tenarin's... not at all. Her fingers curled around the cloth of his shirt as her head rested against her hands and namely, his chest. "I don't understand..." she said softly at last. |

He laughed and held her tighter. She was telling him that she was a willing participant. “Were you able to resist at all, love?” he purred coyly, nuzzling her hair. Prickles ran over his skin as he breathed in her scent. So… tantalizing. When she started pushing and started questioning about the ring, he sighed. It didn’t take long however, for him to realize that she was throwing a tantrum at him for wearing it. Was she? He should be serious, but he couldn’t help the grin on his face. Oh, she was jealous. Her struggles against him were going to be his undoing. If she could just stop squirming, maybe he could think better. Amused, he shifted against her and locked his arms around her. “You can’t blame a bachelor who wants to dream about being loved, can you?” he teased gently, then he shrugged. “I wear it for a friend. It’s complicated. I am just wearing this, I am just engaged to help a friend.” When she turned to look away, he only sighed, but he leaned close, nuzzling the exposed skin of her slender neck and kissed the red mark. Her felt her hands fisting and lifted his head to look worriedly at her. ”I don’t understand….” A mirthless chuckle escaped him. “I am not quite sure why I like you either,” he said a little sardonically. Truly, he had no idea what he was doing- well, he did, but he wasn’t sure why in the world he had thrown away all care just to have a tiny taste of her. Shura knew of course, after helping her fulfill her search, he could no longer remain in Tenarin. And he- wait…. He blinked, his hold loosening, but still tight enough to prevent her escape. What was it? He frowned deeply, trying to recall something his mind was going to reveal to him. “Don’t worry…” he said dazedly. “I’ll still be your guard and help you with your search.” Shaking his head to clear the mild headache coming up, he smiled at her a little suggestively. “Are there any more questions for me? It’s time for bed if you are done with your interrogation.” Edited by Seiss, Sep 6 2009, 11:21 PM.

Sayuri would have glared at him for laughing and squirmed when he held her tighter. He spoke then. “Were you able to resist at all, love?” he purred coyly, nuzzling her hair. She blushed and let out something similar to the sound of a mew. Quietly, she said her reply in a voice that was barely heard, "No... I've never experienced that kind of thing..." Then she felt him move and lock his arms around her. She gasped in surprise when he had moved. “You can’t blame a bachelor who wants to dream about being loved, can you?” he teased gently, then he shrugged. “I wear it for a friend. It’s complicated. I am just wearing this, I am just engaged to help a friend.” "I lo-" she stopped herself with a snap of her mouth. What the hell was she going to say? She didn't say anything until there was a short pause where she said quietly, "Does that mean you're still searching for the one you wish to marry?" When she had turned her neck, she felt him nuzzle her and his lips press against his lovebite. Her body shuddered with pleasure and her body heat shot up and quite unwillingly too. She felt her emotions shot up with hope when she heard him speak again, although, with a little bit of sarcasm. “I am not quite sure why I like you either,” he said a little sardonically. "Are you being sarcastic?" she snapped. But she watched as he went deep into thought and he had loosened his hold on her... slightly, as she found out when she tried squirming away. She still felt the slight tinge of being hurt from earlier and she didn't want to make things easy. “Don’t worry…” he said dazedly. “I’ll still be your guard and help you in your search.” Shaking his head to clear the mild headache coming up, he smiled at her a little suggestively. “Are there any more questions for me? It’s time for bed if you are done with your interrogation.” She seemed confused about the guard comment. "Aren't you supposed to?" she asked softly, confused as to what he could mean. Outside, the sounds of the festival appeared to still be going on, with the sounds of it dying down. "B-Bed?" she stuttered, her face turning vividly red. She could already feel his touch on her body again, as much as she didn't want to remember right now as her body got hotter. Why did her body have to betray her? Looking down and away from him, she muttered, "Does that mean you love no one else right now?" |

The little sounds she made… he really had to concentrate, or he would end up tearing her clothes off. Her body felt good against his as well. He groaned mentally when she admitted she wouldn’t be able to resist him. That was incredibly tempting. Was she always this honest, even to the most embarrassing questions? He was distracted with his forbidden train of thoughts and was sure he was delirious when Sayuri said something. Was he dreaming, or was she going to say she loved him? So soon? He must be dreaming…. “Hmm?” he mumbled a listlessly when she asked about marriage. “Perhaps. If I am lucky. Are you?” One of his hands traced her spine lazily when he felt her shiver, pressing her closer along the trail. ”Are you being sarcastic?” He simply grinned at her devilishly. ”Aren’t you supposed to?” “Of course. The King would have my head if I didn’t,” he said lightly. “What I meant, love…” he purred and leaned close. “Is that my duties would never change what I should do. I just might chose not to protect you against myself. Much.” He was teasing her. Shura knew better than to let his own desire run amok. His cousin would skin him for even having any appropriate thoughts to his charge. He was supposed to confess any interest he might have, but it was too late now. ”B-bed?” An amused smile tugged at his lips and he finally released her, tugging her by the hand to approach the bed. “Yes, bed. I am a little spent from out little activity earlier,” he teased. Well no, he couldn’t possibly be tired from that, but he certainly didn’t want to end up being unsatisfied- which he knew he would be. Kneeling down and releasing her hand, he pulled out the sleeping mat from underneath the bed and laid down, waiting for her to climb onto her bed. Shura would be all too happy to snuggle up with her, but… he doubted he would get any sleep at all. Joy. “No, I don’t think I love anyone else,” he said, folding his arms behind his head as he studied her. “Should I be?” |

Sleepy Inspiration

“Hmm?” he mumbled a listlessly when she asked about marriage. “Perhaps. If I am lucky. Are you?” "Yes, of course," she said quickly only to shudder as his hands traced up and down her spine, causing lovely sensations in her body that only caused her to stifle in another mewl as he held her closer. He didn't answer her question to whether he was being sarcastic or not and felt quiet about it, deciding to let it drop. Besides, it might only end up badly for her if she did find out that he loved her. The very words sent a lovely chill up her spine. “Of course. The King would have my head if I didn’t,” he said lightly. “What I meant, love…” he purred and leaned close. “Is that my duties would never change what I should do. I just might chose not to protect you against myself. Much.” She only uttered a gasp as she tried to pull herself more away from him. But his body felt so nice against her own... especially since she felt so much safer in his arms than she did anywhere else. It was odd, knowing that this man was the one man she felt safe with when she knew she should be running, especially after being hurt like that. And especially after that, she felt like she should not trust his words... but she wanted to believe in them. Was it because she held something for him? His amused smile bugged her slightly and he released her, tugging her by the hand towards the bed. “Yes, bed. I am a little spent from out little activity earlier,” he teased. “No, I don’t think I love anyone else,” he said, folding his arms behind his head as he studied her. “Should I be?” "Liar," she hissed, watching pull out the sleeping mat that he would be sleeping on and watched him lay down. She crossed her arms across her chest. She was glad that he released her hand so that she could do so, finally feeling... free? She didn't know. She listened to his words of loving another and felt something inside her heart tear slightly. Her eyes flickered for a moment before she avoided looking at him and walked over him, the hem of her dress brushing the middle of his stomach as she got onto the bed. She pulled out her sleeping gown from her bag and held it up to herself, feeling rather exposed. Seryel had washed her clothes and had put them into her bag as she smelled the fragrance of freshly washed clothes. She should go bathe before she respectfully wore them. Deciding that she will bathe tomorrow in the washroom, she let her magic wash over her, like a wave of water. Then she curled up in bed with the blanket over her as she mumbled to Shura stiffly, "Good night." Her back was facing him so he could not see her expression. ---------- The next day, Sayuri had awoken earlier than Shura did, as she found him still sleeping on the sleeping mat. She leaned down towards his sleeping face and poked it once, before deciding that this was the best time now to bathe while Shura is asleep. When Sayuri had walked by a bathroom mirror, she had found that his mark on her neck was still there and flushed immediately on remembering. "Stupid Shura," she mumbled as she began to strip off her clothes. She doubted after last night, she was going to be able to give back to dress to Seryel now. She sighed as she placed it onto the floor as the hot water just turned on... after she finished washing herself, she let herself soak in the water for awhile, her wet hair piled up on top of her head as she played with the water in the air. She made it into small shapes, large shapes, and before she knew it, she found that she was making shapes of her castle in Rania. She wondered why for a moment, as she let it drop back into the water. It wasn't really home, but it was nonetheless, far more of a home than anywhere else, for the others knew of her strange tattoo. Gingerly, she touched her back and found that it did not burn like it would. Eve was inside the bathroom, ruffling her feathers as she spoke to Sayuri. "I came back this morning with message to you from your king," she told Sayuri softly, clicking her beak together rather quickly. Sayuri frowned and hovered the message in the air and found that the letter had only been on one on asking her how goes her progress. "Is there another one that would need of my concern? And here's my reply back," she said as she wrote a new message in the air before it was gently rolled up and compressed to be placed around Eve's leg. "The king had another he wanted to send to you, but he failed in finding it, saying that he didn't need to use magic to find it." "Stubborn fool," Sayuri muttered, as she let herself sink into the water some more before rising back up and drying herself off. She let the dirty water drain as she let her hair down, taking out a comb and beginning to comb through her hair. She noticed Shura's mark, even though she had thought she had clearly tried to wash it off... but her cheeks only burned upon remembering again. Carefully, she turned her back towards the mirror and to her discovery, the tattoo had been the same size as it had been when she last checked back at the Tenarin castle. Eve again clicked her beak together as if the smell of the room was too much. "What?" "You smell more like a flower than a human," she stated. Sayuri snapped, "I am not a flower." Although, she wondered what Eve could have meant as she opened the door slightly so that Eve could fly out and rest on the chair. Slipping on her undergarment and then her simplistic white gown that only stopped above her knees, with small straps on her shoulders, and the hem flaring out slightly. She began to hum a hymn from her home as she opened the door, before she, of which, had picked up the dress and undergarments she had worn the night before. Quickly, with magic, she washed those clothes and then placed them into the bag as she danced silently over the sleeping Shura and over to her bed. She sat on the bottom edge, in front of a mirror on the table. With a touch of magic, she opened the window so Eve could go out and then closed it. She continued humming quietly as she slowly brushed her hair out until it would begin drying out. From behind, all of her hair had been pulled to the front, so it revealed only her upper back, where some of her tattoo peeked out as well as some parts on her shoulder blades. The ones on her shoulder blades looked like feathers with thorns covering it. Edited by DarkAngel013, Sep 7 2009, 11:59 PM.

A smile crept across his lips when he heard the door close. He was amused that she had bothered, or even had the thought to poke his cheek at all. What gave her the idea, he didn’t know. He left their room, asking for a bath prepared in another room. It didn’t take long for him to bathe, since he preferred cold water. No need to trouble the servants to warm the bath when he didn’t want to feel warm. As soon as he was finished, he left for the kitchens to pick up Sayuri’s breakfast and ate his own. Her medicine had already been prepared, thanks to Seryel’s instructions to the servants in the kitchen. He took the tray up and slipped quietly into their room, closing the door behind him with a click. She had her back facing him, but she was wearing such a skimpy dress that he was staring. Really… women in Tenarin wore those as their undergarments, for goodness sakes! That… flimsy thing would attract the entire male population in a heartbeat. They’d think it was an open invitation- that she was trying to seduce them. Oh hell, she needed a Tenarin lady to teach her what to wear and how to behave. Heaving an exasperated sigh, he approached the table and laid the tray down. “Love, do you know that only men can see their wives dressed like that? It’s improper for an unmarried lady to wear nothing but undergarments before her guard.” Shura motioned towards the food tray and beckoned her to come. “Someone needs to teach you, I see. Come eat. Are your legs fully healed?” ---------- She was in a very good mood today. Seryel had just glimpsed Sayuri’s guard. He seemed cheerful enough. Perhaps they had already resolved whatever conflict between themselves. She wiped the tables with a wet rag, a smile on her face. There were a few more round tables to go, but it didn’t bother her. She wasn’t tired, not after the good night’s sleep. It was a little surprising, that Tryst didn’t try to seduce her at all last night. He always meant his words. A small frown creased her brows when the thought crossed her mind. But she shook her head after, the contented smile back on her lips as she resumed her work. She was completely spent last night and he probably was too. Her hand paused a slight blush crept up her cheeks, not of embarrassment but of worry. How many times had they been at it? Did Tryst want children? Her free hand drifted to her flat stomach and she stared a distractedly at the grainy surface of the table. Could she carry a child at all? She had been trying to avoid it- thinking about her condition… it had been so long…. |
