There was nothing he could do, with Resee's condition. She wouldn't let him in to help her. He had been watching her for the longest time, helpless with his inability. The sisters' had only a distant relative for a family- their uncle. He doubted the man was any importance to Resee now. They rarely ever meet. Who else can Resee lean on at a time like this? He didn't know what to do. When the maage was done, he cast Resee one glance, before shifting over to pick up her sister. She responded with a start, her eyes wide and pleading, as if asking him not to take her away. "I'll care for her. She deserves a funeral like the rest. You can see her later, if you wish," he assured her. It took a lot of effort for her to nod, conflict clear in her eyes. She only turned to the mage when she took her hands. Part of her still wanted to run to Jegan when he stood up and walked away with her sister. "Keira is sleeping, isn't she?" she asked softly, with that same haunted smile. OOC [you can fast forward to night time and just take them to the Lake of Runes. The one that the Inscriptors guard.] |

Sayuri watched the moments before Jegan and Resee and noticed that Jegan seemed to have that expression one would have when they felt helpless to make the situation feel better. She felt helpless too, for she still felt the guilt that plagued her mind... She watched Keira being lifted and Resee's sudden alarm at it as her eyes widened. When she turned her attention back to Sayuri, and asked her a question, she replied, "Yes, she is and she's dreaming beautiful dreams." ~~~ Her fingers fumbled over the basket as they fell to the floor, not before she used her magic to stop it from hitting the grassy ground. She sighed a breathe of relief, placing the items back into basket. Eve fluttered nearby before landing on the ground beside Sayuri. She crooned gently before Sayuri noticed her, bending down to touch Eve's head as magic then flooded the bird. Since it takes quite a bit of magic to make Eve into a bird so that she has no magic, it also takes quite a bit of magic to make her human again. For Sayuri, this isn't too much of a problem. With an astounding amount of white light coming from the bird, the light grew bigger as the light engulfed the bird and her shape then became that of a human female, garbed in the simplest of clothing that seemed almost transparent as it reached her ankles, the sleeves hanging off her shoulders and wrist. She had the symbol of the crescent moon on her forehead, as if tattooed. Her startling piercing golden eyes stared forward, waiting. Her hair having an eerie silver quality as it seemed to shimmer in the moonlight. "Ready?" Eve asked Sayuri, her voice surprisingly soothing and melodic, as if that was the words of how the bird would sound like. Sayuri nodded and watched as Eve stepped onto the surface of the water of the lake, and then began to walk on its surface. Closing her eyes, and then using the magic that Sayuri had given her earlier, she began to move her fingers in a certain pattern until the water before her glowed a soft and gentle tinge of azure. Sayuri disrobed herself and walked into the water, kneeling slightly as she pulled forth her staff, its sapphire jewel glimmering. Eve's hands was then above her head, as if she were trying to reach for the moon, her hands positioned to do so. Sayuri waded into the water until she was waist deep and began to use her staff like a quill, writing in the air as the water then around her began to dance and swirl around her. As she did so, the water continued to dance around her until it began to swallow her up, plunging her deep down into the water before Eve, who was glowing the same color as the moon. Suddenly, Sayuri was launched into the air, spinning a fountain of water following on after her, covering her body as it helped her reach high heights and then, at the highest point, her staff was pointed higher than her physical body, its jewel glowing brightly as a star would before fading. Below, Eve looked as if she was the one in control of the fountain that shot Sayuri up. Then, as quickly as Sayuri shot up, the water pulled her down just as quickly, its water sprinkling down like rain back into the lake, without so much as a splash from Sayuri's place of where she landed back in the water. Eve's glowing crescent then faded back to its original form and she knelt down before where Sayuri landed as her maroon head popped back up, kissing Eve's forehead. At the touch, a soft, quiet ring rung and holding both of Sayuri's hands at Eve's arms, another white light engulfed Eve's body and her body changed that back into a bird and Sayuri released the bird back into the air. The bird then landed on the shore, next to where Sayuri's clothes lay. With the change of Eve back into a bird, the water's glow then changed back to its original state. Eve then ruffled her feathers, as if getting herself comfortable to go to sleep. Sayuri swam close towards the shore, poking her head out of the water. "Resee, I'm done now... want to join me?" she asked, smiling softly. |

Everything was in such a haze, as if she was watching everything behind the dusty glass of a window. She had quite easily forgotten who she had asked to enter the Lake of Runes too. Whether it was Scriptor Aurus, or Orion, her mind registered neither. Resee only knew someone said yes. She trailed like a ghost behind the mage. Her response to anything was minimal, if any at all. Even though her eyes saw the falling basket, her body and mind failed to react. Everthing about her was stagnant, slow, silent. Not even suprise was able to shake her out of her daze. Resee could only stare at the bird that turned into a human, the magical burst of water from the lake, the flickering mana droplets.... The armour she usually wore had been removed. Leaving her in a beige cotton clothing that is a cross between a dress and a shirt, with a slit that start from her hip. Its hem touched just above knees. Underneath, she still had the fitting pants. It was the basic attire of the female Rune Knights when their armours were undone. Somewhere, at the back of her mind, she wondered why she couldn't feel the wind. Enthralled by the mage's ritual, she stood silent at the bank and watched. How odd- to see something so facinating, yet she had no curiosity towards it. "Resee, I'm done now... want to join me?" she asked, smiling softly. Maybe she would feel the cold of the water. With a small, listless nod, Resee undid her pants in the same daze and stepped into the water. So strange... the cold felt as if it was outside. The embroidered hems of her dress floated under the gentle currents, while the pure, cool water seeped up into the very fibres of the fabric. Edited by Seiss, May 11 2009, 01:41 AM.

Sayuri noticed her blank stare and swam over to Resee until she was in front of her. "Aren't you going to bathe with me?" she asked softly, wondering why she was still wearing clothes... barely. Her body was covered by the water and her maroon hair was scattered about in the water, keeping her body submerged below the waters surface, keeping only her neck and up above the water. |

"I am," she replied almost automatically. "I'm sorry... it feels like I am dreaming all of this." She didn't know why she told her, but she did anyway. Dipping her hands into the water, she watched the droplets of water slip through her fingers and drip back into the lake. The water was as clear as she had first entered the lake, long ago. Resee waded to the edge of the shallow portion and soaked herself in the water, dress and all. She felt the faint coolness of water in her hair and glanced over her shoulders to see the ends of her dark brown hair fan about her. Holding her breath, she slipped underwater, hoping that the cold would get into her head. She didn't manage to stay long, since she hadn't prepared to breathe in deep enough. Several stones with bright green moss glowed dimly deep underneath. They appeared like any common stone to the anyone. But a large circe of them, something started to beat, like a living heart. |

"It's all right," she replied, looking up reassuringly at Resee. She knew as much as anyone how difficult it would be to try to coop with the feeling of grief of losing someone, and Sayuri knows her fair share. She watched Resee for a moment before following on after her, diving after she had taken a deep breathe. She hovered underwater for a moment, looking about her in the underwater realm before kicking to reach the surface. As she broke the surface, she looked around herself, her hair fanning out and moving slightly as she kept herself afloat. Are those rocks glowing? she thought and she felt the beat... as if it were a living heart. She gasped softly, turning sharply to find where its source. |

The glow intensified, shifiting between hues of bright blue and strong violet. The heart of it- the centre of the lake throbbed, flickering in a weak white light to reveal the faint lines of something like a circle of faded glyphs. The lines were blurred by the growth of aquatic vegetation, but it continued to throb like a strong heart. Familiar essence of Ranian magic seeped away from it, flowing with the current in the water. Resee could feel it warm her blood and set the rune on her back alight. She frowned slightly, recalling her own branding ritual. This was how the lake reacted whenever the Rune Knights were "blessed". But the lake never glowed on its own. The Inscriptors had to initiate. Hollow murmurs of rushing water, mingled with indistinguishable whispers surrounded them. An image- of a babe with black hair and golden eyes, wrapped snugly in white linen. The next- a mass of black feathers tinted gold. And the most distinct of all- an immaterial orb with opalescent threads that wrapped around its light blue core like spider webs, held the seal of Rania's Royal family. Then in a hushed murmur, the lights vanished in a blink of an eye. Edited by Seiss, May 11 2009, 02:24 AM.

Sayuri gasped with surprise when she felt the familiarity of Rania magic flow through the water. She turned her head sharply to Resee as if asking why was her kingdom's magic was here. It startled her greatly when she thought that Tenarin didn't have such things as Rania magic. She watched with slight awe and a little bit of fear as she turned to watch the images. For some reason, when she saw the baby, she thought of Shura. With slight alarm, she noticed the black feathers tinted with gold, finally remembering the black-gold feather she had found the first day she came here. Why she suddenly remembered, she did not know. Her breathing hitched sharply, causing her to start coughing when she realized she saw the orb with the seal of Rania's Royal family. She couldn't believe this. Why was that image of the seal here?! She was so shocked with surprise, that she swam ashore to keep herself from drowning. This was ridiculous, why would Tenarin have the seal to the curse of Rania's Royal family? Also, why did Tenarin have Rania magic in their lake? Her mind began to think clearly for the first time as she realized that the black-gold feather she found must belong to someone here. She knew it couldn't be Jegan, who was with Resee at the time that the griffin appeared, and she knew that the other candidates that appeared in her mind couldn't be it either. Shura wasn't there when he ought to be for he is the captain when the griffin showed up. If Shura was the griffin, it would explain how he had gotten her to the castle so quickly, how he had those injuries, why he had gold eyes and black hair. But it didn't make sense, if he was the griffin, then why...? She sat on the bank of the lake, holding her head between her hands, as if she was deep in thought. Her looked so surprised and shocked as her mind whizzed through the possibilities, she was wondering why about so many things, mainly, why Tenarin had the seal of the Rania Royal family; she just couldn't let it go. Sayuri finally calmed down and looked up to Resee with a blank expression as she asked, "Why does this lake have the magic of Rania? Why was there an image of the seal of the Rania family suddenly appearing here? Why..." Her eyes fell, as if she suddenly realized that most of her questions probably wouldn't be answered, especially the one concerning the griffin and Shura. She took a deep breath to further calm herself and looked to Resee anyway, wondering if she was going to answer, but knowing that her mind was still numb from the passing of Keira, she wondered if she would even be able to answer at all. |

Resee saw the images as well and the suprise- the sight of Shura, as a baby, the griffin and the strange orb of mana made her freeze and stare. Her mind's circuit had cut off completely. What is that? What did- She wasn't shocked with what the lake presented, but just a pang of unexpected suprise. "Why does this lake have the magic of Rania? Why was there an image of the seal of the Rania family suddenly appearing here? Why..." She looked at the mage with slight confusion. Why was she so affected? Rania's magic? "Rania's magic?" she repeated the question in her mind. "The Lake of Runes holds mana that comes from nature. I don't know...." Her sluggish mind however, was already wondering if the Lake of Runes was trying to tell them something. Perhaps, something of what Sayuri was sent here for. Stepping out of the water and onto the bank, she tried to resist a shudder when the cold night wind whispered past. She didn't feel up to any thinking or answering any questions. "I'm tired. Would it be alright, if we discuss this tomorrow?" |

Sayuri looked up, suddenly feeling the slight chill that she felt. She got up and walked over to the towel and dried herself off. She heard Resee's reply to the questions... and wondered why on earth this was happening. She only managed to nod mutely to Resee's question as to discussing it tomorrow as Sayuri dressed herself, using her magic to dry her hair and collect her belongings, Eve not needing the prodding to wake up; Eve had felt and watched the images as well. She followed Resee out, her mind still going around in circles. She didn't know how, but after dressing herself properly, she fell to sleep in the bed, her mind restless as well as her body. ~~~ Somewhere way away from the castle in Tenarin is a pair of the negotiator and his guard. It was morning and the both of them were anxious to get to their mage, and see how she fared. However, one of them wasn't really worried about her safety in general. The negotiator was there to try to resolve the issue as to why Mage Sayuri was going to be sent back and to see if they can try to rearrange the issue of having her still stay there. The man was tall at the height of six foot one, with brown hair, and hazel eyes. He had a fair build but, it wasn't one that many would say that makes him strong. He has the aura that makes him seem wiser beyond his age, but he's a bit slow on some takes. His guard followed up behind him, watching warily at the surroundings as they passed through the borders of Rania and Tenarin and a bit of ways from the castle. He was of strong build, better than that of his client. He had dirty blond hair and piercingly pale blue eyes that it almost seems like it was white, were it not for the clear tinge of pale blue. He had wheat colored skin and stood at the height of five foot eleven, and seemed capable of doing things with his fingers that might not even be possible. His looks seemed impassive as he went ahead of his client on his black horse, wondering what Mage Sayuri had done... although, knowing what had caused it, it was mainly on their part. "Wait up, Alastor," the negotiator called. "I think my horse is slowing down..." The guard named Alastor turned his horse around and pulled up his horse beside the slowly walking horse. "What's wrong with him?" he asked. "I think he may be tired," he replied, patting the horse. "Tired already? Come now, Dominic, we've only-" Alastor groaned. "We did pretty much make the horses run ever since we could get the horses to move, Alastor," Dominic said, cutting off his sentence. "And besides, don't you think we should have gotten more people to accompany us here, so that we wouldn't get attacked?" Dominic was the one who was able to wield magic whilst... Alastor did not wield anything as such as that. He looked at Dominic for a moment before replying, "I'm sure you know that answer to that one without having my need to answer it." "Ah," was all he said. They pulled their horses to a stop, at the checkpoint where the King of Tenarin had said that the Rune Knights were going to come and pick them up to lead the way to the Royal Palace grounds. |
