OOC [OKay... I didn't expect magic arrow... or magic bird >_>;; Thou has pressed on EJECT button] She followed the mage dutifully, but what came next was unexpected- an arrow that bore a letter from Rania. What is the meaning of this? Her anger flared, simmering deep underneath. Her face was smooth was dangerously calm. She wasn't even amused with the mage hitting her head on the wall, unlike in normal circumstances. The mage should get her brains pilled from her skull from this. Reaching out sharply with her gauntlet hand, she grasped the mage's elbow in a relentless grip and pulled her around. The bloody bird that had just arrived may be magical for all she cared. The mage had already breached- or rather, Rania and their embassador had breached Tenarin's protocol- nothing with the slightest drop of mana in them may cross the borders without explicit permission. Otherwise, what in hell was the point of strictly allowing one mage into their coiutry? They might as well have invited the entire Ranian population. Keira wouldn't be suprised if the king already knew. There were barriers around the country's borders that detect such movements. Of course, Rania didn't know that. "Time to see his Lordship, mage," she said coldly, her emerald eyes piercing and hard. The rune on her back responded to her anger with a sudden flare upon her hand's contact on the mage's skin. "You'd better keep the bird in check as well. Or its life will be extinguished." A couple of Rune Knights on patrol had paused in their steps, hesitant about intevening. |

Sayuri almost hissed in reply when Keira grabbed her arm sharply, but kept her calm, despite the grip and her face seemed surprised at first before fading out to something of a face that seems to understand the graveness of the situation. She knew that the bird was not ordinary but the bird did not in any way have any kind of magical powers. Heck, out of form, the bird will only be as considerate as a regular human. There was nothing really special about the bird if one looked at it; heck, the bird was as ordinary as any other bird, despite its size. (( The bird may look mystical and such but there was not a single drop of magic in the bird. O_o It's like telling Shura that he can't be a Griffin, which he obviously is. -_-;; Unless he uses magic too and I didn't know. >_> )) Despite Keira's grip, Sayuri understood why she was getting worked up for. Why send a bird with magic if this was going to happen? Her king was not stupid. She could already feel the grip causing her a deep bruise in her arm, but she did not flinch nor did she use her magic to heal, fearing that the magic might be reflected onto herself. But she already felt the counter-magic inflicting on her skin and she winced painfully. Sayuri's entire being was pretty much magical and such contact was painful and felt pretty positive that the counter-magic already broke through her skin. I probably won't heal normally now... in that area, she thought with grimace. And that I'll probably die at one of their hands... should I lose control of my powers and use them on people... then again, I wonder about that... Sayuri didn't say anything to Keira's comment about seeing the king. This was bad news already and the main reason for why Sayuri groaned in the first place... but this was absolutely necessary for Sayuri, and all of its mages. Slowly but quietly, Sayuri whispered, "This bird is like any other bird and even if the bird had 'magic', the bird would not be here, now would she...?" She knew there was probably no way to soothe her anger and probably newfound hatred towards Sayuri, after all, her kingdom had breached the treaty they somewhat had and now, she felt sure, that she will never soothe what her king had hoped, to foster a better relationship with Tenarin. But it was probably needed for Sayuri's sake, otherwise... things will probably just get a whole lot worse for herself and the kingdom of Tenarin, what with Rania's Mage Traditions... Eve fluttered restlessly, its sharp eyes almost seemingly glaring at Keira. Almost as if saying and conveying that the bird was not... with a drop of magic in her. She probably couldn't even protect herself against magical or non-magical things. Sayuri winced again, feeling the counter-magic do its work. She could feel the warm blood seeping down her arm. After a pause, she spoke again as she gazed into Keira's angry eyes, "Take me to him, as your protocols insists. I'll explain it to him and the rest of your knights too if need be." She didn't say anything about the bird because the bird wouldn't be able to do anything much anyway, much less help Sayuri in any way. Then softly as if almost inaudiable, "As your traditions and beliefs must be executed, so shall the need for mine... mainly for the sake of my life." Eve was one of the Priestesses who watched over the Rituals, and is considered one necessary to watch over it, making sure everything was smoothly done. If something were to go wrong in the Ritual, Eve would take her position and stop the Ritual... as the way to stop Sayuri's was not in any way related with magic; therefore, Eve was able to come across the borders without inflicting damage upon herself as their counter-magic would have most likely have killed her off. (( I'm just assuming the barrier keeps out Mages in general. ._. or every other mage out there and the only reason she was allowed to pass was because of... the agreement. And just when you give them a break, I've caused up a storm. FUN. -is sarcastic and shakes head at the drama- And I think I screwed up somewhere in there of my post. )) |

OOC [Tenarin only set up sensor barriers at its borders, not the entire country >.>; that would kill the poor king. ANYTHING magical that crosses will simply send an alarm. And I wasn't too concerned with your bird- it's the ARROW :x And honeh, if the bird is a human... then what does the human use to become the bird? *scratches head* not magic? As for Shura, he's already in the country. The only time the Tenarin king will sense his magic is if he stands at the borders. Which he did, but then the king already knew. The idea of the barrier is simply to sense anything that crosses it. The barrier doesn't harm anything. It SENSORZ 8D And dern you has the ENTIRE Rune Knight Order on your tail 8)] "This bird is like any other bird and even if the bird had 'magic', the bird would not be here, now would she...?" Keira raised a brow then let it drop and narrowed her eyes at the mage. "You are once again answering things 'I've never asked," if one could measure the tempreture of a voice, hers would have caused a frost bite. "Why wouldn't the bird be here? As for the bird's magic- it doesn't concern me in the slightest nor have I asked." What in hell was the mage spewing? Keira was certain that no one aside from the king, his royal subjects and the Order knew about the barrier. Why was the mage speaking as if she was contemplating the barrier's capability? So livid she was, that Keira hardly noticed the wetness seeping through her porous glove. Her fierce gaze left the mage's for a moment to look. She would have been suprised and perhaps worried if it weren't for the mage's infuriating tendencies- answering questions never asked and random ramblings that somehow touched upon Tenarin's secrets. Instead, Keira wactched her blood flow with a chilling curiousity, the pressure of her grip unchanging. So. The mage had riddled herself with working magic? She couldn't think any other possible reason that would cause the mage to bleed by her touch. Interesting. The whisper of wings beating against air made her look up directly at the bird. There was no longer the thoughtful depth in her green eyes. They appeared almost stone hard, elecrtifying and penetrating. "Take me to him, as your protocols insists. I'll explain it to him and the rest of your knights too if need be." She didn't say anything about the bird because the bird wouldn't be able to do anything much anyway, much less help Sayuri in any way. Then softly as if almost inaudiable, "As your traditions and beliefs must be executed, so shall the need for mine... mainly for the sake of my life." A tight smile without the slightest hint of friendliness drew an uncaring expression. She met the mage's gaze with an indifferent one. "If you had informed us of your needs, this wouldn't be a problem. You don't seem to understand the severity of this situation, do you?." How... naiive. "You are not the only one at fault. Your country- Rania, has broken her agreement with Tenarin. You may have initiated the breach, but as a representative of your country, Rania will be held responsible- not you. As for you life- it's no longer our responsiblility." The Order would be preparing a squad to go to the borders now. It would be pointless for them to search. Keira looked about and quickly sought out the nearest Knight. "Ride to the headquaters and inform them that the trespasser has been found." The Rune Knight gave her a curt bow and hurried off on his way. To the other Knight, Keira gave him another instruction, "Go ahead of me and inform his Lordship. I will bring the mage to see him." Similarly, he swept briskly away. She spared the mage a brief glance before tugging her along towards the hall. |

(( Well, do you count spiritual power as magic? O_o Because that's what Eve is basically using. Somewhat. )) Sayuri didn't say anything. She realized that her statements and such were no longer needed nor were they asked for. She ought to stop doing that. Or commit suicide cause she just ruined probably the only frail bridge that Rania had. Her needs... well, per say, weren't discovered until now, after a few days of being here. She had been spaced out and not in particularly thinking about herself at the time, more of her country instead. After all, she was leaving her own to enter another, leaving behind home and such would cause her mind to fry and think she had everything but in fact, just like when one would worry about what to bring for a trip, people would often forget a few important things that they would all usually regret forgetting. The main reason for the bleeding was mostly because of the anger that was reflected from Keira's anger, had flared for a moment upon contact on Sayuri's arm. So, she was going to die now? How mildly amusing, if it were not for the fact that she figured that it was going to come to this. Trespassing? Am... No, there's no way I was going to live after this nor is Eve going to live either, she thought, surprisingly calm despite the fact that her life was going to be executed. ... Wait. Was the Full Moon tonight or was it tomorrow night? She hadn't thought of when the full moon was... coming so soon. She had assumed it was a few days away but when the Priestess appears, then the Full Moon was near, very near. This was bad. Very bad. She already felt the familiar tug. Although it was still night time, Sayuri gazed up in the sky as Keira spoke with another Rune Knight. In her ruby eyes was the reflected moon, almost completely full. She winced then. She already felt the power begin to grow, but she held it back. There's no way she was going to use her magic now of all times. "I'm sorry, but please don't blame Rania," Sayuri whispered, her voice so quiet it would have been a wonder if Keira heard it. "It was my fault for forgetting about my needs when I should have informed the king the moment I first met him." Again, her voice was so soft and quiet, it again would have been amazing for Keira to hear. Lady Sayuri, you must escape now! I'm sorry that I came! I wasn't aware of the arrow! Eve thought, pushing that thought into Sayuri's mind. If it were not for the fact that Keira was tugging her along, Sayuri would have smiled at Eve and then shook her head but now there's no way now she could do that. I'm afraid I can't do that, Eve, Sayuri thought sadly. If I do, then it'll destroy whatever little, brittle trust that the king of Tenarin has in Rania. Although, I can assume that it's probably destroyed by now... She winced with each tug, feeling the bleeding continue. At the rate that the bleeding was going, she might lose a lot of blood, her eyes noting the droplets on the floor as they walked. |

Oh yes, she heard the mage as clearly as the chiming of temple bells. "I'll let his Lordship decide who is to blame." She had her goal fixed solely on getting the mage to the hall as soon as possible, but her hold on the mage's bleeding arm was starting to feel slippery. What in the world is with the girl? Did she have butter for skin? Thoroughly annoyed, she released her arm and grabbed onto the fabric of her sleeve. Sweeping swiftly past corridors and courtyards, she stopped for no one. Everyone scuttled to give way, curious but at the same time, apprehensive about the famed Rune Knight's fury that was practically radiating off her. The hall had its tall, heavy doors already open when they arrived. The king stood facing one of the tall windows at the far end, his back to them. Two men dressed in emerald green with white lining flanked his sides. One was elderly, but he stood straight and regal, silver hair combed back. He held a kindly expression on his wrinkled face and his pale blue eyes shone with intelligence mingled with a layer of mystique. The other was much younger, perhaps in his late twenties. His soft black hair was short and smooth, with some unruly locks hanging above his brows. He looked at them with a empty gaze of cold brinestone, as if he had the power to determine life and death. Keira pulled the mage forward before falling to one knee. "My Lordship, I've brought the mage." She wasn't particularly happy to see the two Inscriptors, so she purposefully neglected to greet them, hiding under the excuse of her hurry. "Rise." The Tenarin king turned slowly and his calm but fierce eyes of amber rested on the mage. "I've informed the Order to call off the search, my Lord," Keira reported as she stood up. She gave the Inscriptors no more than a shallow acknowledging bow. "Good." The King's gaze never left the mage, however. Faint disappointment flickered underneath, not directed at the young woman before him, but at the thought of Rania's breach. "There will be no agreement. You will be deported to your home country tomorrow." |

When Keira released her arm, she quickly covered it with a piece of her gown. Apparently, everyone feared Keira's anger. She watched the scenes unfold before her before she was pulled forward when Keira knelt on one knee in greeting the king. When Sayuri looked up to the king's eyes, she felt as if she were gazing into a lion's eyes. She saw the flicker of disappointment. She noticed the two men next to the King and wondered who they were before remembering that those were the men she saw at the library the other day. She curtised while flinching but stood back up again when she finished as she spoke calmly, trying her best not to lose herself, "Your highness, it is really just my fault for a stupid and clumsy mistake." She bowed her head. "I should have informed you of the Rituals that the Mages of Rania does once a month on the night of the Full Moon," she explained, her eyes calm still. "I had not been expecting them to do something as silly and reckless as to send me a message by arrow... especially a magical one. The message itself is of nothing to consider but it had been a clumsy mistake that came from my own. I, again, should have informed you of the Rituals that we, Mages, are required to perform every month." She bowed slightly again at the end of her explanation. If he asks, then she must answer. She hoped dearly that he would not ask for the details of the Ritual, for if he did, she herself would be breaching the Mage's Circle herself for the Rituals were sacred to all of Rania and especially the Mage Circle. If he asked about it, then she'll have to show him and that was not going to be easy... |

His eyes slid shut for a moment, but nothing changed in his gaze when he opened them again. "If I am lenient, Tenarin would have fallen long ago. Mistakes have no place here. My decision stands. Go home before you cause more harm here." No one said a word as the king's voice reverberated across the hall, calm yet heavy. Edited by Seiss, Apr 17 2009, 05:55 AM.

Sayuri stood up straight, listening to his statement. She covered her bloodied gown's sleeve and hid it behind her back. "That will be the only mistake I'll ever make while I am here, your Majesty." Her voice was firm. Her eyes narrowed just a very small fraction. Her king trusted her and it was for she to try her best to talk to the king. But she found from his statement alone, that it was most likely final. "Sorry and excuse me for my outburst," she said with a bow. "But I wish for you to try and give us one more chance. A final one." Edited by DarkAngel013, Apr 17 2009, 05:54 AM.

Keira eyed the mage a little incredulously, but at the same time with a touch of boredom. She had heard pleas before the king too many times. This was just another one. Only the audacity of the mage's actions made it a little unusual. She knew that the king wouldn't change his decision. Once the Tenarin king had finished thinking through the possibilities, and decided on a path, he rarely ever allows anything or anyone to sway him. It was a losing fight on the mage's end. "No," the finallity in his tone was absolute. "I have no reason to give you a second chance. You are but a stranger who has broken an agreement." Then he approached her briskly with a smooth grace and reached out to pull up the mage's hidden arm. His eyes narrowed slightly at the darker stain and peeled the fabric aside. He was silent for a moment as he observed the wound with a slightly wrinkled nose. "This is another reason. I've been told that you are unwell, unfit to carry out your duties." He fixed hie fiery eyes on hers. "I am not giving you a choice. I will ensure that you leave my land." With that, he dropped her wrist and left the hall. Leaving the two Inscriptors and Keira with her. |

Sayuri flinched when he came close to her and lifted up her arm to reveal a bloodied arm. The irony that it would be revealed this way. She almost retorted something in the king's face, were it not for her common sense to not do it. She almost scoffed angrily when he mentioned the state of her well-being. The irony that they would mention that too. She bit back her tongue and watched him leave. With that, she bowed her head to the two men who were standing at where the king stood earlier and then to Keira, she turned on her heel and began to leave. She exited the room and headed towards her own. |
