![]() Location: La Mar City Outside the Tavern to Outskirts of the City Date: Sept. 2nd Time: Evening to Midnight He pulled himself to the side, as the Elves rested. Noctis cracked another small smile at her remark and said, "Like us, we have no problems accepting others, do we?" He paused to listen to her response and glanced at the sky, noting the light was completely gone now. He raised an eye-brow. "Stranger mixes? I suppose that's true, but Vampires and Werewolves are still at a stand-still with each other. After all, Vampires are with the Dark Elves while the Werewolves are with the Elves, surprisingly." A small pause before continuing, "Yes, Werewolves have been becoming more... 'accepting', if that's what you call it... but mixing of races seems a bit too extreme if you ask me." He continued to listen to her speak as they continued to move again, moving only slightly to catch her stumble as the realization hit her. With a soft, but slightly hard voice, "That was in the past, a whole lifetime ago... Knowing what Ryuu thinks is as if trying to decipher a code that keeps changing... and wasn't Ryuu the leader of the pack in his last life after you bit him...? Didn't he become a really beautiful and powerful werewolf?" He froze for a mere moment feeling the energy swirling through the air, and then continued on again. He again continued to listen to Solana speak and spoke after she finished for a moment, "Yes, it's not that hard to feel that, after all, that was the energy relating with Nemesis... so how could one ever forget that feeling?" Noctis turned to glance at Solana when he noticed that she had glanced back. He looked behind as well, noting that it was the elf that was with Faelin before. He turned back to the front, noting to himself of the conversation that Terrana and Faelin were having. Well, they were something of siblings in their last life, weren't they? Although, his real sibling in his past life was... Ryuu... he thought mildly, stopping to rest under a bunch of trees, along with Solana. Ryuu... his past life was horrible, if I remember correctly. He had only been bitten because he had been protecting his younger brother... The irony, Ryuu is younger in this life whilst Faelin is older... I wonder what their reactions will be like when they fully meet? He snapped out of his thoughts when Solana spoke up again. He nodded. "Sure, why not, after all, I think tomorrow, all we're going to do is just follow those two until Faelin's village." He doesn't need much sleep, having a Dark Elf inside him made him more likely to have less sleep than most. Elves and Werewolves both need sleep whilst Vampires and Dark Elves do not need that much, traveling in the day for both races has become something of a requirement so they had, overtime, lessened their main need of sleep, only taking power-sleeps whenever they "rest", taking only about a half hour to about two hours at max of sleep a day. Power-naps or sleep has been passed down through each generation of Vampires and Dark Elves and the skill for it has been mastered by them. He jumped up on the nearest tree's branch and up until his form was hidden completely by the leaves, however, still close enough to the ground. He pulled himself close to start getting ready for his daily dose of a sleep. "Good night, Solana," he murmured, his voice rumbling slightly, a comforting kind of rumble. Character: Alys Walter-Bavent (Water Elementalist) Location: Woods Southwest of La Mar City. Date: Yes. Time: Night Perhaps social etiquette had never proven to be her forte. Perhaps earlier that evening hadn't been the first time in recorded history were propriety for propriety's sake had failed her. Perhaps all these things were true--but the ability to move swiftly and silently through a forest was, quite simply, like remembering to exhale to most ulterior species. Negligence, of course, is a concept in and of itself. Whatever had compelled her to follow the two odd figures she had spotted earlier failed to compell her immediate interest in their conversation. As they had left the City, she had followed at a strict pace, though she had been unable not to remark on its sluggishness. And then the evening fell, and the sun with it. Her mild disinterest was transformed by distraction--there wasn't a moment that one couldn't see her checking over her shoulder at the final stains of setting-sun red in the sky. Finally, the sun fell. Taking far less care for her own concealment, her super-sensitive ears (combined with a hyper-active subconscious) caught bits and pieces of the two figures' conversations. And, slowly but surely, a vicious curiousity developed--and was soon crushed with the sudden understanding of the two's species. Her father might have drawn his blade and charged. Her mother might have turned tail and raised a rallying alarm. Any of her brothers might have walked right by with their heads held high in feigned ignorance. Perhaps her entire clan would have shown hatred towards the two. The sun of those times had set. The moon had risen, and Alys anew with it. Observing as the male excused himself, she made for the werewolf and immediately did the kindest elfen greeting applicable. She bowed her head--as she had no skirts to curtsy with and a female bowing may be considered disrespectful, breaking eye-contact to show no distrust in the process. With a timid little upturned grin--and thankfully no holdling of the breath--she was about to give her name when the not-so-distant voices of two fellow elves caught her. High Elf Faelin? Her words caught in her mouth before forming properly, her dark hair fell slightly out of place in front of her face. Why had the two followed the Elf Faelin and the other? |

Location: Procul Port to ??? Date: Sept. 1st to Sept 2nd Time: Night to Midnight to Early, Early Morning
Nemesis looked up from where it was staring into the mirror, up to the male that came "prancing" over to where they stood. "Ah, one of the others that have gone missing has arrived," Nemesis said with that same undistinguished voice. "You must have your daily dose of black magic, now right?" Raising its hand, it pointed a single sickly pale white finger at Inasnum and with a jolt of sudden black lightening, it shot down and struck him. "There is tonight's and today's dose of your daily 'energy,' as you would like to call it." It looked to its' other companions and said, "This is Inasnum, and he shall be your other companion tonight as we go off to go greet the Elemental Wizards." That same grin spread across its face before it morphed into a figure of a large, black wolf. "Come, let us go on a small little journey to greet our friends," it said, showing its deathly grin again as it took off towards where the energies of the Elemental Wizards were. "And yes, we must go give our condolences to our old time friends." Mainly, the four or five that were now traveling towards the village that Emry and Re'lar had destroyed in their moments when it had not been there. The mirror that was there was no longer there as soon as Nemesis' form had stepped outside of the port, leaving the port intact, surprisingly. Edited by DarkAngel013, Mar 18 2009, 08:47 PM.

Re'lar refrained from rolling his eyes in disgust; there didn't seem to be too many people around who had full reign of their wits. His mood, however, lightened considerably when Nemesis changed to a wolf and gave the command. Reaching out, he gripped Emry Conte's shoulder and let the darkness wrap around them both, starting from the feet and winding around until it covered Conte's near-maniacal grin and Re'lar's own content smile. It was the work of seconds to transport them both to a small camp somewhere in the woods -- Re'lar wasn't too interested in details; no, he, like Conte, was more interested in the people there. |

![]() Location: Woods West of La Mar City Day: Sept. 2nd Time: PreDawn Faelin felt an urgency pulling him from the netherworld of slumber, and his dreams let him go, consciousness returning. He was mindful of his arm still holding Terrana, her slender hand lay delicately across his chest. His gaze fell to her face tilted slightly upward where he could see the dainty trace of her cheeks still smudged with dried tears. He wanted to lay there and just look at her, but he also wanted her to open her eyes. He wanted to remember the warm glow he found in her hazel stare. He wanted to hear the melodious sound of her voice. Then again he wanted to just lay there, and watch her sleep, completely secure cradled in is arm, while the predawn light chased away the last of the darkness. The fast fading glow of several dew fairies fluttering in depth of the forest brought him momentarily to his senses. He felt the pressing need to warn his people. With tenderness he lifted her hand from where it lay close to his heart, lightly stroking its velvety smooth softness. How had she worked her way past his guard? Many of the women of his village had tried. She was not classically beautiful, but she had something the others did not. Terrana had a sweet sincerity, naivetey of spirit, that compelled him to protect her. She needed him. Her head was close enough for him to smell her hair. A gentle cedar scent with a touch of honeysuckle wafted up to him...but it was time to rise and be on their way. His breath eased out in a sigh. With luck they would make it to the river by noon, and his clan could be warned to seek refuge deep in the Crelum Forest. "Terrana...little flower, awake. We must be on our way err the day breaks." |

![]() Location: The Woods Southwest of La Mar City Date: Sept. 2nd Time: Before Dawn Whatever sleep she had received from this night, Terrana knew that this was the most sleep that she had ever. She remained laying next to the waking Faelin, her eyes still closed from the slumber. When his hand touched hers, she slightly stirred, her conscious slowly coming back to her. Her eyes tried to flicker open, but the journey that the two elves had made kept them shut. Then, just as she was about to enter her sleeping state again, she heard his voice in the dark. "Terrana...little flower, awake. We must be on our way err the day breaks." Her eyes started to flicker open, and looked up to him. Her lips began to inch upwards into a sleepy smile, and began to stretch her sleepy body. “I guess that you’ll need to get to your clan to deliver that warning to them, right?” Her thoughts returned to the moment before her sleep caught up to her. ”I… love you…” Her tiredness was slowly going away, as the trees round her noticed that she was here, and gave her enough of their essence for her to continue with the journey. Slowly, she got up onto her feet, and picked up her staff. “I mustn’t keep your people waiting on the warning, dear Faelin…” |

![]() Location: Woods West of La Mar City Day: Sept. 2nd Time: Noon “I mustn’t keep your people waiting on the warning, dear Faelin…” He found himself back to blushing with her endearment, never the less he stood, entranced by her eyes for a moment before grabbing up his bow. Reaching in his belt pouch he pulled forth two more of the small golden fruits and two small elven biscuits. "This should sustain us until we reach my clan. I am sure we will feast well tonight." He began walking as they ate, not wanting to loose valuable time. When they finished he began a faster pace, but was more mindful of Terrana's limitations today. Though the trek was long, it was mostly downhill, and a smooth path as well. He searched the rivers edge, soon uncovering the small canoe he had sheltered among the reeds. Smiling he helped her into the boat and pushing it out a way deftly leaped into it. Rocking slightly before he got seated and steadied it, he hoped she didn't fear getting wet. "You'll have plenty of time to rest now. The crossing will take at least an hour. Then there is another three hours to the village if we travel at the same pace we have been." Paddle in hand he began a steady rhythmic pattern propelling them along. Here and there lone fish darted away from the canoe, and Faelin decided to gift her with a treat. He gathered the sparkling glints of light and created an illusion of fish leaping merrily from the water in front of the boat. Each one creating a small rainbow of color as it splashed back into the water. "Terrana, do you mind telling me of your affinity for magic. I would hear the marvel of your story. Not many are blessed with sacred magic." |

(Kinda went on a little tangent with this one... tell me if I need to fix anything!) Location: Outskirts of La Mar City Date: Sept. 1nd – 2nd Time: Night - Morning Solana rolled her eyes, snorting in mock annoyance at Noctis poking fun at her statements. Ordinarily, she might have been grumpy with him, but today had been so difficult, she didn’t really want to complicate things any more than she needed to. She would just go with what he said, and leave it at that. A smile of relief spread across her face when he agreed to stop for the night; she had been afraid that, being half Dark Elf, he might not have felt ready to stop quite yet. Feeling ready to drop to the ground as she was, she forced herself to look for a better place to stay for the night than the middle of the road would be. Unlike Noctis, there was no way that she was going to sleep up in a tree. Not only was she too lazy to climb up it at the moment, she also was slightly unnerved by the possibility of taking a fall out of it if she wasn’t careful enough. After a short poke around in the surrounding woods, she found a nearby thicket of sword fern, decently softened by moss on the ground. Clearing it with her foot, she looked around quickly, and then drew a quick gust of wind over the area, pulling the fronds of the ferns up in a sort of den. She hoped that nobody had noticed her misuse of magic, no matter how insignificant it was. That was a subject that she would rather keep to herself, for now. She was just about to go to sleep for the night when the girl who had been following them caught up and greeted her with a slight nod. Surprised, Solana dropped a quick curtsy, glad that the girl, (Alys, she realized), seemed to be on good terms to start off with them. However, when she looked like she was about to speak, she suddenly paused, her attention apparently caught by Faelin and Terrana. Solana’s hopes sank as she realized how strange they must appear, following them around like they were. Thinking up an excuse would be difficult. Smiling in what she hoped was a friendly manner, Solana raced to find an explanation. “Hello, my name is Solana Heron,” she said, careful not to speak too quickly. “I’m traveling on business right now, as you can probably tell from my dress,” she continued, indicating her semi-formal traveling clothes. “Currently, my colleague and I are on a trip to this year’s summit for the agriculturalists of southern La Mar. I’m an ecologist myself, and have been studying wind erosion and it’s affects on the agricultural process for several years now. Soil quality could be greatly improved if people only changed their farming habits by a little bit,” she said, partially telling the truth. While she had been going to a summit yesterday, it appeared that there had been a change of plans… and Noctis was by no means her colleague, at least, not before. Hoping that her rather lame explanation had been good enough, Solana grinned, trying to make an exit. “While it’s a pleasure to meet you, I’m in for a rather early morning tomorrow, so I’d best go now. Goodbye!” As soon as she was presumably out of sight of Alys, Solana slumped against a tree, letting out a huge sigh. She hated making up excuses like that, even if they were for the most part truthful. Grumbling to herself something about always ending up the one to have to save people’s rears, she curled up in her nest of ferns and fell to sleep almost instantly. ------ The sun had barely begun to peak above the horizon when Solana woke up the next morning. Groaning in a rather undignified fashion, she slowly pulled herself out of her makeshift bed, suppressing a yawn. She hated mornings, especially after getting so little sleep. Sure that Noctis had already awoken, she poked around the area a bit, stopping for a while at a salmonberry bush to pull of several handfuls of berries. Once she had eaten her fill, she shook out her clothes and turned back to the trail, seeing that Faelin and Terrana had apparently just left a while ago. “Should we follow them, then?” she asked Noctis quietly, just in case Alys was listening in. It seemed like a good idea at the time... How are we to live in the present, look to the future and remember the past? If anybody has the number of the wise man on the mountain, could I please have it? I like black licorice and the color green. There's a reason for this madness. I fell off the Train of Thought. Burr shot Hamilton. Elka wants a red hat. I can't find any relation in the statements above. If you can, please tell me, so I can get rid of it. | |

The English Kitty Ninja
|
![]() Location: The Woods Southwest of La Mar City Date: Sept. 2nd Time: Before Dawn - Noon Terrana noticed Faelin blushed when she had said her last thing. Realizing what she had said, her skin began to flush slightly. However, once he was on his feet, both of them were ready to go. He handed her one of the fruits that she had last night, and an elven biscuit. Adoring the little oat bars, she saved it for later, and started to eat the golden fruit. Once she was done, she followed him, and was able to keep up with his strides, with the thanks to the forest. Her legs began to fatigue again, but they were removed from the wooden beings that she had known and loved. It was another thing for her to concentrate her affinity of Earth within a forest, since she had adored the silent giants when she was a child. They didn’t want to hurt her at all, unlike the elves in her society. After hours of traveling through the forest, both of them arrived at a river bank. Faelin had pulled out a hidden raft, and she got in. "You'll have plenty of time to rest now. The crossing will take at least an hour. Then there is another three hours to the village if we travel at the same pace we have been." As she sat down in the little canoe, she closed her eyes, and felt the gentle rays of the sun touch her face. She smiled at the feeling. However, her moment of peace came to a stop, as she heard something from the water. Although the splash of water came from a feeding fish, she turned, and saw several fish flying out of the water, and rainbows trailed behind them. Her eyes remained open at the illusion that Faelin had left her, and she smiled. "Terrana, do you mind telling me of your affinity for magic. I would hear the marvel of your story. Not many are blessed with sacred magic." Her focus on the illusion disappeared, and she turned towards him. Although the subject of her past was something that she didn’t want to talk about, she was confident enough for her to begin her story. “Alright. Although I was bullied by people in my village, it was also the time when I noticed something that I had. It was when I had stormed away from the place where I was taught, when I had learnt that I was magical. I heard voices from somewhere nearby, even though there was no one around. Thinking that it was my mind, I threw a nearby stone away, thinking I would scare the possible person away. After I had done that, I had thought about the smoothness of the stone, and decided that I shouldn’t have thrown it. Out of all coincidence, the very same stone levitated from the ground, and came back into my hand. Then, I heard the voices again, but they identified themselves as the trees that were around me. After that, they told me that I had powers of the Earth, and soothed me from my sad state.” She paused for a minute. “Faelin… Could I ask why you were in La Mar City? If you had originated from somewhere nearby, then you wouldn’t have been near that tavern.” |

"Yes, Faelin m'dear, why were you in La Mar City?" Emry mimicked, clapping his hands excitedly as he nodded his thanks to Re'lar; his physical body followed his voice through Re'lar's spell as it seemingly materialized, balanced precariously on the side of the canoe as he leaned forward, eyes on what appeared to be - "Your new lady friend, Faelin dear? What happened to the last girl? Or the one before her? Weren't you only together for what - a week or so? A pity, she was so besotted with your genteel kindness, wasn't she?" he asked in a genuinely curious tone - or at least one that sounded genuinely curious. Of course, he knew nothing of this Elemental Wizard of Light's history with the opposite sex, or even if he liked the opposite sex, but if he was anything like the last Elemental Wizard of Light, he was a stiffly honorable fool who was probably still a virgin waiting for the perfect elven woman to come along. "But let's forget your adventures-" Emry winked here, running fingers through bleach-white hair, a sly grin spreading across his face "- because my, it's been such a long time since we saw each other, hasn't it, my dearest friend?" Stopping abruptly, head tilted to the side, he voiced aloud his thoughts seemingly just as he thought them. "Now, I had something to tell Faelin... what was it... Something about an apology... hm... nevermind -can't remember." Shrugging, he turned his attention towards the elven woman with Faelin and inwardly gagged as he bowed graciously - elegantly - and introduced himself. "A good day to you, fair maiden - I am Anev ilb'stard - but you may call me Nev." Edited by Teslyn, Mar 21 2009, 07:37 PM.
