Society crumbles. The fact has been proven simple, plain, and true through many centuries of unrecorded observances; structure has proven itself irresponsible.
Elves--along with many another persons--have done their best to dillude themselves into believing themselves an exception.

A rule is, if anything, proven through its exceptions. Perhaps there is one to this, but the elven people are not it.
Therefore, it was of a certain tribe of vulgarized barbarians that came to the mind when the High Elf Faelin sourced general elfen propriety - and hence why a sudden change of heart emerged.

Elf Faelin had made his decision and charged to heroism while his companion had asessed the situation instead. 'Ex-companion,' as it seemed almost disrespectful to assume two elves might require assistance in handling a few hume thugs.

. . . [Shortly thereafter.]

An exasperated sigh escaped her, her back against the cold stone of the back of some building in an alleyway. Whatever had possessed her to reenter the hume establishment? What had compelled her to return to this stench?

In a compromise to avoid any fit of squeamishness, she held her breath. Perhaps the gravity of her predicament deserved to be reconsidered. Elf Faelin was surely a calm, respectable leader, was he not? And yet he had slipped and panicked at the sight of the human in the tavern.
What had he introduced himself as? Nev, but Nev what? Anev... Anev Eel? ... Anev Ilb'stard!
A flush of disbelieve rushed her and painted her face red. Anev Ilb'stard. Surely a worse show of flaunting had never been displayed!

Her feet carried her into the streets, avoiding large hume crowds, and, coincidentally, just behind two figures who, she now realized, smelled especially inhumane.
It was in no way just to her nostrils to follow these two, but compromises had to be made! And there was just something pulling her to follow them - cursing how she was so dreadfully downwind of the two. Holding her breath to suffer through and allowing her messenger bag to wear at her side, she entertained herself in a rather horrific way--guessing the relevance of the two figures.
The one was defiantly unclassifiable, but hadn't the female been in the bar? The air the brushed by her may as well have flown out of the City--surely, the humes would notice the distaste in that oxygen? Comprimising again, she fell in sync a number of paces behind the two. After all, she was involved with... an evil bastard.

"I see, Emry, you haven't lost your touch for trying to relieve yourself of your boredom," the voice that told neither of female or male was heard. Then a dark figure appeared with its hooded robe, the face still covered by its hood.

It then moved over to the mirror that suddenly appeared, still not having anything to support it up. It walked over to the mirror and pulled it so that it hovered between everyone that was here, laying it down on its back so that its reflective surface was pointing up towards the sky.

"I see that most of us are here..." it said before turning its attention on the mirror. "Well now, since most of them have not yet regained their memories..." It paused as it seemed to look at something through something in its mind before speaking again, "three of them have remembered, but we need all of them to remember at least something, otherwise, plans cannot be forth into motion... however." Suddenly, a wide and oddly menacingly-like grin appeared.

"It doesn't hurt to go battle them, now does it? Just for fun? And besides, I've been dying to see them again," Nemesis said with an oddly scary grin.

A positively delighted expression crossed Emry's countenance as he whirled around to meet his master, dropping to a knee in deference. His tone, however, was the furthest thing from respectful. "My Lord, it wasn't just because I was bored," he said petulantly in protest. "I mean, I can't even imagine why I'd be bored, what with having nothing to do for three-thousand years." Clearly, the whole three-thousand years thing was something Emry wasn't about to let go lightly.

"I've been dying to see them again," his master finished, the pure malice in his voice sending shivers of excitement and anticipation down his spine. It had been too long since he'd heard that voice, suggesting something so diabolically - entertaining. This was what Emry had missed for the past thousands of years. This was what he lived for- why he was so loyal. Nemesis frequently gave him free rein and a direction in which to go - and that was something Emry valued above anything else.

"Yes," he agreed. "I also have my condolences and apologies to give to the Elemental of Light."

The animated expression of glee on his face held not a scintilla of remorse.

"I don't have anything that I need to do, from what I can remember from this morning. Are your people as welcoming as you are?"

He chuckled a bit, "Probably more friendly. I am no great socialite."

"Only a few people back in my realm were kind to me. In general, most of them tend to just ignore me, while my family got the popularity that they should deserve. Even if I was the oldest of the Devena children, all of my brothers and sisters were more known than I was. It was this that had led me to being exiled by my own father."

Her words stunned him. First he was shocked that she would tell him something so personal. These were not things you told to someone you just met. Then the enormity of her loneliness hit him. For her to admit to such treatment, she must have a heavy burden on her heart. He could not imagine being without his clan, let alone being rejected by them. He was a fair judge of character and there seemed no deceit in Terrana. When she had fallen silent, he turned to assure her that she would be welcomed among his people. Saddened he reached for her chin as a brother might, then noticing the lone tear, wiped it away. He cupped her cheek, "Do not worry Terrana, there is enough generosity among my people you will not have need for tears. Come, I will keep the pace slower, but we need to get some distance between us and La Mar City before we rest for the night. I fear if I tarry my warning may be too late."

Never the less a chill passed through him that all was not well. He set off southwest of the city at a gentle pace. They covered a goodly distance before he called a halt to their travels. He could have gone much farther but sensed her tiredness. He settled down on a mossy hillock. "You may sleep where you wish, but we would be safer close together. You need not fear that I would harm you in any way." As he lay back waiting for sleep to come he had to know they answer. He had contemplated during their jaunt here, but didn't want to overtire her with talking. "Explain more to me please. I do not understand why your father would cast you out for being unpopular. The ways of your clan must be vastly different than my own."

I Role Play because the people in my head tell me to.

Terrana slightly smiled when Faelin had mentioned that the people of the West River Clan were friendly, and had brought a small sense of hope into her soul. However, something had held her joy back. What if they don't accept me? What if they don't like elves from other realms? Those two questions alone had brought a sense of worry into her heart. It was when she had finished speaking to him about her past that had caused her the most worry. He had a look of surprise on his face, and she could tell what it was. Even though elves had different traditions within their own regions, the tradition of not talking to strangers about your past was the most common out of all of them. However, she had felt that Faelin could be trusted with her past. He reached out a hand to her fair face, and wiped away the lonely tear that ran down her face. Her feeling of loneliness was slowly fading away with the warmth and comfort that his palms had. She slightly pressed her head against his hand, welcomed by he comfort.

"Do not worry Terrana, there is enough generosity among my people you will not have need for tears. Come, I will keep the pace slower, but we need to get some distance between us and La Mar City before we rest for the night. I fear if I tarry my warning may be too late."

She smiled, and nodded at his request to continue on. Although she was not the best runner of the elves in her realm, she would be able to travel long distances with a walk. Once Faelin had started to walk, she started to follow him. The journey was long, and the distance that he could cover easily was taking a toll on her body. The darkness that had crept up on the land was causing her to fatigue even more, as the trees began to sleep, hiding all of their energy within their core, making it unable for her to take a small amount to rejuvenate her legs. Faelin had stopped shortly after her fatigue was setting into her entire body. Walking to a mossy hillock, Terrana panted, and closed her eyes for one second. "You may sleep where you wish, but we would be safer close together. You need not fear that I would harm you in any way."

For the first time in her life, she had a sense of security, and relaxed near him. She wanted to curl up next to him, and have an inner peace, but the thought of rejection had pulled that idea apart. "Thank you, Faelin. I have not had this kindness at all since I was born. These few hours alone have been the best hours of my life." Once she was finished, she relaxed her entire body, and her head glided down onto the soft moss. Her eyes began to droop, and closed shut. One minute had passed, and Faelin had asked her something. Even though she had closed her eyes for one minute, her body felt fresher than it had been when she had a bit of the fruit. Her eyes slowly opened, and listened to him.

"Explain more to me please. I do not understand why your father would cast you out for being unpopular. The ways of your clan must be vastly different than my own."

Even the thought of the subject had wanted her to keep quiet. Terrana decided to turn her thoughts away from the silence that she would go into, since Faelin was the closest person to her than her mother. After a few intense moments, she finally plucked up the courage. "Ok... I have mentioned that I was being ignored by all of the people that was in my realm. What I didn't mention was what happened to me during my years of being a child. During the time when I was educated, all of the students and teachers had picked on me, just because I was quiet and rather content with my life. However, during the bullying, some of the students had noticed that I was... different from the other elves. That I was rather adept at performing very weak magic of the Earth affinity. Once the word came about, the bullying went from bad to worse. Most of the time, I had ran away from where I was taught, since some of the teachers had become violent towards me, and nearly beat me to death. And from all of this, my parents did nothing to stop this, despite being a high ranking family. All they thought about was my siblings, and generally ignored me when they discovered my magical capabilities. At one point, when I was in my early year, to which the humans called the early teens, I had confronted my father about the problems that I was facing. Instead of understanding me, he... he... slapped me across the face." Before she could finish her story, tears began to flow out of her eyes, and began to sob. Without any thought at all, she placed her forehead against his right shoulder, and remained silent.

Earlier that day:

Inasnum walked down the road, bouncing happily along. He smiled and sang an odd song, "Humpy Dumpy. Monkey donkey. Whatever where, a tear. O my!"

The peasants stared at him oddly, but he didn't notice. He then frowned and said, "Scary. Fear is back. More again. Nemesis."

He looked in the direction of Procul Port and laughed. He tilted his head sideways before falling to the ground in a fit of laughter.

A highway man approached him in his insane state and said, "Give me your gold or pay the price!"

Inasnum laughed happily and said, "Oh good! A pretty toy! Fun game for me!" He cackled happily and smiled.

The highway man drew his blade and said, "Give me your gold you crazy bastard."

Inasnum frowned, that word hurt his feelings. He sniffed and said, "Now now. Hurt me you have. Payment in full." With that he raised up his left arm and in his hand glowed a ball of pure white magical energy. He smiled at the highway man before slamming the ball into the man's face.

Blood and gore splattered across the road and the highway man's body slumped onto the ground. Inasnum smiled once more and said, "Whoops. Funny man. Toy is broken."

He began to walk towards Procul Port to see Nemesis. The man was power and he yearned for more. He was drawn to it like a hungry dog to a steak.

Inasnum entered the port at midnight, seeing almost no one around. He could feel it though. The dark presence of power. It drew him in. His mouth began to water, drool dripping from his mouth. So much energy. What it would be like to draw from it...

His tongue flopped from his mouth, hanging out much like a dog's would as he honed in towards the source. He saw a group of people standing near a building and sensed power emanating from them. He drew his tongue in and smiled. He shouted towards them in a jolly fashion, "Goody gums! Find the source." He then frowned as if suddenly angry, "Hunger."

He looked expectantly at the man with the hood over his face for a response.

There was something about Noctis’ voice that made it seem reassuring to Solana, his demeanor appearing to soften by just a faction. She sighed, slowing down a little again as she saw the pair of elves pulling over to the side of the trail. “That’s true,” she said, smiling slightly. “There are some of us who are less willing to accept others… Not that we don’t get enough people telling us how terrible we are anyways. It seems like half the world feels the need to tell me that I smell bad!”

She snorted, noting that the light was nearly gone. Her night vision was decent enough that it was not too great a problem, though. “Amazing is relative. I’ve heard of stranger mixes than yourself, though admittedly, not too many. Werewolves in general have been trying to be a little more accepting after this disaster with the vampires. We don’t really want that sort of thing to happen again. And in times like these… We can’t afford to be squabbling over minor differences anymore.”

His last question took her a little off guard. “Ryuu?” she asked, her eyebrows knitting together. “I… didn’t think too much about him, too tell the truth. He… wasn’t what he is now (a vampire-elf, that is), and wasn’t called Ryuu. That makes no sense, how can he be him and not be? Ugh.”

Thinking with parts of her mind that she had never even truly had before, she sifted through the multitudinous memories of the former Ryuu. She had been a werewolf still, and he had been human… for a time. A terrible realization swept over her, and she stumbled a bit, stricken with a sort of shocked horror.

“Spirits…” she muttered angrily, cursing her former self. “Noctis, I… oh, curse it, I bit him. And what’s worse…” she trailed off, not completing what she had realized. Not only had she been the one to turn him into the same sort of creature that she was, but also she had done it out of some twisted short of love. He was her mate back then, a thought that vaguely repulsed her.

Solana looked up suddenly, shock evident on her face. She had just noticed a change in the wind, and not a natural one. “Did you feel that?” she asked Noctis, surprised. “That’s not normal. Someone’s done something with the wind, but I can’t tell what. They’re controlling it, but not like I do, differently. This isn’t good, not good at all,” she said, trying to discern what it was, but largely unable to.

Looking behind, she noticed that the girl that she had noticed earlier with Faelin was walking in pace after them. “Lovely, we’re being followed,” she said wryly, stopping and leaning up against a rather large maple tree. “Well, it is getting rather dark. Maybe we’d best follow the others’ example and turn in for the night?”
It seemed like a good idea at the time...

"Thank you, Faelin. I have not had this kindness at all since I was born. These few hours alone have been the best hours of my life." Trudging through the forest in the middle of the night with a stranger had been the best hours of her life? Something about her was so tender and lost, he felt compelled to protect her. Like some rare flower on a busy thoroughfare in danger of being trampled underfoot he wanted to shield her from harm.

When he asked her about her family and clan she had gotten very quiet. He had begun to think perhaps she would not share her story. Then softly her voice whispered against the silence of the deepest night. For a moment Faelin had a hard time believing her words. Why would her people persecute her for being blessed with one of the ancient talents of magic? While she should have been placed above them all she was ridiculed and assaulted by her own father? Her head fell against his shoulder, and he could feel the sobs wracking her frame. Something within him broke, "Shhhh, it is alright now." He eased his arm around to comfort her. "Rest now. There will be no one to harm you again 'little flower'." The length of the day finally caught up with him and he found himself nodding off to sleep, his arm still wrapped around her shoulder. Her head resting against him as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

I Role Play because the people in my head tell me to.

Whether it was relief that she had finally told someone about her loneliness or not, Terrana felt a massive weight of her massive burden being taken away from her. And the relief was too much for her to bear. She continued to weep on Faelin's shoulder, knowing that he was the closest person that she could confide in. She even put him in front of her parents. "Shhhh, it is alright now." She managed to look up towards his face, her face completely streaked with her tears. She watched him pull an arm around her shoulder, and she relaxed again. Again, she felt a sense of security within her, but this feeling had stayed with her for a much longer period of time. "Rest now. There will be no one to harm you again 'little flower'."

Terrana raised her eyebrow up, wondering why Faelin had said 'little flower' to her. Before she could ask him the question, his eyes closed, and he drifted off into slumber. Her sobs grew weaker and weaker, until it had disappeared into another memory. Instead of sadness, another feeling started to grow. She recognised the feeling, however, how she knew what it was had eluded her. She smiled, and placed her head back onto his shoulder. And closed her eyes. Before she too drifted off to sleep, she managed to mutter something to the sleeping elf. "I don't know where you came from, but you came into my life at the right time..." She placed an arm around his waist, and started to drift off into slumber. "I... love you..." That was the only word that she had whispered, before she drifted off to her first dream.
