Roland came out of the room with a grim look upon his face. It seemed that the others had something against his choice. He couldn't bring himself to understand, why would someone choose being bound and silenced over anything else he didn't know. He himself would rather simply be bound his eyes open to the light then be forced into such imprisonment as the silent room would be.
However as he cleared the room he saw the girl, the one who had sided with him, against what was obviously her best wishes. She was on the floor, the dull thump of her heading hitting the ground sent a spike of anger through his relatively calm outer exterior. He allowed it to fade away for a moment, back into calm, and then he moved to her side. It seemed to be a panic attack, and the other seemed to have it in control. He had no better way to deal with such things than what he was already doing.

Roland stood and spun on the guards, the look of calm on his face still present, despite the rage boiling up inside him. The entire establishment was filled with fools and idiots, he was barely resisting the urge to plant his fist into the face of the nearest. However he knew he could do nothing so he simply stood there looking the man in the eyes. Trying to get himself under control.
"What have you done to this girl, what has this establishment done to her? She's been forced into extreme punishment and she's having a panic attack. Because she walked into a class a few minutes late, being punished for the first time if I'm not mistaken." His voice was rising and falling as if he was moments away from breaking out into a fit of rage, his calm exterior added only to the look in his eyes. He hated these men with a passion, somehow they were the ones he could focus on. He hated the entire idea of the school system with a passion. They did this to people it was disgusting.

Willow came to with a start, an obnoxious smell permeating the air. When her eyes opened she quickly shut them again. Both Alden and Roland were angry, with her? She struggled to get up, but her head throbbed fiercely. She winced at the pain, reaching out she grabbed on to the nearest arm, and pulled herself to her feet. "I'm sorry Alden, I guess I panicked. Let's just get this over with. Roland, it's okay. I'll be fine." She had spoken the words to ease their minds, but all she really wanted was to get a nap.

Alden pulled back, incredulous, "We aren't mad at you, Wil. You fainted. That's not your fault," he stood and got between Willow and the guards, taking a place at Roland's side, "it's theirs. Them and their stupid rules... not checking the teachers' decisions. They're dictators... and we've been taught that's wrong, right? Well, I'm not going to the Lock Down until she's taken care of. So-"

One of the guards put a hand up, "The girl had a panic attack, son. We'd be sent back to Admissions for a new job if we didn't take her to the nurse. You two boys will just have to come with us. I'm sure she'd like to hear about the cause of this punishment... from someone who is sound right now."

Roland stood his glare still trained on the man, his rage only barely dimmed by the droplets of water these men had flicked on it. Standing there he glanced at the girl and then towards the men, and then back to Alden. He didn't trust them, they were men of the school even if they seemed to be more realistic than others. He turned once again to the girl, recently awoken by the smelling salts. His voice was kind despite the fact that he was completely furious. The one day he decided to show up fro his classes and he wanted to kill the entire faculty.
" Can you walk on your own? Are you going to be alright?"

Asking those question he rounded once again on the guards. He was silent, but his eyes spoke for him. He simply looked at them waiting for them to make a move. To lead the way to either the nurses office or the lockdown room, if they lead to the lockdown room he would fight like a cornered wolverine. With that look on his face he simply waited, waited and seethed in his anger. He allowed himself to be angry, it was a comfort to the fact that his attitude had probably caused much of this, that they had been near him when he entered was cause enough in the teacher's eyes.

All Willow wanted was to go lay down, but it seemed that was going to have to wait. "Thanks, Alden, Roland, I think I'm okay, just a bit tired." She linked her arms through each of theirs. "If you could just get me to the nurse's office, maybe we can get this cleared up. Such a lot of fuss over a few dropped books. I'm sorry Alden, I should have been watching where I was going instead of day dreaming about my stories again. Then we wouldn't be in this mess. Roland, I guess you've got a bad first impression, I hope you won't hold it against me. I don't seem to have many friends. In fact, actually, I don't have any."

Why was she going on like this? Blabbering away like a fool. She was beginning to feel nauseous as the headache increased. "Come on, I need to lay down. And thanks, I don't think anyone has ever defended me before." They'd probably forget all about her tomorrow though. She sighed wistfully, everyone did.

Alden frowned at Willow in worry, muttering something about a concussion as they headed for the nurses' offices.
The guards took them in to one Alvira Trent's observation room and left them there, closing the door behind them. Alvira looked up at them over librarian's glasses and motioned for Willow to come to them, "My my, this is an odd group. Why do you grace my office today?"
"Mercer's evil incarnate," Alden muttered under his breath.

Roland stepped into the room behind the others. He had intentionally lagged so as to be behind the guards should trouble come in whatever form. He was a naturally wary person, and he could not bring himself to trust the guards or any of the other faculty. For some reason the thought of people such as them automatically set his blood boiling. Before today it had all just been a game for him, but today it was more than that. It was something else entirely, it was life, a life he needed to be present for to participate in.

As the nurse asked a question he looked towards her raising one eyebrow. He'd never been in the nurses office, not even on the rare occasions when he had actually attended a class or two. It seemed perhaps that she did not recognize the infamous Roland, the boy who skipped. Of course many wouldn't, since technically he wasn't spoken about, and he wasn't famous or infamous. Those who did hear of him either hated him or wished they were him.
" It seems that my presences has brought ill for all involved. Showing up late with me nearby seems to have gotten the others in the same boat as I. Serious punishment seems to be in order for their near to first time offenses. Needless to say the reactions were not at all pleasant." His tone said that he did not think such lengths were necessary, and that he was unhappy to say the least.

Willow was about to keel over, but made her way to the nurse. If there was a way to get them off the hook, she would do her best. There was no reason for them to pay for such a silly infraction. "They're just angry at the situation. It was all my fault. I wasn't paying attention to where I was, and bumped into Alden. When my books scattered down the steps, they offered to pick them up for me. It caused them to be late for class, now everything is just out of control."

She swallowed firmly to keep from throwing up in front of the guys. It would be utterly humiliating. Then rapidly, she tried to finish, "as we were going into lockdown, I think I panicked, and passed out." Reaching up she touched the side of her head, only now seeing the blood. "Please, I need to lay down. I'm feeling sick."

The nurse smiled warmly, "There is a bed in there; feel free to lay on it as long as you need. Boys, please pull those chairs closer so we can talk in comfort. Now, you say the three of you were sent to Lock Down for a minor infraction?"

Alden nodded vigorously, "I think it's Willow's first time to get in trouble about anything. I've only been late twice... and those can hardly count 'cause I was in the room- just not to a desk yet when the bells rang. All Mercer's ever given me were a slap on the wrist and some extra homework. There was that time I fell asleep too... but, it was the first day after holiday... and she just sent me to Solitary for half an hour."

"Ah, so then Mercer must have had something against you-" she turned to Roland, "we don't have a recent picture of you, of course, but I believe you to be Roland? First time you've even shown up to class in a long time, isn't it? Mm... Mercer tends to take vengeance upon such 'crimes' as she calls them, into her own hands. I'll send a ring to the Principal. He'll sort things out for you. In the meantime, you can have a rest in there by your friend or eat some of the food I have in here- just peanut butter and whole wheat crackers but they do fine."

With the nurses words Roland simply stepped closer to the area she had designated. Leaning against the wall and trying to look nonchalant. He was very much the cause of what had happened here, both of these two had been punished because of him, and even his punishment hadn't been what he would have called fair.
" I doubt that naming me a friend is high on anyone's list today. As you've said I haven't showed up for school in a long time. I obviously have no friends within the school, or within the staff for that matter."

Closing his eyes he flashed figures and facts in his mind. Recalling information he may use, and much that would never be useful. He retained everything he read, everything he heard. He could instantly expand on information just by exposure to it. However that cold bitch Mercer had told him that he still might not get into that school. The idea of going to trade school with the rest of the world nauseated him. He was better then them and he knew it, why should he have to be reduced to that level because he could obtain more information not attending classes then he could attending them.
