"There they are, now we just need a pla... p-plan..." The lich had turned around and was now staring at Arech, as if seeing it for the first time.
"What in blazes is that?"
He asked, as if truly not recognizing it. It still had the same scales. He should see. He should know. He should recognize. He should knew she was changing. It was overly scaled now, her fingers were longer and the nails, along with the full last bit of her fingers had started to form into powerful claws. Finally. Good. She was armed. Not much, but armed. Nevertheless.
"I" It replied simply, at his question. Its voice was a little hoarse and also a little deeper in comparison to what it was before. That didn't matter. It still had its voice. As long as it had voice it was good.
"Arech?" He muttered, being visibly confused. No reason to be confused. He saw her changing. Its appearance shouldn't distract him. It looked like it looked. It was the shifter. It changed.

The next thing that caught the attention of its golden eyes was the staff which now had leaves, and little branches. The staff was too, changing. Changes had power. Changes could be magic. On it they were not. On it they just were. Natural. Part of her. Like all humans had bones, even those who had no magic. Were normal. And not undead. The golden eyes stared into the distances again. It was looking in the direction the group was, but it didn't saw them. It saw through. It saw through the things that didn't matter. That didn't count. That didn't touch it. It was Arechiarnaw. It had its own destiny. Destination. Purpose. It chose.

"What the... no way! Oh, no! You've got to be kidding me!"
It wasn't. It had barely said anything. It spoke in words. It thought in words. Short. Single. Always. The same way it thought, it spoke. It hadn't done it much.
The lich let go of the small tree. No longer staff. Tree. Leaves. Roots. Branches. Tree. That was tree.

"What did I do to deserve this? Did I offend some cruel god at some early point of my existence? First my family, then I'm driven away from civilization to live amongst werepyres of all things, and finally, when things seem to be turning around for me, I meet a skitzophrenic maniac and some blank-minded shapeshifter?"
Blank-minded? "No." it spoke loud, not clarifying which part of his little speech it disagreed with. It wasn't. It thought. No blank mind. Just different. From humans.
"COME ON! I DON'T DESERVE THIS!" He finally cried. Shouted. Not at them. At the sky. There was nothing in the sky. Empty. Bare. Blue. Perhaps the human was right. Perhaps she was more sane than he. She didn't talk to sky. At least. At first it had thought her strange. Different. Form other humans. From Jeyne's kind. Her kind. She was a human.
Arech didn't talk to things. Arech changed. Freely. Spontaneously. By itself. Its body did.

Its body had finished off the long, curved, deep black and shining claws on its fingers- and also on what had been its toes short time ago. Now the body was occupying itself with growing Arechiarnaw a tail and gaining it a little more height.
A thought can create a world, but only a word written down can ensure its existence.

-When I am physically capable of doing something it doesn't mean I can do it. When I can, it doesn't mean that I should. When I should, it doesn't mean that I must. When I must, it doesn't mean that I will.
-I might not always know where I currently am, but I am never lost. I know in which direction my destination lies.
-There is no faith in knowing. I prefer to know, as only in this way can I be certain in my decisions.
-The more people you ask a question the higher the chance that at least one of them is right.
-Make me walk on walls, don't force me to dance according to others' will.
-I agree that life can be depressing at times. I just choose to ignore it.
-I don't figure over possibilities. I want, I can, I do.

Jey watched GeraldRiver-whowantedtheworld curiously; he seemed upset so so so upset if the yelling and unhappy upset words were any indication he did not seem to like Arech, no no - but Jey had to remember that GeraldRiver-whowantedtheworld was quite insane. So insane that she had to remember that he was of course not going to be happy because insane people rarely liked the company of sane people, especially sane people who were so interestingy and neverneverboring never-BoringArech.

"WE ARE YELLING," Jey yelled. "WHY - ARE WE- IS IT BECAUSE never-BoringArech TELLS FUNNYOHFUNNY JOKES?" She took a deep breath before happily continuing, "I THINK YOU DESERVEIT. DESERVE GOOD FUNNY JOKES FROM never-BoringArech. YES. DESERRVEE. DESERT? AND AND -- and, you have been in the in the room has a black hole in the loan is that has to do in in this data and YELLING."

"You think I would believe your lies? Everything about you speaks of vengeance and evil. Did you ever have a thought that that wasn't about yourself? You don't deserve his love and never did. You used him because it flattered you to do so, you never loved him. Sooner or later he would have seen it. Alexandria you are a woman who will never know what it is to truly love another. I pity you, but it will not stop me from killing you."

The Galactean's words had stung Alexandria, though she shook it off. She smiled, since she knew the key event from Mercinus' past that Sindra didn't know. "Are you sure that I am lying? It seems that Mercinus was shocked from something that had happened to him when it involved me. You have seen his reaction that he had when he saw me. As for you killing me... She started to chuckle out loud. "I think that it's the other way around." She laughed like a maniac, as the blade homed in on Sindra's neck, and hoped to deprive the mercenary of the one thing that he had to live for in this world.

Her hand jerked as her rapier was shattered from the new magic that had enveloped the Galactean. Sindra had smiled at her, as if she had won this duel. "Come now, surely you didn't expect it to be that easy? You should have gotten to know your enemy before making your move." Alexandria's eyes widened from the new threat that was looming over her, and instantly went into defensive mode. She parried Mercinus' lover's blows, trying to regain the foothold that she once had before this fight. He failed to parry the last blow, and the icy edge nicked her side, freezing any blood that was about to leave the wound. The scientist had whipped her body around at lightning speed, pointing the claymore's tip away from her unprotected body. In doing so, she took out a dagger, and aimed the black blade at the Galactean's side.
-----------------------
"Just that it will be a pleasure to remove such an abomination as yourself from the face of the world."

MZ coldly laughed at Brodin's reply. "Do you believe that you are able to make me fall in defeat in this battle? As a clone, I have all of Mercinus' strengths, and none of his weaknesses. That mean that nothing you can say can intimidate me at all. I only have one purpose, and that is to kill Mercinus Greyback, and to live free from the bonds that chain me to the walls of the infernal being that controls the Land of the Shadows. He raised the hefty axe blade to shoulder height, the weight of the massive weapon making him grunt slightly. "Try as you might, you will die before my blade. He stepped forward, and was taken back with the next thing that the Galactean had said.

"I wonder MZ? Do you think you have a soul? What will happen when you die?"

Before he could respond, Brodin was on the offensive, forcing the clone to defend himself, unless the Galactean wanted to kill his only means to be truly free. He parried the first three blows with easy, and was ready to bring the axe down on the Galactean's head. However, the clone groans as the fourth attack from Brodin cut through his entire armour, leaving a shallow cut across his midsection. Although he was about to reveal that he was connected to Mercinus through a link, he snarled, seeing that Hunter had ruined it. Instead, he brought the handle up to the warrior's nose, hoping to distract him long enough for him to regain his strength to attack.
-----------------------
Mercinus was having the upper advantage, seeing that he was outfighting Hunter in every single way. Although both of them were panting hard, with several soldiers that came into their fight being mown down by the two warriors. Hunter was already hurting from several wounds, ranging from a broken nose to a cut on his left leg. Mercinus was also injured, though the wounds did not concern him, since they were only a few bruises and scratches. Once again, both blade crossed, but this time though, Hunter was ready for this duel. He brought both blades round, and slashed across the mercenary's midsection. Although he was surprised, and was hurt from the attack, Mercinus had a feeling that the attack that had occurred was prevented from a mysterious force, since the cut had formed before the ex-mercenary's blade made contact with his own flesh. Using the pose that Hunter was in to his advantage, he brought the hilt of Silver Moon across his head, dazing Hunter for a few minutes.
-----------------------
Menza was having a blast during this fight. With him in his immortal state, he was bringing the blade across many soldiers, with them attacking him to no effect. The prophet was about to cut a man in half when he felt two things. One was a presence that was looming over both Mercinus and his clone, though he couldn't pinpoint what it was. Even though he was able to predict the future with absolute accuracy, he couldn't tell what this mysterious force was, nor could he try and remove it from Mercinus' form. As he cut through the man, who had slashed him across his stomach, he concentrated on another presence that was looming over the battlefield. Once he located it, he turned into his silver cloud form, and moved over to where it was.

"I THINK YOU DESERVEIT. DESERVE GOOD FUNNY JOKES FROM never-BoringArech. YES. DESERRVEE. DESERT? AND AND -- and, you have been in the in the room has a black hole in the loan is that has to do in in this data and YELLING."

Those were the first words that he had heard when he appeared above the trio that was nearby. He looked at the group, with the speaker being a woman of her late teens. There was also another being that was unknown to him. It was in a form of a lizard man, though he knew that the lizard men were long extinct from Gelbaron. Once he had finished examining the humanoid lizard, he focused on the final person, and chuckled. "Well, well, well... If it isn't another immortal, Gerald River. He jumped down from the tree, and landed in front of the group. "I had foreseen you following the group, but I had never expect that you were going to have allies with you."

When Mercinus' former love taunted Sindra, it fell on deaf ears. "Any memory you have of the events are tainted. I imagine his reaction was due to the fact that he did have some small regard left for you in his heart." Her sword swung in mighty arcs, descending and clashing against the woman's blades. Sindra could easily have advanced and killed her. Still she wanted only to wear her down. "But, I promise this...if you harm me... even the gates of hell will not keep him from avenging me. You spurned him Alexandria." Again she slashed, driving the woman back with each forward strike. "You trifled with the pure love he had to offer. You were unworthy then, and you are unworthy now." Sindra swirled around with the claymore in a last attempt to shatter the sword in Alexandria's hand. She did not see the black blade. The icy blue shield surrounding her form protected her from a stab wound, but the blade still managed to make a shallow cut in her skin. At the same time Sindra's sword shattered Alexandria's weapon.

MZ seemed taken aback about the remark about his soul. A smile spread across Brodin's face and he redoubled his effort to wound the man. His sword met the mark and sliced through the tender skin of MZ's abdomen. The man lost no time in attempting to distract Brodin, but he was quick to stab his blade into MZ's shoulder. Surprisingly a double shout went up as he yanked the blade out. He swung it around full circle aiming for MZ's exposed neck when he heard Sindra cry out. "NOOoo, Brodin Stop!"

The black and silver man ghosted over to start the attack, a form slammed into Mercinus and Alyre loosed her first shot. It took a man through the neck, and she was fitting another arrow to the string before the man had gurgled his death cry. She wanted to help Sindra, Mercinus, Brodin, or anyone but they were all engaged in close combat with their enemies, looking focused and determined. Rather than risk hitting her allies, Alyre shot down two more foes and focused her attentions on keeping anyone else from attacking her friends. She took out a man with a crossbow who was aiming at Brodin's broad back, making his weapon fall to the ground and fire a shot off into the woods. She had no arch rival to fight here, but she would keep the numbers weighing in their favor.

Groping behind her, Alyre closed her hand around a single shaft: she was down to her last arrow. She cursed her lack of forethought, as she had not anticipated such a large battle as this. Normally she used only a few arrows at a time, to hunt prey or fight a single foe. Aiming her last shot, she made it count, plunging it into the back of a shady-looking character who was trying to flee through the forest. Probably a scout of some sort, but his message would never reach its destination. Slinging her bow over her back, the slender elf grasped her twin swords and pulled them free, holding them level as she glided silently through the trees in search of a target. She wasn't about to waste her good position, and her first attack would make the most of her elevated spot.

Locking her keen eyes onto a target, the lithe woman dropped like a stone, locking her legs around a man's neck and twisting savagely until she heard his neck snap. Springing back onto the ground behind him, she stalked forward towards the thickest of the fighting, her blades flashing and whirling in a deadly dance of lethal prowess.

Saninan had a hard time not showing any emotions when Menza whispered the truth in his ear. His facial expression or stance hadn't changed, but his yellow eyes turned rather hollow somehow as he watched the immortal. Actually, what on earth was he? Saninan didn't make any mistakes... yet. How did he know? That was impossible! It made no sense at all - the Delituro didn't know how to admit defeat.
"Oh, I get extra time? And I'm allowed to tell Mercinus the truth myself? I feel so very honored..." he chuckled. At the same time, he was disappointed. Playing around with the mercenary group was fun, and he actually liked acting as 'this' Saninan in front of them. Returning to his normal self would be... boring. I was sent to spy on them and not to kill them... And I have the information which I need. I only need to escape after telling who I am. If Menza won't chase after me, I'm going to be fine.

The young man with yellow eyes quietly followed the group. He liked being in the forest, it resembled his old home indeed. The fact that he encountered new species amazed him though. He always thought that he knew all of the lifeforms which inhabited the rainforest. (He made another mistake in the past.) Soon, the 'enemy' appeared, and he watched how Mercinus and the scientist - Alexandria, who Saninan obviously already had met - were talking. He was kind of enjoying the drama, oh yes, the Delituro just loved observing others' emotions and state of mind. So that's MZ? Great job. But I wonder if his skills are equal to those of the real Mercinus?

The Delituro refused to stand and stare (and partially hold back) like the previous time - and make himself even more suspicious; so he started slashing the men - who were his comrades but didn't know that - with his twin daggers with ease - they weren't worth using the fantastic Kaljo-Rejjio. He didn't feel like cleaning the shimmering metal for hours afterwards - and there was a chance that he'd have to use it after the fight was over. He was planning to tell Mercinus after he and his group were all worn out because that increased his chances of survival. No sane person would let a spy escape... But this spy was very determined and hard to take down. So he continued stabbing the men with a small malicious grin on his face. Lord Sacremento wouldn't mind this loss, would he?

Slowly raising his head, feeling an incredible rage surging through his mind at the words from Jey as she seemed to not only be insane, but have the intelligence-span of a dry rock - quite the opposite of himself, whom he considered to be an utter genious and with measures of sanity at his disposal that by far exceeded those of the common man. Who but someone with complete sanity could watch mutilated corpses rise from the ground by one's own will and not even feel the slightest disgust or remorse? Who could kill in cold blood, yet not feel the slightest guilt? Who could have done all that he had done, turned to evil in his search for a way to discover the means of commiting the ultimate good? Yet, this person, this Jey/Meryc understood nothing. Gerald hated her, he wanted her dead... but he needed her. And, if he did anything, she would probably be the victor, and his crown would lay by itself and be forgotten by the sands of time as he would be eternally trapped inside it...

His train of angry thoughts were broken, however, when he suddenly felt the presence of an incredible surge of mana, one that far exceeded his own, very much nearby, and when he looked, he was met by the sight of yet another character just near him, this one clearly a powerful mage of sorts, and even more troubling, one that knew who he was. Standing up and grabbing his staff, which, as he touched it, instantly lost its roots, branches and leaves and turned into a regular staff again, the malachite embedded on its tip glowling dimly.
"You have me at disadvantage, seer," Gerald said, holding up the staff as if to shield himself, although he had a distinct feeling that if the creature could get this close before Gerald noticed, the staff would not be of much help, "You know my name, but I do not know yours." His glowing eye ball-replicas flickered, shooting a look towards the group he had been following, which now seemed to indeed have entered combat with the other group he had seen. Perfect... more corpses for me. "Are you with those people?" he asked, nodding towards the little battleground, "Or do you have another purpose?"

Jey turned to face the newcomer, Galangdei trailing trailing in the dirt in the dirt behind her but ready, oh very ready to paint, so she turned to face the newcomer, a confused look on her face. A confused look that probably looked like (her father painting Galangdei, asking-but-not-asking why, Jey?) that confusion though less sad and shocked more just confused and oh yes confused before she -

This man was strange. Stranger than mostly strange - "Hum-an-noid liz-ard meh-en," Jey repeated, tilting her head in incomprehension before smiling and commenting instead on his spoken-really-spoken words. "Allies. Allies. All-lies. All. Lies. - Allies," she repeated the word, breaking it down into 'all' and 'lies' before putting it back together giggling to herself at the irony. All - lies --

"The ends do not justify the means," Jey repeated Meryc. "The ends do not justify the means, GeraldRiver-whowantstheworld. CrazyMeryc says so. The en-ds do not - That proves you're insane because I'd be insane too if I tried to bring back the dead - dead are dead so very dead and 'less they are GeraldRivers-whowanttheworld they are not coming back -- they die after I paint them which is so terribly sad but at the same time they mostly only die after I paint them, and well I'm going to die too one day so one day I can sympathize with death but not now because I am not dead - "

The black blade that was in Alexandria's hand had disintegrated, turning into black dust. Although she wanted a wound more severe than what it is, the knife still did what it was made to do. The small pile of black dust had vanished, and slipped into the wound that the ex-knife had made. During all of this, her second rapier had shattered, but just in time that Brodin had begun his stabbing motion towards MZ. She smiled, as Sindra began to walk towards her. "Although you have left me defenseless, Galactean, your love is about to feel a massive amount of pain very shortly." She watched on as the Galactean's brother stabbed into the clone's shoulder. A smirk ran across her face, and watched MZ's plan unfold.
--------------------------
MZ was a bit surprised when his attempts to distract Brodin had failed, and was on the offensive again. Again, with a smile across his face, he watched the warrior lunge his weapon towards his shoulder. "Although your plan to disable my arm is going to be successful, I'm afraid that Mercinus is going to be unable to attack Hunter. For you see... We are linked, as if we're one being. That means that whenever one person is injured, the other one is going to feel the exact thing, including the appearance of the wound. Which means that you can't kill me without killing your 'hero', and leave your sister to grieve for his death." Then, he felt the sword go through his shoulder, and turned his entire body towards the blade, causing enough pain as possible. In doing so, he roared out in pain, and that was in harmony with the mercenary's pain.
--------------------------
Mercinus was stricken with fatigue, but the end result was fruitful. Hunter had been beaten back, and the wound count on the ex-mercenary's body increased dramatically. Not only was there a cut across his leg, his back, side and right arm had massive gashes across them. His nose was bloodied, and there was a cut across his right side of his face, where the mercenary had hit him with the hilt of the claymore. He stood over the broken fighter's body, and held the icy blue edge across his neck. "This fight would not have happened, if you hadn't betrayed Terrubane to Lord Sacremento and his Werepyres. Now... you shall face those consequences for your actions." He kicked Hunter's weapon across their battleground, and raised his claymore, ready to deal the death blow to his abdomen.

He suddenly felt a sharp pain erupt from his shoulder, which forced him to drop Silver Moon to the ground, and roared out in pain. He reached for the injured shoulder, and had felt his own blood coming from the mysterious wound. Confusion had stricken his mind, wondering how he got the wound, even though there was no enemy nearby, nor was there any arrows in his back. He looked around, and saw Brodin's sword in MZ's shoulder. When he saw the two warriors, and what Brodin had done, the mercenary had figured out what was happening. "It finally comes to you, dear Mercinus. Without your friend's knowledge, he is not only going to kill the clone, he's going to kill you. If I were you, you better stop him from dealing the death blow, unless you want to visit the Great Sanctuary quickly." By the time Sindra had called out, he saw her brother swinging his sword to MZ's neck, and started to sprint towards the combatants.
----------------------------
Alexandria cackled, seeing both MZ and Mercinus getting injured from the same injury. She stood up, and looked at Sindra. "If you haven't figured out what is happening, Mercinus and MZ5205 is connected by an unknown link. Anything that they feel, may it be a slap across the face, to a near-death injury, the other one is going to feel the same thing. Even the fact that if one is killed by someone, the other one is going to be killed by the same thing as well. And it looks like your brother is going to deal the death blow to both your lover and his opponent. If I were you, you better choose who you are going to save. You brother... or your lover." She watched as the Galactean's eyes widened, and called out to her brother to stop his attack against MZ. Using the distraction to her advantage, she called out to the remaining soldiers to retreat back through the portal, with Hunter leading the retreat through the teleportation device.
----------------------------
MZ smiled, as Brodin was about to deal the death blow to his exposed neck. He had heard his sister's plea to stop the attack. As the warrior obeyed his sister's words, the clone thought that it was time for him to strike. In one, fluent movement, he spun around Brodin, and raised his axe. "Although you don't want to hurt your sister's feeling by any means necessary, this has lead to your downfall. Farewell... weakling." He whipped he huge axe across the warriors back, and allowed the deadly blade edge to cut through Brodin's back. He was about to deal the final blow against him when Mercinus rammed him off balance. Now thinking that he was going to face both an attack from his nemesis and his lover, he followed the retreating group into the teleportation device, and it closed behind them.

Mercinus cursed at the retreating clone, anger filling his roar. Once he calmed down, he turned, and ran towards where Brodin was. He knelt down, and raised the warrior's upper body up. "How are you doing, Brodin? I hope that your injuries were not severe enough for us to treat them until we get you to a medic, just hang in there, friend" He turned to anyone who was in the group. "Sindra... Saninan... Alyre... We need help quickly. Brodin has been injured!" He did not call for Menza, since he was occupied with something that the mercenary didn't know. However, the situation was severe, since he could feel Brodin's soul slipping away from his body.
----------------------------
Menza had ignored the crazy teenager, since she had made no sense at all. However, he was aware that she had one of the sixteen Forsaken Weapons, and had to be cautious about it. He continued to concentrate on the lich in front of him. "You know my name, but I do not know yours. Are you with those people? Or do you have another purpose?" the lich had nodded at the group in the battlefield for the second question. The prophet had chuckled, and allowed the tip of his sword to touch the ground. He remained motionless for a few minutes, then he looked towards at Gerald, his silver eyes looking into his.

"Don't worry, dear Gerald. Everyone has to know my name, since it had been woven in the books of time. My name is Menza Graeleth. The very one who would have challenged Galreth in battle, and would have given a very good fight for him. I have been assigned to protect the Descendant by the Being of Light himself, so you could say that I am working with them. However, you are not going to gather the Forsaken Weapons from Mercinus and his group, since they are formidable. You can attack me if you want, but your attempts will be in vain. Now tell me... Why are you following Mercinus? I know that you want the Forsaken Weapons that are with them, but I think that there is another reason behind it."

Once Jey spoke of the impossibility of bringing back the dead, Gerald finally lost his last bit of patience. When he acted, it was with incredible precision, speed and care at the same time, an accomplishment that was far beyond the abilities of the majority of regular mortals. At the same time as he stepped towards Jey, the glow of his eyes increasing until they actually burst into flames, his skull seeming more monstrous than ever with the two flickering fires casting long shadows across its shape. Channeling large amounts of mana through his arm and into his staff, he commanded it to change with but a single thought, and while he was still moving his hand towards Jey, the wooden shaft of the staff shortened until it was so small that it could actually fit into his hand, and as the malachite glowed brightly, the gemstone expanded in the shaft's place, stretching to become longer and thinner, and in less than a second, the staff had turned into a sword with wooden handle and a blade with a glowing green crystaline blade, and barely had the transformation finished before the blade was against Jey's throat.

"The dead can be brought back!" he hissed furiously, "I know they can! They have to! I have spent four centuries studying the secrets of necromancy and mana, experimenting with magic at levels that is far beyond the capabilities of other mages! It can be done!" He turned his head towards the seer that called himself Menza, but kept his hand and thereby the blade of the Morphblade at Jey's throat. "I just need more power! Enormous amounts of power! That is why I need the Forsaken Weapons, and that is why I am following those people, seer! And I will get it, one way or the other - I have all eternity available to get them!"
