Cakeo? Imp Cakeo?
Luman heaved a steady sigh. The dark elf was sort of…well…bored. Of course he was. After years of being an adventurous swashbuckler, he now had nothing to do, no place to go. And it was pretty damn sad. He let out another sigh, while he let his dark fingers run along the smooth surface of Kura. “It’s a quiet day today…” he told the rock. The red stone heated up slightly in his hand, but did little else. He smiled and let his hand drop, letting the red stone sit in his lap while he began putting his things from last night back into his bag.
After he was done, he looped the bag of holding around his belt loop, and, taking Kura into his hand, stood up and stretched. He had a long day ahead of him, in a place he did not know, far from the coast and his homeland. I’ve should’ve picked up a map when I was still allowed into the city. he thought, regretting to do so when he had the chance. Putting his other hand over the stone, he stepped over a log, and began walking though the forest that he was currently in. Though he did not know which one, and he did not know how long he had to travel until the next town where he could restock on supplies.
The dark elf slipped the red stone into his pocket, while he continued walking, his hands free incase some unwanted person or beast came his way. His longsword clicked quietly against his leg as he walked, but everything else was silent, even his leather booted feet, which patted over the earth as if no one was even there. His midnight blue cloak swished silently as he traveled, his eyes and ears alert for sounds made from other than himself. But the woods was quiet, except for the ruckus of the birds perched high in the treetops. A smile crept onto his face, as he paused to listen. He rarely had time to stop and just enjoy life, his time on this world was too hectic, and so much was going on and he couldn’t let it come and backstab him. But now…there was no one to worry about, no fellow members that might steal something, nothing but himself, and the world around him. It was peaceful actually, something he rarely got to feel. “isn’t it nice to feel at peace for once, Kuma?” he asked, his hand touching the Fire Gem in his pocket. It heated up slightly again, almost agreeing with him.
Luman smiled again, before walking silently again, heading to a place he did not know, nor really cared. He was carefree, and still had the adventurous spirit, but he was more laid back now than when of his swashbuckling years. He didn’t kill if he had to now, and he was keeping his nose clean, no killers after him now. He chuckled to himself about those days. They were not so far as he thought, but yet, they were.
Something tells me that someone's playing with my head again...

She was closing to those she had first heard. She now saw how many there were. Two. She stopped for a second to get a clear view over the two, despite the fact that they still appeared quite small in the distance. She still did hear them. Despite of that. Now she heard well. She couldn't make out words but she heard they were talking. Still heard. Had heard already when she started running but now the voices were louder than before. Much louder. Compared to what those were before. But still too faint to hear well. To make out words. To find out what were they talking about. But louder.

She started walking again, towards the two. Slower than before. Before she ran. The figures became clearer than before. Larger in the distance. No longer were they some small spots on the horizon. Now she began to make out what they did. What they looked like.
One was human. Appeared like one. Woman. A very young one. Or she seemed like one... She was different. Not appearance. Behavior. Not like other humans.
The other was skeleton. A lich. One that wore a crown.

Arechiarnaw slowly walked closer, but then quickened her pace. She has to be there. She looks like elf. She is not. She is Arech. She has to be there. She saw the female human making a few circles on spot. Sounds. More of them. "...ey .oes n.t like waiting." Waiting? She never waited. She moved. There. Towards them.

The young man was lost in his thoughts completely. Being in the mercenary group actually had its cons - or pros? -; his faith in Lord Sacremento wasn't the same as it used to be anymore. These people differed so much - from him, from the minions, from Lord Sacremento himself, and actually all thought that their way of thinking and their view of the world was the correct one. They lacked proof but were so very convinced... The yellow eyed fellow almost frowned in the shadows of his hood. And so do I lack proof... Until now, I used to think that I was 'better' than the mercenaries, but... They would think of me if they knew that I was a spy exactly like I do think of them now... Then, much to his dislike, he noticed that he confused himself out of all people. I'm making no sense! Innerly, he almost hissed, but his face under the dark hood remained emotionless. He was paying no attention to Mercinus and his group due to his... - worries? - but automatically faked like if he did; it was almost part of the master of deceit.

He stopped thinking when the robot named SIN returned, along with a woman who introduced herself as 'Alyre Seerwater, Change Elf of the Fade Leaf clan, from the Garresch Rainforest.' The Delituro's heart made an unusually loud throb when he heard the name of his former home - the Garresch Rainforest, but forced himself to calm down. I don't live there anymore to begin with! And our tribes never had any contact, I'm completely sure that she has never heard of the word 'Delituro' before. He nodded slowly in the direction of the elf but his greeting remained unnoticed because something hit Mercinus. The elf darted to the young man and gasped - and so did Sindra who almost scared the overly sensitive Delituro (well, being sensitive to emotions was a trait of his race after all). He shrugged and looked around, searching for the one who shot the bullet with his unusually sharp, yellow gaze, and soon those eyes were aimed at the woodlands. If something would appear or if he'd notice another bullet with his extreme vision, then he could warn the others - or let it finish off Mercinus, his enemy. Fortunately, this never happened, the second bullet never came.

Sindra healed Mercinus after telling Alyre to back off in a rather rude way. The Delituro gentleman code told him to beware of Sindra's temper and respect her sudden moodchanges. And then this 'prophet' popped up, who introduced himself as 'Menza'. The Delituro decided to keep his distance, he didn't trust the man at all. And as a Delituro, he neither did he put any faith in prophecies. Destiny could be changed or twisted... Somehow, there always was a way out.

"I'm coming to the woods. It's no use to flee... And if one of us could supposedly 'save' the lives of our comrades in the woodland by dying, then I volunteer to come along and maybe pay the price," Saninan replied while calming his nerves down, and putting a hand on his claymore.

"What brings you north? If I may be so bold as to pry? Elves are usually an elusive species? I had not thought to see one north of Terrubane."

Alyre blinked inquisitively at the large man, considering his question. She smiled politely as she decided how best to answer. "I've come north simply to explore the lands outside of the rainforest. I feel that I've seen all I can there, and it's high time I started to see the world. I don't expect to meet any of my kinsmen, but it's certainly possible. Change Elves live all over, and not just in Garresch." She reached up and removed her hair tie, letting the dark strands fall to mid-back before she finger-combed them and tied them up once more. "And what is your group doing here? I'd gladly travel with you if you will have me, for as long as you're heading away from Terrubane I've sights to see where you're going."

The elf glanced back at Mercinus, glad to see that he was back on his feet and feeling well enough to speak with another member of the group. Alyre frowned: she didn't remember him being there before. The new man was all silver and black, and looked to be having an exceedingly grim conversation with Mercinus. She waited with curiosity to find out what they were discussing, careful not to focus her sharp hearing on their voices, lest they think her eavesdropping. Glancing back at Brodin, she blinked apologetically at him to tell him that he wasn't forgotten. What a thing it would be to start a conversation and then wander off to pay attention to another! Finally the curiosity in the back of her mind was sated, as the mercenary turned his attention on the whole group and addressed them gravely.

“He is right… I think that we should head into the woodland area, and clear the enemies out. For those who don’t want to help me and the prophet fight this threat, should start and head towards Galbeez. So I ask all of you… who’s coming into the woods, and who’s heading for Galbeez?” Making sure that Brodin was turning his attention to the mercenary as well, Alyre pondered Mercinus' question. It wasn't really a hard decision to make. She had come to the north to find adventure, hadn't she? Here was the perfect opportunity to make new acquaintances and to explore the northern realms in an interesting way. "Sure I'll come, if you will have me." she said cheerfully. "I'd like to travel with your group, if that's alright. It's been a while since I got to know others with any level of intimacy."

Mercinus had listened in on the conversation that Brodin and Alyre were having, even thought that it was not right for someone else to eavesdrop on someone else’s conversation. He managed to hear a question that was leaving the elf’s lips, once he was done talking with the Galactean warrior. "And what is your group doing here? I'd gladly travel with you if you will have me, for as long as you're heading away from Terrubane I've sights to see where you're going." Once he had finished what he was going to say to the rest of the group, he walked towards the two figures. Once he arrived, the pain in his side seemed to slip out of existence, even though the wound did not. He twisted his body to the sides, to see if the wound did not restrict his movements. Although the pain had returned when he turned his body, it was not bad enough to make him hiss in pain.

“I’m sorry if I had to eavesdrop on your conversation. However, I had managed to hear the question that you had asked Brodin, and I’m here to enlighten you on why we are far north. Like you, I too came from Terrubane, though I’m supposed to head towards a place in another continent called Conuence. The group started to form within Garresch Rainforest, with Sindra being the first member to come along. Once we’re done with this looming threat, I will tell you all of the details about why we are heading towards the capital of Celbaron.” He walked back towards Sindra when he had heard both the responses from Saninan and Alyre. He wrapped one arm around her figure, and smiled. “Are you coming, my love? Although I don’t want you to be the person who falls, I will not want to decide on what you want to do for you.”

Menza watched the two lovers, and smiled. He had also seen the Delituro agree with the following the group into the forest, and the smile disappeared. The prophet had walked up to Saninan, and whispered into his ear. ”I know that you are a spy, working for Lord Sacremento, Saninan. I was planning on telling Mercinus that there was a spy in this group, and make the group very suspicious about you. However, I have foreseen you joining the group. I will not reveal that you are a part of the enemy. Only on one condition. I want you to tell Mercinus that you are a spy, but only when the time is right. If you don’t… then I will reveal everything to him, and he will deal with you personally. You got that?”

A look of inquisitiveness etched into Brodin's features, "Change Elves? There are more than one kind?" His thick hewn hand ran through his lengthy shock of white hair, while his eyes sparkled with a hint of merriment. "It would seem I still have much to learn. Perhaps if time permits you will enlighten me?" His brow arched, but her attention turned to Mercinus.

Sindra could tell Mercinus was still in some bit of pain, but refused to let her concern show. He was a proud, strong man and she wouldn't have him any other way. She knew from the moment he had pulled himself up on the branch that he was not one to give in to pain. Nor would he leave someone behind. Her heart had been won by his every action and word. Now her eyes followed him as he addressed his group of followers. “I think that we should head into the woodland area, and clear the enemies out. For those who don’t want to help me and the prophet fight this threat, should start and head towards Galbeez. So I ask all of you… who’s coming into the woods, and who’s heading for Galbeez?”

She watched Saninan and the new elf with distrust. She had been serious when she said she would not relent after the deception of Semanaia. She trusted Mercinus and her brother. None of the others. For now they were all under her scrutiny.

Brodin listened as Mercinus told the forming of the group to Alyre. After she said she would join he spoke up. "I fear not what the woods may bring, and will join my sword arm to your cause." Looking around to hear the words of the others, his visage was one of firm resolve daring them to deny helping.

Mercinus returned to her her side and as his arm slipped around her he asked, “Are you coming, my love? Although I don’t want you to be the person who falls, I will not want to decide on what you want to do for you.” She smiled playfully up at him, her voice low, "Just try to keep me away. You must know I would walk through hell if you asked, a walk in the woods...a simple matter. If I should fall, know that I will remain on the other side raging at the gate until you arrive, be it a hundred years. Still I do not think we will fall. It is not our time." She looked at the others, her gaze freezing on Brodin. She wished he were not going, but he was strong. He would not fall. Perhaps the weak looking new elf, or the strange Saninan.

"Well, it's good that I'm not the only insane person here," Gerald sighed, relaxing visibly now that the Jey-personality seemed to have retracted and allowed Meryc to be the dominant one again. Truthfully, while Jey was the easiest to manipulate, Meryc really was the one Gerald would rather be kept company by and was most willing to trust with the ability to make reasonable decisions. "We should probably move in that direction, closer to where the group with the Forsaken Weapons were heading when I saw them last, so we could keep an eye on them and look for the right time to ambush them. It would be best if they went somewhere like a cemetary, or an old battlefield or something like that, with many corpses for me to animate and command to aid us in a fight against them... who is that?" He suddenly pointed a bony finger at another character that was approaching them.

Great, just great... it seems that my solitude is now completely shattered. Maybe I can trick Jey into 'painting' with this one...? he thought to himself, but he pushed the thought away as he, with a sigh, awaited the new stranger to approach them. But his annoyance grew with each passing second, since the longer he was delayed here, the longer a headstart the group with the Forsaken Weapons would have.

She was still walking in the same direction she had been in the last minute or so. She hadn't changed her pace. She walked as quick as before. She had time. Arech always had time. Only the destination mattered. Not always she had one. She needed to have a purpose to fulfill. So she had it. She did what she wanted to. She needed to do what she thought she needed to do as that was the very task she had, as she had given it to herself in the beginning of... Everything. Before that was nothing, as there was no her. Now, even before no longer existed. It was now. And everything she yet had to do. What others had to do.

"...who is that?" The question was about her. She saw that clearly enough. The lich was pointing at her.
She won't reply. Not now. Before she has to be there. Then she will talk. Now only going there counted. She has to be there before saying anything.

She was there.

She had reached the destination she had picked herself. The place she had to be. She turned her head looking both of those who were now only a few meters away from her. Them. And through them. Her eyes traveled back to the horizon, as if she no longer even noticed the others were there. She was here. That was all what mattered right now. Later it no longer will. Later come new tasks. New decisions. Things that had to be done at all costs, no matter how simple they were. Right no she didn't have to move to the distances. Her body didn't allow her. That was not meant to cover large areas of nothingness which the plains were. That will come later. With the changes. If they come.

"Arechiarnaw." She suddenly spoke. "Arechiar." Nothing in the manner how she spoke indicated that she was talking about herself, or to who the words were meant to. She still stared at the outer edges of what she could see. The place where the land and the sky met. Horizon. "Arech." The color of her eyes darkened quickly, changing from the bright emerald to the dark green of evergreen trees. She didn't notice it. She couldn't see her own eyes as she was standing there. No mirroring surface. No reflection. No seeing.

Elf-Arech closed her eyes before spinning around and facing the living skeleton again. Only then she opened those again, baring the fact that those were no longer even green, but instead golden-sparkled black. She remembered where she stood, therefore she didn't need eyes for that short time. "That I am." Only for a moment she seemed to actually look at the lich, a moment later she appeared again to look straight through him, as if he was transparent.
"Who?" she said. That was a question, even when she still continued to look nowhere, seemingly gaining on height as she did nothing but to stand. In her case that was more than likely to actually be so, not only appear to.

She needed to know who they were. They had talked. They had noticed her. They had asked who she was. Now she had to be here. At least as long as she changed. No distances. Not now. If they saw through her she would have moved forward. She had to have a place to be. A task.

Silently she waited for a reply, many thoughts running through her head at the same time.
She would be better without the changes right now. She had a strong feeling it was so. Because the others often didn't like the changes. The shifting shape was alien to them. The others didn't like things that were different. Unlike them. Deviant. Unknown. Not recognizable. They feared those things. Most of them. Not all. But most. A faint shiver ran through her body. The changes. They were part of her. Of her kind, as few or as many of them there were. Others like Arechiarnaw. There were a few. There will always be a few. But never will be there many. And never will there be none. They remain. Always.

Another shiver ran down her spine. Not cold. Not any other feeling. Not the sign of her thoughts. She was in constant changing, as she was the shapeshifter. The changer. She was Arech.

"Right, sounds like a lovely plan," Meryc said dryly- (it's insanity, soinsane pureinsanity how is the insane party party i love parties- with dead people, too) before her attention was redirected towards the newcomer. She frowned; the person was clearly traveling towards them in a one-track manner that made Jey (sooo boring i'm so boredbored and boring people come - waiting and boring and) wonder at her. But Meryc ignored Jey's misgivings. She had her own worries to assuage, and assuage she did.

Her stance shifted; her grip on Galangdei changed slightly as well, though she did not move the sword itself. She would be ready to defend herself and Jey - but not blatantly so.

When the newcomer came, spinning around with one-worded answers and questions, Meryc refrained from hitting her head against something- hard. She had lived years with Jey, but never had she encountered someone who seemed to be just as insane as Jey was. She wasn't sure she would be able to retain her sanity if this Arech walked the lines of the mental state that Jey traipsed along. One unstable person was quite enough.

Instead of acting as her exasperated patience wanted her to, Meryc greeted the strange person with a, "Hello, Arech. I am Jeyne."

The person who she was not looking at- or through- spoke. "Hello, Arech. I am Jeyne." She gave a single nod. She had to show she understood. Another shiver went down her spine. Cold. She didn't feel cold. She was changing. Again. Into what she didn't know, as the changes didn't give any sign of it. Never. They just came. Changing her. Turning her into something else.

She has to leave that place here soon. Just not yet. She was here. She had yet to be here. She will leave as the time comes. And she knew she will change before she gets the chance to leave. She'll change at last once. If not more.

Now. She could never control herself. That is what the changes did.

The 'clothes' she was 'wearing' seemed to move slightly in the wind that was not there. She changed. Not fully. The changes were minor. But the changes affected her appearance, and she had not a single idea what reaction the others will have this time. Usually they feared the changes. But that was what she was. A changer. A shifter. Arechiarnaw.

The seemingly fabric-like material seemed to move closer to her body, almost like a second layer of skin. Partially it melded with her body but partially it seemed to grow longer, getting a pure dark blue, emerald color. It was now really part of her skin, or something else which covered her body. The material formed into triangular shapes, many of them, partially covering each other on the edges. It didn't take long when the pattern started to resemble scaling. Hard, strong scaling. The newly formed scales glinted blue in the sun.

Out of habit she processed the change in her head barely noticing it. The scaling didn't help with quick moving. It was heavy. If anything, it slows her down. Slows her down even more. She was not quick already. That meant slow. Relatively. She had been running as it three times the speed of a horse earlier today. Now, she couldn't Not anymore. Not before a shifting compensates it.

Fighting... The scales didn't help a lot. Movements slowed down. No claws or fangs to go with the scales. She was still a humanoid. But the scales protected. They were hard. Strong. Not easily pierceable. Those covered the full of her torso, running down on her legs to the ankles. Those also covered her upper arms and a part of her neck, and there were a few smaller ones of those on her cheekbones and lower jaw. In other words, the blue scaling covered almost all of her body. Her hair had remained as it was, and the black of it had a sharp contrast on the blue sales that covered her back.

She waited for a reaction. The changes had been quick this time. Only a few seconds. Five, no more. The time was a small matter. What will the others think was the problem. She might have to fight. She might have to flee. She might shift again in the time. She had no predictor. They were rare. Rarely she met one. She didn't have the ability herself. Now there weren't any who could foresee what was what they were thinking. Possibly that meant no good. No good for her. Fight. Flight. Nothing. Feelings. Everything was possible.
