Well, I have one bit of good news, if anything, and it's that I'm back.

This past week has been a very difficult time for me. One of my Grandfathers died unexpectedly last week, which is why I had to leave Canada early to go to Michigan to be with my family. I'm finally back home in Florida after the funeral and everything, it feels like I've been gone for a month. This whole past week has just been surreal for me, I still feel as though I'm in a state of shock.

This is probably the first major death I've ever experienced in my family, except for when I lost my Grandmother, but at that time I was only about 4 years old. The unexpectedness of the whole thing has taken a toll.

Before anyone asks, no, I am not okay, to be perfectly honest. My Grandfather lived here in Florida, so we're going to have to go to his house tomorrow, which is now empty. The entire family has been shaken. Not to mention he died the day after my Birthday, which is something I'm now going to have to live with for the rest of my life.

I'm trying to keep in the best spirit that I can, and I am most willing to talk to anyone who wishes to speak to me.

I haven't forgotten my trip to Canada, which I still enjoyed very, very much, and will have to discuss with everyone a little later.

I've... Been through something similar, with my best friend of twelve years dying, so I have an idea of how you feel... Uhhh. I... Well... Try and focus on the good times you had with your grandfather. You've said you've already had the funeral, but would doing something else to remember him help? Is there a place that he liked, that you could visit, where you could reflect on your happiest memories with him?

I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for the loss of a family member, Michael.

The best thing for me when my close aunt passed away last year was to keep my mind off it, but that might just be me. =|

I hope the absolute best for you and the rest of your family. :(

The thing that helps me and my family feel better about the loss of my grandfather is that he wouldn't want us all mourning his death for our lives. He'd want my family to get along and lives their lives. I'd hope the same logic applied in your situation. I do hope you all feel better about his death soon. D=

I'm up for a conversation on MSN if I see you there.

As I said on PP =P...

Ahh you're back my parents just asked me if you were back or not. Weird. o_O

I don't know what really helps you cope with these things but what helps me is to try and avoid people for a bit and try to do things to take my mind off whatever happened.
I hope things will get better for you.

And yeah the trip was awesome. I woke up the next day and was like "Well, back to computer, video games and going out a lot less often not like some Toronto attraction every day." =P
