Every element up is a more reactive version of the element below, so in general a new element will always have applications, not always where the older ones were used, but often in the same sort of field.


Like silicone and carbon. Silicone in a way is just a more reactive form of carbon. Kinda. Which is why it is the only other possiblity for sustaining lifeforms

Yno, like carbon-based lifeforms and silicone-based lifeforms.


But it could have other applications. Silicon can be used in computer chips where it would be difficult to use carbon.
C / Si is just one example though, :D
