Do you believe in real life "cap"

Whore

A bit difficult to explain, but it's something I've been wondering for a while. Do you think everyone has their own personal "cap" on skills? I'm talking about real life and real life skills. Do you think there is a point in any skill whether it be an athlete, someone who can play an instrument, a singer etc., where people reach THEIR OWN maximum potential, and no matter how much they practice can't get any better. Pretty much like getting a "level 100" in a real life skill.

Now I think some people just have certain gifts or talents. Something they were born with etc., but do they still have their own cap. If we're referring to an athlete, I'm not talking about a cap for an all-around basketball player. I'm asking do you think, for example, Michael Jordan reached his maximum potential? Could he have gotten any better, with more training, or was he already at 100% of his talent?

This argument goes for normal people, so please use common sense. I know my question doesn't come out as cleanly and understandable as I'd like it to, so if you don't understand I'll try again =].

Discuss.

Interesting idea.

...I'm ready to sound really nerdy. =P I think there is a cap, but people don't reach the cap normally.

To get from Level 1 to 2 takes little effort, but by the time they're at Level 97 to 98 would take CONSTANT effort for godknows how long. And in most cases, there's a constant reduction of skill making it incredibly hard to get the top level. But yeah, if they trained constantly and reached this so called Level 100, the point where the improvement was insignificant, there's a cap. ^o)

If there is a cap, assume it's value is 1, and that people have a value in all skills in between 0 and 1, or 0% and 100%, if you like.

This cap can't be reached, but a human's value must be able to get closer to it, whatever value it is at.

Of course, I'm the fucking devil, so I don't have a cap, and my skills are equalled by those of Richlight Dawgami, A.K.A. God.

Umm... So you're stating that if we have a purpose in life? If so... I don't really have a purpose. Not yet, I suppose...
