Water & Air Bender

A small ship hid the ice by the Southern Water tribes village. A woman jumped from the boat running towards the village to find a healer. A older man was carrying an injured air bender in his arms as he followed closely behind them. "I need a water bender to help my friend," Rika yelled to the villagers as they stopped glad to see that she was safe having already heard what had happened from her mother. A woman ran to her hugging her. Lets go save your friend shall we?" the voice sounded so familiar to Rika. When the woman backed away she saw that it was her mother. She smiled ran down her cheeks to her chin. She hugged her mom before they ran out of the village to where the her uncle was. "Now Rika I want you to help me with this." She said as she took both their hands and and water covered them both. Her mother guided Rika's hands along his wounds as she taught her daughter the healing process. After the wounds had begun to heal her uncle picked him up again. They all walked back to Rika's moms house to give Tai a chance to rest. Rika fell asleep laying with her arms crossed on his chest that was covered by a polar bear skin. She had another one covering herself as well. Bending XP Gained: 5 XP: 489/710 |

Tai opened his eyes, seeing Rika with her arms on his chest. Tai smiled, feeling very weak. He closed his eyes again, and fell back asleep. |

Ryu hopped off the boat, heading towards his house for a rest. He was still suspicious of the new boy who had arrived in their small village, wondering who he was. All Ryu knew was that he was an air bender who had been captured by the Fire Nation. As he approached his small tent, he settled down on the floor, covered by a polar bear pelt over his head. He soon drifted off to sleep, tired from the long battle. |

Tai awoke the in the afternoon, seeing Rika still fast asleep on his chest. He carefully moved, as to not wake her. He saw he was partially bandaged, but he felt perfectly fine. Whatever the water tribe had done, it worked! Tai walked outside to see the sun in the sky. The tribe looked busy, trying to repair the village from the attack. Tai looked to find Kin, but he was no where in sight. Remembering Avatar Aangs preferred method of locomotion, Tai attempted to use the air scooter. A small ball of air formed underneath him, but quickly disappeared causing him to fall on his face. "Oww..." Tai uttered, rubbing his head. He tried it again, ending in the same result. "I think I'll just walk..." Bending XP Gained: 6 XP: 246/710 |

"Hey, wait up their," A man yelled as he ran after Tai, It was Rika's uncle he hadn't slept since he had returned been working on rebuilding some of the homes. Most of the wreckage had been removed and the homes were pretty much rebuild due to the water benders. ----------------------------------------------------- Rika stirred inside her house she woke up realizing that Tai wasn't there. She felt exhausted having stayed up most of the previous day bending. She remembered having to two attempts at healing Tai when they had gotten him back to her house. She got up putting on her coat and buttoning it. Something not normally done before she ran outside to look for him. She was hoping he hadn't left without saying goodbye. Starting to wake up, Ryu groaned a bit. He was tired but he felt he needed to get up and walk around. Taking the pelt off his head, he put it on the ground and peaked out of his tent. Everything seemed to be repaired quickly. He grinned a bit to see that the Fire Nation had not gotten the best of the Tribe. He began to walk out into the snow. |

Tai attempted to lift himself in the air and spin himself to face the man, but he didn't really move. He tried it again, getting about half way. Well, my bending just isn't working for me today... he thought as he turned to see the man running up to him. "Hi! How are you doing today. The last time I remember seeing you, you were pretty out of it on Kin. Speaking of which, do you know where he his?' he said, looking around for his flying bison. "If it wasn't for me right now I don't think you would be standing here this morning. As well as if it weren't for Rika and her mother, you wouldn't be up walking around quite yet," the man said as he walked towards him. He thought back to when we had returned and he reached into his shirt grabbing the boys whistle. "I found this on you, thought I'd keep it safe till you got better. You're not planning to leave before saying good bye to her are you?" He said tossing him the whistle. --------------------------------------------- As Rika ran from her home she stopped paying attention to the people around her. She continued to run not seeing a young man in front of her as she crashed into him. "Sorry, about that I'll watch where I'm going next time. I was in kind of a rush," Rika said as she got back to her feet wiping the snow off her jacket. She offered him a hand. Edited by Kunugi, Aug 18 2008, 04:04 AM.

"Well, let us not forget who plucked everyone out of the water, and whose flying bison got most everyone back here safely?" Tai asked, smiling as he caught his whistle. When the man asked him about saying goodbye, Tai sat in the snow. His eyes closed a little, his head fell and he looked to the side. "No, of course not. But what is this about her being engaged?" he asked looking at the whistle in his hand. |

"I'm not saying I'm not grateful for your help. I'm actually glad you did. I believe you may well have saved all of us by going back to fight with my niece on that last boat that showed up," her uncle said as he sat down next to Tai and looked at him. "In all honesty it was her fathers ideas and ambition that put his daughter into that position. I'm tempted to send her father a message saying she was captured by the Fire Nation to free her from that fate." A woman began to walk up behind the two as they continued to chat. "Brother what bad things are you showing this young man," Haku said as she stopped behind the two of them. She put a hand on both their shoulders. "Thank you for saving us. My only wish is that our brother didn't sacrifice himself to save me." |
