He now resides in the Southern Water Tribe. Status: Good Items/Weapons: Sword- This sword was crafted out of whale teeth and marble, giving it an unusual white color. The handle of the sword is a bright gray. The sword has a dark gray metal case with the water tribe symbol at the top along with black swirls near the bottom. Ryu calls this weapon, The Whale's Roar because it is made out of whale teeth. Dagger Bladed Boomerang Polar Bear Pelt (Sometimes worn over head) Backpack Sleeping Bag War Hammer Coat (Boy on the right) Watertribe Money Wolf Armor (consists of dark blue body armor, gray plated arm and leg guards, and a silver helmet shaped into a wolf's head) Spear made of bone (used for spear fishing) Background: Ryu was not born with a special bending power. As he watched his friends improve over the years, growing up in the Northern Water Tribe, he soon began to grow a bit jealous of their abilities. Ignoring the fact, Ryu continued to live his life meaninglessly. That is, until he met a girl named Amai. They soon got together, being girlfriend and boyfriend. One day when Amai and Ryu were out spear fishing, a group of fire benders attacked them. Ryu was unsure why, but their main target was Amai. Amai, being a water bender tried to fight them off but it failed. While she was fighting them off, she used a special white water. She was soon killed by blue fire. When the benders left, Ryu never felt so useless, seeing he could not help fight the benders off or help protect Amai. Knowing she was going to die, Amai decided to tell Ryu a terrible secret she had tried to tell him so many times but couldn't bear to. When Amai was born, the Moon Spirit had choose her to be able to gain energy from the Moon Spirit when the Tribe was in trouble, though it wasn't really needed in this time of peace. She was known as the "Water Prodigy." Amai soon passed away a few minutes later after telling Ryu her story. The next few months after her death were not easy. Ryu had to listen to his parents constant fighting. He didn't understand how two people who loved each other could fight so harshly in front of their only son. A few weeks later, Ryu finally decided to do something about dealing with her death. He decided to become a swordsman so he could protect others and never have to watch someone else die in front of him again. Searching for a master was rather difficult. Ryu was tempted to leave the Northern Water Tribe because he needed to search for a teacher. He finally found one in his homeland. He began practice with wooden swords. As he progressed through the days, he was finally ready for a real sword. He gathered whale teeth and marble to make his sword white. He made his sword white in memory of Amai's white water she used for bending. Ryu would not be able to continue his training with master. This was because Ryu had gotten fed up with his parent's bickering. One night, his father threatened to leave the Tribe, originally being from the Air Temples. Instead, Ryu was the one who entered up leaving. He told the Grand Master of the Northern Water Tribe that he would be living in their Sister Tribe, The Southern Water Tribe. Ryu packed up his things the following night without informing his parents and left on canoe. The ride was harsh, having to avoid many icebergs on the trip. Once he arrived at the Southern Water Tribe, he was greeted well. He lived with his elderly Grandpa but eventually moved into his own tent. Through the years, he continued his sword training by building snowman and slashing through dummies. He has improved through the years but continues to work to that of skilled rank. Personality: Ryu is strong willed. He will fight for what he believes in and stand up for others. He also has a good sense of humor along with a few sarcastic remarks here and there. He likes to see the overview of things before doing them and often points out pros and cons of everything. He believes every plan has a con to it but it can be avoided if you time it just right. Most of the time he is a laid back type of guy. He has a strong craving for meat and doesn't like food to go to waste. Ryu enjoys combat and has an eye for good weapons. Though he may not show it most of the time, he is rather intelligent and clever on the battle field. Character Appearance Hair Color: Dark brown hair that goes down to his ears and to his eyebrows. It doesn't cover his eyes so he can see in battle. Eye Color: Black Clothing: Ryu wears a Navy Blue coat with white fur on the ends of it. The coat does not have a hood but has white fur around the neck area for warmth. Underneath the coat, he wears a sleeveless blue shirt with white outlining. Below his shirt, cloth of the same material of his shirt hangs below, reaching to about his thigh. It goes all around and when looking at him, it looks like a sleeveless robe. He then wears faded brown pants along with brown boots with some teeth hanging on them. He usually takes off his coat when he is traveling. Skin Tone: Tanned Height: 5'4" Feet Weight: 127 pounds Accessories/Other: Ryu has a necklace with a seal tooth attached hanging down from his neck. Also, he has match let of whale teeth on his right shoulder. He has white tape going around an area around his left shoulder area. A brown strap is on his leg that holds his dagger. He also has a black strap that can hold his sword that goes across his chest. Physical Description: Ryu is currently mastering the ways of the sword through learning swordsmanship. In combat, he uses his surroundings as advantages in various ways. Though he is just 15, he is pretty strong. Some muscle is visible when he takes off his coat through his arms.
