“So my feelings don’t matter now, is that what you’re getting at?” If anyone else had said such a thing to her, she probably would have been instantly furious at them. As it was, with Harry there was both anger and disappointment in his choice of words. So that’s how it was going to be then. She just happened to be here when he walked by and needed someone to talk to; well lucky her. “I’m glad I was in the right place at the right time so that you could have someone to talk to. In the future, friends actually seek each other out when they want to talk.” Ginny lie back down in the grass, partially so that she didn’t have to look at him anymore. Maybe being friends was too much to ask for after they had gotten a taste of what it was like to be more. Maybe it was just too soon. She sighed, now upset with herself for getting angry at the one person she most wanted at her side all summer long. This entire thing was just frustrating now, and she didn’t even want to deal with it any more. So instead, she finally changed the subject to something that would hopefully be easier for them both to talk about. “Have you set a date for quidditch trials yet?” He was the captain of the team, so that responsibility fell upon him, and she wouldn’t want to miss tryouts. Part of her couldn’t wait for quidditch season, if only because then she would have one more thing to occupy her mind and her time. |

"Ginny, you know what I meant." He had felt instantly sorry when she snapped. Rightfully so, his choice of words hadn't been the best at all. "I'm sorry Gin, truth be told, I was about to get up and go see Hagrid." Her next question caught his attention and eased him. Quidditch, something they could both enjoy and not jump down each others throats about. He yawned again. "I've been working on it, trying to find a date that can work for everybody. You have any days you can't do it?" |

Yeah, she did know what he meant, but part of her wanted to be difficult just then. This wasn’t exactly easy for her, to talk like nothing have ever happened, but she could tell it wasn’t all that easy for him either. So instead of continuing on down that of questioning, she latched onto the change in topic. “Every day works for me, basically. I’ll put trials before schoolwork any day.” Turning onto her side, she propped her head onto one arm while the fingers of her other hand began to run through the grass in front of her. She felt more at ease, talking about every day subjects, almost like she could actually pretend that there wasn’t a war going on outside the castle walls. She noticed that he had yawned several times now, and she wondered how he had been sleeping at night. Probably not very good, but she didn’t feel like asking about that just now since they had actually found some common ground. Maybe if she continued to ask questions, then they wouldn’t have to worry about the conversation turning sour again. “What classes are you taking this term?” |

"Well the usual, Potions, Transfiguration, Defense, Charms." Harry acknowledged her question, continuing on listing his classes. He leaned back and closed his eyes himself, he felt at peace here, with Ginny, even though he shouldn't. Truth be told, he was trying to stop himself, yet deep down...he didn't care. For the first time since returning to the castle he could feel the tranquility that surrounded the place. Harry lightly smiled, more to himself than Ginny. He snuck a glance at her before focusing on the tree above them. A bird could be heard chirping in the distance. Harry stretched out and yawned again. He picked up a random rock laying on the ground by them and started throwing it to the air and catching it. Truth be told, he had been sleeping like hell, not getting along with his dreams, he did however, continue practicing occlumency, clearing his head every night before sleep. On average, about once a week he got away with a decent nights sleep however, this weeks day had not come. "Looking forward to Hogsmeade?" Harry in truth, was, of course 95% of the 3rd years and up were looking forward to it. The other 5% were probably not going, permission slips and detentions were most likely to blame. Harry really wanted to get to Honeydukes, he needed some more chocolates, and Zonkos as well, everyone needed a lugh at the moment, he more than others it seemed, oh and he was majorly craving some butterbeer from Rosmerta's Three Broomsticks. |

She nodded her head as he gave her his list of classes; pretty typical, exactly what she would have expected of him. Ginny had heard him mention his desire to become an auror in the past, and she doubted that it had changed. From the sound of the classes he was taking, that was still the plan. He would make a good auror, and she guessed that already he had more experience fighting dark wizards than half of the aurors in the Ministry. “I’m taking pretty much the same things, plus Care of Magical Creatures.” Ginny had always been an animal lover, even if she hadn’t had any animals herself growing up. There was the family owl, Errol, and of course Pig, whom she had named, and of course Crookshanks. But it wasn’t until recently when she had gained a pet; Arnold the Pygmy puff whom she had bought from her brother’s store. COMC had become one of her favorite classes at school, and she had already shown Arnold to Hagrid that morning. He had given her a few tips on caring for the Pygmy puff, though she wasn’t sure if she really wanted to slather on its fur, even if it was supposed to help increase the shininess. She felt herself smile as the conversation turned towards Hogsmeade, the wizarding village that was just a brief walk down the path from the school. “Who isn’t looking forward to going? I don’t know if I really need to go to any of the stores, but it will be good to get out for a day.” She had stocked up on supplies at her twin brothers’ store in Diagon Alley before coming to school this term, so she had really everything that she needed. Maybe she could find something around Honeydukes, but there was no way that she would set foot in Zonko’s anymore. Their products just didn’t match up to those of Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, and even if they did, she would still stay away from it simply out of family loyalty. |

"Nice" was his reply in response to her classes. Truth be told, Harry was unsure as to what he wanted to do anymore. He was tired of hunting dark wizards. He didn't have any intentions on going to Auror training after school at the moment. He still had his eyes closed as he thought of his future, where would he be lead? What if he didn't rid the world of Voldemort? These were the two main questions on his mind. "Yeah, I understand that. Same way for me to be honest, I just want out. Away from here, away from the 'Chosen One' crap that plagues me here." He shrugged, still mostly thinking of the prior questions. Furthermore, what would happen to Gin if he didn't make it but still managed to kill Voldemort? He faded off into his thoughts not really paying any attention anymore. He stretched and tensed a little as his thoughts turned to the most recent question flowing through his mind. What if Gin didn't make it and he did? |
