(This is an open invitation to the first annual Mountain cup sent via any and all means to all corners of the continent. Long post be ye warned.) I Dargan Drosilan hereby post this official invitation to any and all potential competitors to the Mountain Cup. The games will be played by traditional mountain croquet rules which means mountain to mountain paths to the great arch starting at Fengar Keep and finishing at the Naưr River between the God curse and the fey woods. All are welcome and the winner of the tournament will win the Mountain trophy, the first hammer used to play the great sport by the Great Thane himself. I also hereby announce my intentions to spread the game to the whole continent, with terrain based rules so that any one can play with their own skills and strengths. As the longest running Croquet champion in God-cursed memory I took it upon myself to take the game to new extremes and discovered that it has more variety than any thought possible. And so as the foremost expert on Croquet I wrote official rules for the following: The Mountain cup; Traditional Croquet, each participant carves a boulder of Large size and proceeds to beat it through the mountains from peak to peak until it is small enough to fit in the groove at it's end. This is to be known as Power Croquet. The Plains cup; each participant is paired with a mount of their choice and must though riding skill and precision hit a tiny size ball through a long course of small but well marked hoops until the course is complete. This is to be known as Speed Croquet. The Desert cup; each participant is given a large sized Croquet ball that is made of ice with a tiny sized ball at the core. The ball is both a ball and the players water supply, they must run the ball through the shifting desert course along a straight path as signified by a signal in the sky until the course is run. This is to be known as Endurance Croquet. The Forest cup; each participant is given a tiny Croquet ball and is placed in the fey woods. They must find their way through three hoops in any location within the woods and then escape the course. This will be known as Calculation Croquet. The Chaos cup; each participant must carve a tiny Croquet ball from the magically infused stones of the lands. The player then must Shepard the ball through hoops that are made of similarly random materials until they end the course. This will be known as Adaptation Croquet The Unity cup; each participant plays in each of the hitherto invented games of Croquet in a multi-terrain arena to determine the best player in all of Athesia. This will be known as Croquet. In order to accommodate this I am looking for those with a sense of fun and the wherewithal to do so to host cups for each of the lands. The host chooses the lay of the course and the grand prize or prizes for the tournament. Once more I must stress that Croquet is above such things as alliances or borders or religions or grudges. Anyone, absolutely ANYONE may enter a croquet tournament free from persecution, or harm (unless the rules or the game call for some spirited combat). I will personally promise to punish those who tread upon the spirit of Croquet. I my self will only compete here on in the Unity cup though I will continue my travels to new lands to ever grow this great game and invite all future Croquet champions to do the same. May the hammers of Croquet forever strike at your hearts. Dargan Drosilan. Former 10 time North God-curse Croquet champion Foremost expert on Croquet and current rule-keeper. |

Since you first mentioned this game I have been interested in trying my hands at it. A tournament such as this could only improve relationships and lessen grudges. I will attend. (OC: Does this mean we are going to have a croqet tournament by the lake, cos that is awesome!) |

I should like to join in, this sounds like a good way to spend time beyond searching deserts for lost people. |

A missive arrives in the council chambers with Nkosi's seal closing the parchment. Dargon breaks the seal and reads out. Dear Dargon Drosilan, It is with great pleasure that I write to you this note. I was most happy with the challenge you gave me the year prior. I heard you were unfortunately predisposed in the last tournament so I could not compete against you. I however came 7th in the tournament and for my first run, I am proud of my accomplishment. News of the game has reached the Wastes and the Nkosi tribe will be most honoured if you allow us to host the Desert Cup. Yours Truly, Ishaq Nkosi |

Dargan Writes a missive in reply. Dear Ishaq Nkosi It is with great pleasure that I recieve word from you. I'm afraid that I had lost memory of our meeting and of my love of Croquet In the year since we met though I have regained my former glory now. I'm impressed with a 7th place for your first competition though not surprised. I hereby endorse your Pledge for the Desert cup and hope to see you there. I also hope to test my mettel against you once again when we finally hold the Unity cup. Yours Truly, Dargan Drosilan Edited by Dargan Drosilan, 12 Mar 2013, 21:49.

Is a duck a valid mount? Or I suppose I could give Jeremy a test drive. Count me in as a competitor, aye? |
