Considering the situation in the wastes and my own hand in it, I figure now is the time to make things clear... perhaps so we might figure out a path through this? I intend to stop the stranglehold the necromancers have on the waste, the shadow they cast is far too dark to be allowed to fester any longer. The pitiful being that stands at the heart of the shadow deserves rest, and if it comes to it I will put the three sons of the pharoah to the sword myself if I must. If the darkness cannot be eradicated then it should be purified and bound, kept out of the reach of those who would use it for ill. However... I believe the simple solution of crowning a new pharaoh is a foolish one? The mere existance of a single being propping up the power of the wastes was a factor in it's current situation? Why are we (like in the Mountains) returning to the old ways that seemed to cause the grief we live in? I propose that we break this cycle and forge a rule based upon a council, one where the burden might be shared among the just, instead of borne sole by one being? I ask you Astvhan, Salthazar, people of the wastes and heroes of this land... which path do you wish to take for your land in the future? |

I actually agree with you on this Marcellus. My tribe has survived in the wastes for as long as we can remember, avoiding or hunting the undead and it continues to exist. It is the only life we know, and we don't need a god like Pharaoh telling us what to do (we would be more receptive to a Lord of Atheisia). I've been quiet on this in the past since Onouris appeared because I thought the process of making a new Pharaoh was a far off endeavour but I guess things are starting to change. Don't get me wrong however, I'm all for eradicating the undead and necromancy from the Dead Wastes but I'd rather live free, fight, die and become a undead servant, than live my actual life as a slave to the will of a demi-god. |

The shadows as they stand are a broken horrible thing, the cast off's of an abomination.... Perhaps they could be used for good but as it stands I agree, they must be sealed, purified, destroyed if need be. |

This is a rare moment of agreement between us, Marcellus. Thaya are a huge territory; I know this truth more than most. We are also a heterogeneous culture; with many tribes and many caravans traversing the scorching sands; from the more mercantile Northern regions, to the nomads of more southern regions. One Pharaoh cannot hope to control such a realm on their own. I shall sit down and attempt to think of a solution for this. I think I might be able to come up with something. It is a simple solution, you subdivide the Pharoah's power, we have four artifacts we can use as vessels: The sword to defend the people The Staff to guide them The twin stars, one of the evening to guard the darkness, one of the dawn to bring a new light |

Perhaps a new course could be set with these items. Lest we doom the sands to endless repetition, the cycle must be broken and the nature of these artefacts altered that they do not grant deity upon an individual. As the mountains would suggest this land has seen more gods of men than it could stand. More fire would not quench the inferno. |
