Report on the Envoy to Nkosi; Why do I have to keep doing these?

There were two scholars on this mission, why does it fall to me to Report the findings? Ah well I guess I should begin.

We arrived at the meeting place, a deserted town in the dead wastes to find Our contact there, we discussed some things, finding out the following facts:

The sons of the Pharaoh cannot die until a new Pharaoh is chosen, upon which they lose their immortality (and thus die due to aging).#
For a new Pharaoh to be chosen we need all 4 artifacts
The sons are perfectly willing to wage a protracted and bloody war, as they are being shipped the dead from our other foes to use in their armies.
Nkosi is apparently willing to settle this diplomatically and create a nation state similar to our own.

After the discussion we were betrayed and thrown into a nethery shadow realm, which appeared to be part of a ruined complex.
Upon the wall was depicted an ancient battle between four forces, each son of the Pharaoh (save Onurus) aligned with a lich:
Mosen with Kememuati (SPirit Necromancer and Glyph Mage Lich)
Lizuge with Djesmet (Body PArts necromancer and Assassin Lich)
Nkosi with Meketh (Warrior Necromancer with Anubis Guard Lich)

The fourth side was of course Onurus and his horus guard, fighting a fighting retreat

We fought many battles through the complex, avoiding traps and corrupted guardians of the wastes:
An aside, the beings of glass that channel the light are a thorn in the necromancer's side, we should find out where they are and possibly enlist their aid.

The only other thing of note we found Was a ruined city, where Kememuati's son rested in the slumber of death, slain when he opposed the darkness of his father.
I communed with him, asking of what happened and if he would fight for the land again, he said he would so I used the power you all despise for its purpose, I brought him back, this noble soul that was beyond the aid of divine Resurrection and gave him a chance to fight for his land again, perhaps you all should be less accusatory of my intent in the future... but I digress (I am starting to sound like Varis and his grandiose speeches of the most minor thing). Using his knowledge we also gained the first piece of a puzzle to finding the location of the capitol City of THea, Over the next years I suggest we search for more buried settlements to pinpoint the locations via Triangulation.

Upon finding the end of the complex we met with Lizuge (who was Pretending to be Nkosi earlier, though apparently he acted completely in character) who answered some more questions, most pertinent was the source of the necromantic power, which he told me in between acting like a tricster and antagonist.

What matters now is that we know our enemy, I will be spending the next year finding a way to end the source of the darkness in this land.

By Light or Darkness, the spirits of this land or the raw might of the arcane, I will purge the darkness from the desert

Marcellus.

The Following Message is sent via Sending ritual:

Firstly don't repeat this, don't even respond to the fact you are hearing this

Yes This is marcellus

I for now am assuming our information defense is compromised:

Lizuge is manipulating us

Firstly he wants us to hunt down the crystal golems for him, to allow him to deal with them

Secondly he most likely wants us to focus on crowning Onurus Pharoah because he can replace him and thus circumvent the entire war Process

Please be careful about when you discuss this as I would rather not have to plan around him planning around our plans

I don't know why it came as such a surprise to me that Onuris is the rightful pharaoh as Lizuge so politely informed us, but though Lizuge answered many questions, he raised more in my mind than he craftily uncovered to us; perhaps that was part of his intention.

Scholars don't report Marcellus, we research. I've been poring over a glyph I copied down while we were there, a trap glyph I believe? Its fascinating. As were those small mini-obelisks we encountered. I wish they had been accessible enough to bring to the surface (they're not exactly doing much down there, are they? we confirmed that. Whatever protection that tomb had was subverted long ago.)
