That makes very little sense to me, the accused cannot be the judge of his own actions to my mind. |

I simply brought up a list i felt was important feel free to amend and rewrite them for the sake of accuracy,, my point being that grand larceny is hard to prove and though It's nothing I have personal experience with I am aware that it is a crime that people have said happens. The other thing that worries me about this situation and why I brought it up, we feel free to instantly enact capitol punishment on those we consider enemies but with less evidence and charges than we are willing to pose on our selves, sometimes we act pre-emptively assuming as we do that those of certain factions are automatically deserving of death, could there have been situations where we struck down a force that could have been coming to us as separatists from their allies and coming to us for aid, have we proof that this has not indeed happened. And yet there are those among us who sit and grin at themselves as they get away with acting as badly as these enemies we fight and we twiddle our thumbs and discuss who should get to talk about it. If any of these man had been allied to our enemies they would already be dead, and I'd argue that two of them may well be. (ooc) technically the reason we get away with this is alignment detection though in character that cannot be a good enough justification especially where several characters would now be unaligned or evil by dnd alignment, which should npc by athesian rules (ooc) |

A miscommunication, Ceryndra, I meant one of the people of the accused's origins. One who would understand the customs of the accused. |

Indeed and no one has stated to the contrary this in fact was always the plan of a council of 7. |

Through the history of alliance making in this land, unified systems of justice either never get agreed upon, never used or disintegrate. If you are within a land that is part of Athesia (or recognised by us) you should obey the local laws. Matters relating specifically to the council and your actions while executing your duty are always more complex and can be handled as I have suggested elsewhere. K. |

I know I am not the most knowledgeable on law systems but could we not have a law system set up that applies only to the council. That is to say it would not filter down into the denizens of Athesia as it would grow too complicated and would have varying problems. For the sake of punishment and the like within the courts I supposed there could be something. Just my 2 coppers, I shan't say much more as like I said I'm really bad at coming up with court systems/punishments. |
