I am not sure how Akhenaten could open people's hearts to Aten now, as he was unable to do so during his lifetime. (Forgive me if I sound a bit critical, I've just never understood the concept of communicating with the dead, though I admit to finding the idea intriguing, hence my interest in the 19th century Spiritualist movement.) I'm also not sure that irrationality will yield better results than rationality. The problem with the situation as I see it is that the same problem exists today as it did for Akhenaten: people's lack of interest in the idea being presented. Akhenaten went about his message the wrong way, and it backfired for him. History repeats itself : making similar mistakes today will yield similar results. I can speak from experience here, as I have worked VERY hard for years to keep this list alive in some form. It's frustrating, but as long as Meryre allows me Admin access (for which I'm very grateful to him) , I will try my best to keep this forum running for those who are interested Sorry, had to get a plug in there,LOL. Though to be fair,If he were alive today,Akhenaten "may" find a slightly more receptive public than his own people at the time. There might be more people willing to listen to his ideas today,as there are always those who are interested in different ways. I'm sure there were a few Atenists in Amarna other than Akhenaten and his family, but as we see, not enough to keep the system going after his death. Edited by AmarnaGirl, Sep 15 2015, 03:25 PM.
