Ok, see the other topic for the introduction - I'm making a few alterations to the AoL class system and so here they are: Mages, Dark Mages, and Priests/priestesses are all going to be merged into one Magician class, but there will be specialisations, and the difference between FE magic and the magic in this is instead of tomes and whatnot, there is a magical language, and you have to use phrases from it, combined with strength of will, to cast spells for example if I wanted to, say create a shield around someone I would use the phrase 'Be shielded' and direct the magic at said person. In the language the word for 'be' is 'waise' and the word for 'shielded' is 'skoliro' so you would say "Waise skoliro!" while directing your will at the person you want to protect. Anyone who chooses the mage class tree can put their specialty (healer, damage, protect, balanced or anything else you can think of) and I will pm you a little list of phrases that you will most commonly use. Feel free to ask me for a specific word or phrase if you think up something paticularly clever you want to do, such as 'cut the arteries surrounding the heart' and I'll try to create a phrase to that effect from my little big dictionary. Secondly, most of you won't start with all the weapons and skills of your class, but will instead discover your abilities or train with a paticular weapon during the prologue and the beginning of the first chapter (training montages provided at no extra cost) exceptions will be things like bard, dancer, and simple classes like hunter and fencer etc. Anyway, here are my profiles: Name: Erandil Age: 17 Affinity: Fire Class: Swordcaster Appearance:  Personality: Headstrong and sometimes overconfident, but generally likeable. Quick to anger but trusting. Background: Born in Callvale, has lived with his aunt and uncle all his life, as his father left before he was born and his mother died in childbirth. Trains with his sword regularly, but has yet to discover his magical potential. Name: Arya Age: 89 (in human years about 19) Affinity: Ice Class: Swordcaster Appearance:  Personality: Quiet and often seems somewhat cold, rarely laughs and has been known to lack a sense of humour. Background: The daughter of Ithilia, queen of the elves Arya acts as her envoy and spy amongst the human kingdoms. Is highly skilled both with a sword and in magic. Firstly; Spells. While I think your idea of a magic vocabulary is interesting I don't know how well it would work. If Arya said "Waise Skoliro Aya-Tsuki" I'd have no idea of any shield, and assume she was swearing at me in her elven tongue XD So in short, how do other people know what a specific spellcaster cast? (Assuming it's not in their list of spells you gave them?) Since this seems like a pure RP with no stat relevance, what will be their use? If they'll be mentioned at all, and if not what's the difference between Fencer and Sword Master? Finally (I asked this over at the other topic too) but what is the character restriction, your proficiency training concept seems to imply we're all villagers from the mentioned village, who can learn to wield weapons. Is the village called Callvale? One more thing, since all magic classes are merged. Hence staff and tomes aren't very significant. Characters that don't usually use magic can? (EG A Soldier that uses a fireball) Obviously this would have to come with restrictions on non-mage magic. Basicaly, the classes just define what you want to wield/learn. Yes everyone starts as villagers from Callvale, and yes, it is possible you would think they were swearing, but it is common knowledge amongst soldiers that magicians use that language as magicians are a key part of warfare. |

Ok here's my profile Name: Mia Age: 18 Affinity: Fire Class: Mage Appearance:  Personality: Extremely shy, Mia lacks confidence in her abilities, more of a listener than anything else, she rarely speaks up unless its of great importance, even in the company of friends. Background: Born in Callvale, her father is a hard and harsh man who sees his only daughter as a grave dissapointment. Her mother, slightly softer than her father but still hard, has taught her daughter to dance since she was little, giving Mia slight grace and softness to the way she moves. Her skill in magic however, was taught to her by her grandmother in secret, after talking to Mia about it, she soon learnt the young girl was very interested, and since then has been teaching her. ((hope its ok ^-^)) |

Name: Wisp Age:17 Affinity: Wind Class: Fighter (Using small axes, more like hatchets.) Appearance:  Personality: Wisp is verry independant and stubborn about it. Because of this he is verry quick to judge others and would never want to relly on anybody else. This also makes him slightly wary of anyone knew. Background: Wisp was born in calvalle and spent most of his life doind what he wanted. His parents both worked hard to earn money so they couldnt look after him durring the day. He roamed around on his own or sat in there house for most of his younger years learning for himself. As he got older he tried lots of jobs. He tried woodcutting for a while but, although he became good at using an axe, he found it boring. He found his true calling when one day he was asked to deliver a letter and was offered money for it. Because of his free roaming lifestile he was one of the fastest people in the village. As he got known he beggan to travel thurther and thurther out of the village dellivering messages for various people and he earned good money for it. The problems began when tention began to build between Cordelia and Enxnet. Because of the rulers focus on the threat of the other country bandits became more common and his job became more dangerous. He began working in a smaller area and having to carry weapons that slowed him down until it was almost imposible for him to work. |

Okies, both of you two confirmed - just going to wait for Aya And as for your other questions Aya, seeing as I was rushed when I made that last post, yes a Soldier could seek out magical traning, but it would be very hard to learn and would take a lot of time and effort. Also they would only be able to learn the most basic of spells. The magic classes are there for people who want a head start with magic, and they will have some spells that would be too draining on others. |

Could I learn some short range teleportation spell. It would be unpredictable at first and I could eventualy start to learn to teleport into a sertain area before being able to do spot on teleportation. |

Blah, finally woke up, anyway here's my profile. Name: Reika Age: 18 Affinity: Thunder Class: Thief Appearance: Background: Reika was found battered and bloody by an elderly man near the village of Callvale when she was a child. After several weeks or nursing Reika awakened only to find that she her memory was gone. The man kindly gave her the name Reika (The name of his late wife) and raised Reika as his own daughter. Reika had never gotten along with the local children, she wasn't born in the village like them, and they described her as creepy. Reika was fine though as the old man was all the company she needed. Sadly the man passed away several years later. While sorting through the old mans belongings she came across a pair of daggers which had been tucked away from sight. Curious she picked them up and immediately felt a warm sensation climb up her arm. She had used a weapon like this before. She lived peacefully, hunting her own food at night when no one was awake. The villagers didn't trust her enough as it was, the idea of her being adept in wielding a weapon no doubt would terrify them. Due to her nightly activities, she accumulated skills much like a thief.
