I'm going to be the cynical meanie I always am, and point out a few things.

Firstly what is that blue mark above the left eye? It looks like a smiley face.
The weird things in the gap between hair and head scarf look out of place,
And the end of the hair, shouldn't be showing, the head scarf thingy should be infront,
Also did you intentionally cut off the body?

A nice attempt, and I applaud you for your effort, but a bit rough overall. Do you splice mugs often?

I recommend splicing characters that are facing the same direction until you have more experience, (Forde faces sideways, while Jaffar looks forward.

Ummm, yeah, try to keep things simple until you get a good feel for the physics of faces.

Nice try, but the end result is not so great. Try again.

Well I hope you don't take this as an insult, but I tried making Ryko, based on what you posted above. I'm not trying to tell you to use mine, (since I'm still rather inexperienced in this sort of stuff as well) But I was in the process of creating mugs for all Nordive characters, and Ryko and Guyver (I'm assuming you'll just use the same mug as Guyver AoL) slipped my mind.

Anyway here it is Posted Image

I must admit Jaffar is a pain to work with, not many characters have such a small head and the head scarf thingy makes it hard to add hair on properly.

I find the hardest part of making/editing a mug the joining and the shading. Once again especially with paint

(this is just (failed) edited hair)

Trying to give them dark greeny bluey and black hair respectively
Think the first one is miles better but neither are really good.

Surely if you are colour changing, the mugs use 3 shades for hair I think, so pick 3 shades you want and just fill them in.

Midly Ryko i best. The one on the right has a tanned face and untaned arm.

@Shining, shading or recoloring? Shading (for me) is when I add shading that isn't there, but your examples seem to be recoloring already existing shading.

There's are two solutions, steal or color edit.

Color Edit: At the top there's a dropdown box called "Color" click on it and there should be an option called "Edit Colors" click it and then click on "Define Cutson Colors." Forget everything there except the "Lum." Edit this up/down by 20~30 for each new color, as Gangreen said use 3 (sometimes 4) colors. Zoom in with the magnifying glass, and carefully recolor.

Steal: Go to a mug (I want dark red hair, Eliwoods is too bright so I'll use Joshua's) and copy a portion of his hair. In most instances you'll find that it has 3 colors, and then use the "Pick Color" Icon (eyedrop?) and transfer the colors over. I recommend this method until you get used to it, (it usually looks better to) You can also use clothing colors. (IE older Hectors dark blue scarf, but if you find that there's only two colors, use the method above to create a third)

@Gan, *laughs* Your right, maybe he's pale in the arm because he usually covers it up and it hasn't seen daylight in years? I was rushing when I did those so I guess I overlooked that, I can change it if someone wants me to, but otherwise, my excuse is the aforementioned reason:P

I use both those techniques making the Jeremy things. I might start designing a sprite for undying as well if others are (I think im right in saying that is your proposed vampire?)
