Hey, I didn't jump on any bandwagon >_< If I had I'd have finished making it by now. If I did jump on any bandwagon, my horse ran off..... And it's not incomplete because it's going to be great, it's incomplete because I can't make up my mind on anything. But I agree it might not be a opportune time to create an RP. Thought I think if you wanted to, then you could make a 1~2 chapter RP and throw it in somewhere in Ekarode. (Until your characters join up with the main army |

I've been planning a RP for a while now, I even came up with a continent and lore and factions an everything - then everyone decided to make a rp so I'm either not going to do this till some of the others quieten down a bit or until my EF campaign finishes (if zoiboi and jilo would post damn them) anyway, I thought I'd drop the idea in, its still in early development, I'm not gonna make a topic for it or anything but it exists in theory. Heres the map:![]() Cordelia: A nation of chivalry, tradition and knights in shining armour. Ruled over by King Alexander VII, this prosperous nation is full of lush landscapes and glorious sunshine. The nation is at war with Enxnet because of a scheme devised by Vanyr, involving trickery and deceit to weaken both nations for attack. Enxnet: A nation of technology, machinery and siege engines. Ruled by King Garreth, a slightly mad alchemist, this nation is full of workshops and busy industrial towns. They are again at war with Cordelia due to Vanyr's scheming. Vanyr: A nation of mountains and darkness. Ruled by a council of elders, consisting of a Druid, a Necromancer, a Barbarian and a Sniper, all of varying mindsets but all focused on one objective - self benefit. This nation lays webs of trickery over rivals in order to further expand itself, and has already absorbed several smaller nations - creating a lot of public unrest. Gaesia - A mysterious rocky island, with a volcano at its' centre, this uninhabited land has repelled all attempts to colonise with its' harsh climate and terrain and there are rumours of dragons ruling the land. The Islands of the Fae: A forested series of Islands connected with closely guarded waterways, these islands are home to the elves, a reclusive race who keep largely to themselves unless threatened from outsiders, when they attack with full strength and crush those who would descrate their homes. So there it is. Now that I've written it out it seems very long, perhaps I do need to make a topic soon. |

Arghh not another RP.... Just kidding, it's a nice mapand the country descriptions seem nice and clear. Although.... Damn this repetition of five countries. Though the elves worry me, will they just be an alternative to being human, or will they have their own class tree/special class? Am I right in guessing it's based on FE's class system? |

Although I do not object to RPS I dont see why everyone feels the need to make one, im actualy reluctant to join another one as I'm already getting confused by the ones I'm in. There also, no offence to all that have made them, is verry little variation between them. All of the plots involve a war between countries due to trickery and deciet, all of them involve five countries, and all of them have only one or two main powers. I'm not directly critisising you SA but just my thoughts and observations. |

@ Aya - I wasn't going to have elves as a playable race, because that would just confuse things @ Gangreen - I'm not sure thats entirely true, Undying's rp isn't hugely based on a war between countries unless I've missed something, and I never said that the plot in this would have a lot to do with the trickery and deceit of Vanyr. As for the too many RPs point hence the ' I'm either not going to do this till some of the others quieten down a bit or until my EF campaign finishes' |

Still it will have the same base, the story may be different but the way it comes about will be the same, same classes, same sort of interaction, and same fight-pause-fight-pause plot style. |

What I think he's getting at is the similarity on the focus of the Rp's. I too have noticed how alot of RPs seem to focus on countries at war, but hey, look at Fire Emblem, pretty much every game was based on war. Or getting the fire emblem to win a war. And most of them I assume had some darker power which often used deceit. In relation I do see Gans perspective on them being similar. An RP is essentially bound by very little, and most of the current RP's seem to run on character interaction and battles. I personally find battles boring when written in text. I mean there's good ways to write it, I just don't think it works in an RP. (Especially when it comes up as the main aspect in every chapter) So I understand what Gan means, and I agree with what he's saying. Sure there'll be a different plot. But how big is the plot in the RP's? I doubt it matters much whether your blasting bandits in a mountain, or revenants in a forest. I'd like to point out, that I'm not telling you what your RP is going to be like, (and neither was Gangreen, I think) it's just most war-based RP's tend to go along that line, and playing 3 RP's nevermind 4 seems ridiculous. That said just because there's an RP doesn't mean one has to join it. |

All true, and if I sounded affronted I didn't intend to - I'll take into account the fact that the same old structure is getting a bit repetetive and try to come up with something a bit more inventive; limited of course by the format. I might make a choice tree - and try and let the players have a little more say in what they do next; e.g. do you carry on to the big city you are heading for or investigate the little farm just off the road. But perhaps a bit more significant. Also I'll try to make it so it isn't fight, talk, fight, talk, ooh theres a new person, talk, fight etc. P.S. I'm going to make a topic for this seeing as there is so much discussion going on and I don't want to spam the Tavern |
