I make a grid like the one on this map. You could use the first map and paste the tiles over them, making each fit the grid, then add the sprites. I then paint the grid white and unite the tiles together to form a gridless map (you may skip that part).

When I made my map I was stuck with paint as well, not realy very good but it can be done |

Hmm out of curiosity when people say things like "It's not very good because I did it in paint" "It can be done in paint, just not well" "It sucks because I had to do it in paint" I'm assuming this refers to MSPaint, the program most(if not all) computers start with. If paints so bad, I'm assuming there's a superior program to use. And I really doubt Photoshop could do any better in map making, (and possibly mug splicing) Hence my question what alternative programs are there? Also, I don't see a problem with using Paint, alot of great work I've seen has been done on paint. And looking at MoL's maps I don't see any real difference between those actually used in the game. While mine are a bit rough, there not so bad that you need to cover your eyes (I hope) Anyway my latest map Baldia Castle from Langrisser. I've decided to scrap the FE style of killing space with walls 3 blocks high. Since it takes too much space and the map below I think it good enough to use in a one off RP session.

Cool map, Aya.  I like it.And I agree with you, that maps on Paint can turn out really well; the only complaint with it, would be it takes a few more seconds (maybe minutes) of time. |

great, I see what you mean with paint I use it but there are better programes that change all of one colour at once, which is great for recolouring or let you into mor detail |

Indeed, I wouldn't be surprised if such a program existed, but I've never heard of it, surely it doesn't come with the computer. |
