It is suppose to hit tomorrow since it is April Fool's Day. I am not sure if I should go on the internet or not... Or maybe even avoid the internet. What are your plans about this?

Even although this is really serious. Well, I'm already here. I heard about this from a friend today. I'm running a scan now just in case I got something. Update your antivirus, run a test, go to an antivirus website (like avasst), open Windows Defender and Update, check password security, among other things and if all run smoothly, then you're fine. Edit- Check Windows Update - there should be a "Malicious Software Removal Tool" as one of the updates. Download it and use it if you have the worm. Pessimistic Old Hag Posts: 249 Group: Global Moderators Member #15 Joined: Sep 23, 2008	Hmm while I suppose it is best to be prepared for the worst, as far as I'm concerned the conficker worm is a stupid April Fools joke, and hence I will continue using my default virus protector (If it had one, Norton I think). Plus I could use an excuse for a new computer anyway. That said I have seen people claim that they have been infected, but on the other hand I've seen more people say it's rubbish.

Some people thought every computer would be at risk once they got on yesterday. In reality, the worm's new variant is a month old, and you were at the same risk of getting it as you were at the beginning of March. Just get that Malicious Software Removal Tool downloaded and keep your passwords and antiviruses up to date.
