"Well, here we are folks!" Sonea said, gesturing at a bustling street ahead. The market was like that of any other race, but at the same time entirely different. People still jostled and shouted over each other, and the stall owners still made it out that their goods were worth so much more than they were selling them for - but it all seemed to have an air of joking about it, as if it was a game that everybody was in on. Some of the haggling was less than fierce and the stall owners were often less concerned about drawing in new customers than arranging their goods so they looked juuuust right. Sonea handed out a handful of coins to those who wanted them "Here, consider this meal on the house." she said. "Ho, travellers!" called a nearby store owner "You must be hungry after your long journey, please come - taste my goods, breads of all kinds - spiced bread, honeybread, pastries! Anything to satisfy your..." he said, before being cut off by a rival "Don't listen to him, what you need is a good hot drink, I have teas, coffees, hot drinks of every variety!" Sonea laughed "I shall meet you back here in, shall we say - half an hour? I for one like the sound of that honeybread!" she said, before gliding off with Aaron. The other rangers also dispersed, though they stayed surreptisciously nearby - close enough to be on hand in case of trouble. |
