It's badly acted, the pacing is awful and none of the characters are remotely interesting, not even Obama's favourite Omar. I watched it waiting for anything to happen that I cared about but the characters are so cliched and one dimensional it never came. I don't know if the other 3 seasons are better but I do know I for one won't be watching them Its written by the same guy that wrote Homicide: Life On The Street, and it shows. Its basically just Homicide with more swearing...well it is HBO so might as well go with it. An example of the great writing As I say I watched 2 seasons, allowing room for the hype to wear down with season 1 and then sticking with it incase its just a slow burner and I can honestly say I have no idea why this is so highly rated. When it was first on tv in America it had awful viewing figures and was almost cancelled all 5 seasons so its popularity has come from dvd viewers and lets be honest dvd sales were responsible for bringing Family Guy back so thats shows how bad a system thats is I've tried to read reviews to see if I've just missed something but the mob mentality a lot of the fans seem to have taken is the same as Matrix fans. It must be too deep and complex for me to follow, I must not be intelligent enough to follow its multifaceted stories. Or maybe it's just because I've seen it all before in better tv shows such as...oh hang on Homicide Don't believe the hype. If you feel the need to though, if after 4 episodes you still don't care then give up, it doesn't get better Edited by hobbes, Jul 2 2009, 11:03 PM.

But like you I've read so many glowing reviews I've been tempted to try it out. Maybe I'll give it a miss after all... Please don't mention Family Guy. I hate that show so much it makes me want to bite my computer until my teeth bleed. I just don't get why people find it funny. Utter turgid trash.
