Contributor Posts: 233 Group: Members Member #5 Joined: Mar 10, 2008 XBox Live Gamertag hobbes06 Wii Code 0118 6981 4565 6325	thought spiff might have put a review of this up by now but here goes my opinion on it anyways. an excellent first attempt and probably the best fighting game out just now on the consoles, although with fight night 4 out soon i'm not sure how long that will last (i prefer the total control thumbstick punches to pushing a button) the stand up fighting is pretty basic with your fighting style deciding if you will stand off and pick off the guy with high kicks or get in close and punch, knee or throw elbows. on the beginner setting the head kicks seem to be the way to go as almost everyone goes down after a good few kicks the game comes into its own on the ground as most other fighting games don't have this aspect then probably doing anything would make it stand out, however you can tell a lot of time as gone into mapping the buttons to make submission and transitions easy to set up but hard to master sadly though its not perfect and while this may be down to more the ufc than the game it just all seems a bit random at times, you can dominate a fight for 4 rounds and then be hit once and knocked out and as i say while this does happen in the real sport its a bit of a let down to be so cruelly punished if the ai decides its had enough. i don't actually mind the one hit ko as i say it does happen but if i've kicked a guy square on the head over 50 times then i think he should be down long before he gets the chance to punch me once. the movement is also a little sluggish and never seems as fast as it could be, fighters get gassed too quickly irregardless of stamina and a lot of the fights will be backing up until you get your energy back up so you dont walk into the aforementioned one hit ko in short its a great first effort and a great platform to build in the future. the few little problems dont ruin it, they just make it a game you are less likely to go back to after you have won the title. its definetly a better multi-player than single player game
