Rainbow Six Vegas 2

This is, without a doubt, the must-have title of the month.

It's released in the States on the 18th but we get it two days later.

We'll try and get a review up when we finally get our grubby paws on it but in the meantime here's some info you might find titilating...

XBox.com - with a breakdown of the new features and some screenshots.

Wikipedia Article - fairly detailed history of the game and it's features.

free bonus time again

load up the game, select extras from the menu.

select comcast gift

enter the code Comcast Faster for a new map.

Then once you have done that one, go back into extras, then select exclusive content.

if you don't already have a ubisoft account for ubi.com you will need to create one. if you already have one linked to your GT you will skip this step.

this allows you to download the new map The Streets

EDIT - the first code works on the PS3 too. not sure about the second map though

haven't tried the single player yet, I've been killed lots of times in terrorist hunt though.

But on the plus side, you earn XP for the PEC mode in both single player, terrorist hunt & multiplayer.

& you can co-op the whole story mode by the looks of things - oh hell yeah

You have to get it. It's very good and a (slight) improvement on the first one. While the sprint function is a much need addition, other advancements are superiour character definition and more elaborate maps and gameplay (the screams in the recreation centre are chilling...). I think the gore factor may have been slightly increased but I'm not sure. Terrorist hunts can now be done with your two man team and equipment and gear from the first game is unlocked faster.
However, many of the problems from the first game are still present. Your reaction times are very slow when coming out of cover, terrorists appear as if by magic from all angles and your two man team are still morons without a brain between them and frequently cause your death unless you stick them far away in a corner out of harms way. There's also a weird bug where if your teammate stands next to you you get a weird view inside his head complete with grinning teeth and roving eyeballs. A bit bizarre.
I also can't find the face mapping function which was a groovy aspect of the first one.
So pretty much more of the same with added bits. It's still the best title on the 360 IMO and a highly enjoyable if occasionally frustrating game. Some patching required quickly though. And for god sake will they please add a melee attack function!?!
