Zera started cooking. He wasn't an amazing cook, but he knew what he was doing at the very least. He boiled the ingredients and began to thicken the broth. Adding strips of meat he stole from his grandfather. He went through all the steps as best he could. Soon a delicious smell began to billow from the pot, and a gentle tuft of steam began to flow upwards. He fanned at the steam gently to disperse it, even steam could give away someone's location if there was enough. Zera reached into his pocket and pulled out a satchel of spice, he only had a tiny bit, and he knew his grandfather would lock him up to die if he found he had stolen such an expensive product. He sprinkled a bit in and stirred some more, the delicious scent intensifying. Zera worked through the recipe as best he could, finally stirring it a last time and sipping it. It was delicious, warm, spicy and tasty. The chunks of meat and vegetable sat well together.

He turned to Zamia and smiled. "Its a healthy soup, a bit spicy though." He said offhandedly, grabbing a wooden bowl from his bag and pouring her some. He handed it to her with a spoon. "Its hot." He warned with a bright smile and began to pour himself some. He blew on it a few times, taking a sip and sighing contentedly. He loved good food, and it was the only dish he knew how to make so he was proud of it. He smiled brightly at her. "Its good huh?" He asked rhetorically and resumed eating. The two sat and ate for some time, emptying the bowl completely. He was pleased with his work. Though the moment that came to an end he realized he had much more work to do. She needed to rest and hopefully the ointment and food will help her heal. He thought about risking staying out tonight. He knew that if Devall woke from his drunken stupor and Zera was nowhere to be found there would be a problem.

He closed his eyes and thought about it, turning to Zamia and looking at her. She was beautiful, that was the first thought in his head. He shook his head and blushed. He decided to stay in that moment. He'd stay out here and keep an eye on her. Making sure she got some rest. She needed to heal, and she was a far higher priority than he himself was. He had sworn to take care of her, to take her in and away from the one dangerous man taking care of her. He nearly lost himself in thought again. He shook his head and got to his feet. "Get some rest..." He said finally, getting up and tending the fire. He began to set up tarps around the campsite, his mind focused, his eyes sharp, and his heart pounding. He felt his time was coming, it wouldn't be long now. He'd show the world... he'd show them all...

Zamia grew hungrier as the smell of cooking meat fanned out through the camp. She watched with interest as Zera cooked the meat, studying the satchel of ingredients he brought out for a moment before it disappeared again. She took another deep breath and the smell of the food made her mouth water. She'd never smelled anything so good. The food at Fay's home had been good but it didn't have the same type of smell. She carefully took the bowl of soup and the spoon as they were pressed into her hands, gathering some of the soup onto the spoon before taking a bite. The soup tasted delicious and she had trouble staying civil as she quickly crammed mouthful after mouthful down her throat. The soup was a bit warm but cool enough it didn't burn her throat as she gulped it down. In little less then a minute she'd devoured everything solid and was gulping down the broth without using the spoon.

Zera's question received only a silent nod as she finished her serving. When the bowl was drained she let out a deep breath and set the spoon and bowl by the pot and layed on her back, her thoughts going a little fuzzy as she was comfortably full. She'd never eaten so much at once, especially not of something good. She felt lethargic from her meal but slowly sat up after a moment to see Zera staring at her with a bit of blush on his face. She felt her own face grow hot but not quite enough to show. What was he thinking about that made him blush? " Ummm.......Is there a reason you keep looking at me? " she asked him curiously, looking down to see if she'd spilled any of the soup on her new outfit. She hadn't. That only left her more confused

His response was less then helpful on the matter and she shrugged as he layed out the tarps and layed in a patch of grass , stretching before laying on her back and starting up at the sky. The stars were beginning to come out and the sky had a orange-ish tint to it as the sun began to disappear over the horizon, overhead one of Aria's moons began to come into view though she didn't know which one. With the contented sleepiness after her meal she found it all to easy to meet Zera's requests. One moment she was thinking about what'd happen tomorrow and the next her eyes were closed and she had rolled onto her stomach, her breathing steady as she slipped off into a peaceful sleep.
