Cato had been wondering many things since he was little. Most of the he had found the answer to, but one thing he had wondered for a very long time was why no one could discover the mystery of Ario Lake. he had been staring into it's depths for wo hours now, without ever stepping a toe into the water. It was hard for him to think of anyone he knew that would come along with him, and he wasn't going to ask the Alpha, or the Alphess for that matter. they probably had more important things to do than satisfy his thirst for knowledge. Hasn't anyone thought of using water and wind magic to get down there? By taking the wind down with you, you can breath. By condensing the water below you, you can practically stand on it. Then just have the water proppel you in whatever direction you want. He had been thinking this same thought for the two hours he had been there, and the more he thought about it, the more sense it made. Quickly, he encased himself in a ball of wind and dived. He had enough compress air with him to last him two days. He didn't expect to need this much but hey, the other option was to risk carbon dioxide poisoning or drown. Not much light in those facts. Cato was about to dive deeper when he heard a large splash and turned around. |

Fatum flew low over the ground. it had been days since he had been hunting, not for food of course but for more intelligent prey. A griffin was the usual but a dragon would do if necessary. what better place to go then the Ario Valley home of the Regathor griffin clan. As he approached the lakeside he spotted a small pathetic griffin staring into the water. he quietly headed in that direction, only to realize the rat was diving into the water Damn you maggot he said speeding up. he dove in behind the "maggot" teeth barred ready to kill. the adrenaline was begging to surge, the kill-craving was getting uncontrollable, he would taste blood and he knew it...

what Cato saw almost made his blood run cold. He couldn't think any worse a fate, partly for the obvious reasons partly because he was too busy thinking of a way out of this. He knew about this dragon. he was there when he saw it kill dozens of clan members. Cato was too young to know the details, but he was intelligent even then. he could tell that this was an efficiant blood-thirsty killer. He could see it in his eyes and in the way he fought. No, running away is not an option. It would be the last thing Cato ever did. Cato remembered this dragons technique though. when he used magic, it would be Ice, Water , and deception. Cato had a magnificent memory. photographic to be precise. Cato couldn't use his water magic against him, he'd just counter it back. he couldn't use electricity, he'd get shocked too (being under water). He could use wind but it wouldn't be too powerful as he was using it already. this left earth. Cato thought all of this in less than an instant and immediatly trapped the demonic dragon in a small, relatively, rock encloser. he also emptied the water and left air, he wasn't one to kill intelligent life. He only killed for food. Pluss, he knew that if this dragon was part of a clan, either of them dying would surely cause war. Cato hefted the rock onto the surface. replenished his air supply, and dived back down. |

The immediate reaction of the griffin was surprising to Fatum. Though its reaction was foolish, as it only angered him. in response to this witty counter attack he pulled water from the lake into the small gaps in between the grains of rock and, using his ice magic made it freeze and thaw then freeze again at a rapid pace. the rock soon weakend and began to crack, one swift shove broke his rocky prison in two, leaving Fatum to return to his "hunt". regaining his sicking smile he returned to the lake shore, using his deception magic he located his "prey" he quickly overtook it's mind, sending bloodcurdling images of terrible creatures and monsters with bloodshot eyes and rows of razor sharp teeth. at the same time he began to mess with the water, swaying it from side to side, twirling it, making a storm of sorts. then it occurred to him that he should put up an effort to avoid letting the other regithor clan members ear him. He dismissed the thought an said to himself, let them come dammit, I'll rip out their insides and use their entrails to hang their lifeless corpses from trees. he continued his work on the current target, dreaming up sick ways of displaying it's hide to the rest of it's pitiful clan of pests. you'll all end up at my feet with your blood inmy hands, one day he sneered. |

Cato realized his mistake when he heard the crack through the water. sound after all travels faster under water. he started searching his brain but he couldn't get these images out of his head. He understood with a jolt that it was the dragon causing them. Quick and effective, that was how one could describe this opponent. If it weren't for the fact he was hunting griffins, Cato would be admiring his cunning. Soon the water was frothing back and forth and Cato knew he was trying to be forced onto the surface, or die in the water. AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! Cato just saw an image he knew would stick with him for the rest of his life. Two black griffins (apparently not from Regithor because of their scent) hunched over the bodies of two parent dragons on an Island. He could hear another dragon in pain. This must be an actual memory from that other dragon. He understood now why the dragon was like this, why he needed to kill. But kill food! Not intelligent life! In a fit of rage, Cato overcame his spell and used one of his more known combined attacks. Wow, three different magics at once doing four different things, my instructors would either kill me or praise me. He timed it right to have the swaying of the water increase the force of his attacks. By now his fur and feathers were swirling so much from the magic that they would work as a perfect cameoflage. Cato sent six pillars of electrified water out of the Earth in a ring around the dragon that arched to stop aerial escape (if this dragon could even spread his wings) and launched an even greater, more powerful piller out of the water aimed samck in the middle of the circle. Cato also made sure he had his full attention on his work. one slip-up would leave a gap for the dragon to take control of the water, and that could be the end. he decided it would be wise to take his bubble in an air tight chasm he could make in the side of the rock. that way if by some mirrical his attack was countered, it would have absolutely no effect on him. even water and ice can't break through currently magic reinforced stone. that makes five, hope you're not yelling at me dad. |

The small purple dragon walked aimlessly in the large valley, looking around for any dragons that might be out at the time. I wonder... Would Ragnarok be here...? she thought. Suddenly, she saw a large lake in the distance. I can look there, I suppose. She quickly broke into a run, unfolding her wings when she had gotten up enough speed. She flew effotlessly the rest of the way, maintaining her wind magic so the wind blew in her favor. Apocalypse landed soon after, touching down gently on the banks of the huge, deep lake. She tentatively walked to the edge and looked down into the water. It was deeper than any body of water she had seen before, excluding the ocean. The water was clear, but it was churning unusually. She looked down into the water again to see that something was under there, but the water obscured her vision. Getting an idea, she formed a small ball of light with her magic and solidified the outside, granting her a small lantern. She floated it down into the water, its light cutting through the depths easily. But then a large ball of rock was lifted out of the water by what was easily seen by magic. Apocalypse jumped back surprised. The ball of light disappeared when she lost her focus on it, but she had seen that something else was under the water. Whatever was in the ball of rock, it seemed to want to get out, because it was using magic to freeze water through the cracks of the rock. She stepped back, unsure of what to do. Finally, she called upon her wind magic to blow wind around herself, creating a kind of barrier that miight protect her from attacks that went astray. She knew that it would draw attention to her, but for some reason, she did not feel scared. Edited by EmeraldOx, Mar 3 2010, 10:45 PM.
