I’ve had this team for awhile now. It’s just that I’ve been switching everything, but Jirachi, Hariyama, and Zapdos. I think it’s in a solid line up now, and I need a good rating. It’s also weird because now all of a sudden I’ve been noticing all offensive teams. Bleh. The idea here is playing off the overall bulkyness of certain pokemon like Hariyama, and Gyarados, for switching in.
You’ll notice no walls at all. The team works together as each thing can block a certain threat. Zapdos and Snorlax just do a good enough job by themselves too anywhoo. The main problems right now is status for one, I gotta be real careful when something is throwing around Thunder Waves, as I have no Ground types.
What I’ve been thinking though is some sort of Resttalker. Zapdos, Hariyama, and Snorlax are all quite capable of doing a set like that. I’ve also been walled to death by Blissey with this team. I’ve got normal counters for her, but my special oriented guys do jack squat to her, which is why I’m considering Metal Sound on a couple of them.

I also might need Wish support badly as not too many things have recovery and each member takes a lot of abuse.

Meh, I can drop Snorlax and Zapdos if it really comes to that.

I'm gone for the weekend so my comments will be late.

Geno (Jirachi) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 120 HP/136 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- U-turn
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Psychic

When Ryo suggested this idea to me, I thought it sounded cool. But now that I’ve used it, my impression is totally different. It is awesome. People are caught off guard so much by this guy it’s ridiculous. Because of this sudden boost, he can outspeed normal counters of him (non-Scarf’d Garchomp), and stuff. He laughs as he OHKO’s Infernape’s thinking they’ll outspeed him. He is a very solid lead, and U-Turn makes it all the better. I should also note his typing and bulky stats make him so survivable too. Spiffy.

Spoon (Zapdos) @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/220 Def/36 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Hidden Power [Grass] / Metal Sound / Light Screen / Roar

Bulky Zapdos, one might argue this really isn’t offensive oriented, but he does his role enough for the team. For one him and Hariyama are like bread and butter. Thick Fat from Hariyama takes on Ice attacks, and his typing takes on Rock attacks. While Zapdos can switch in the odd flying attacks. This Zapdos’s role not exactly standard. In a warstory I was reading someone put Toxic over Thunderwave on Zapdos. It’s been very successful, it hits those grounds that think they can wall Zapdos when they realize it’s defensive. He can stall enough and pass the love around with it. Thunderbolt is fantastic on Zapdos. Hp Grass is for Swampert, but I see no reason for it too much when I have Toxic. Metal Sound is to help with the bane of this team, Blissey. She is the one that always switches in on Zapdos, and with Metal Sound I can force switches but that might be redundant with Toxic. Light Screen is nice team support. Roar is for if I decide to put Bullet Punch on Hariyama.
*Note* If I run Metal Sound on Zapdos then I won’t put it on Magnezone*

Buddy (Hariyama) (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch
- Force Palm
- Whirlwind / Bullet Punch

First thing is that if I put a phasing on Snorlax, or Zapdos then this guy will have Bullet Punch. This is a fantastic pokemon with bulky Hp, and a massive attack stat. He can switch into a lot and Knock Off pesky items that bother me a ton. This is my only guy that really scares away Blissey though. Ice Punch is for dragons, and to hit Gliscor, and other oddball guys. Force Palm over Cross Chop because of its superior ACC, and the chance of para is great, for this team, it’s even better too.

The Sea and the Cake (Snorlax) (♀) @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 14 HP/196 Atk/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Body Slam
- Selfdestruct / Whirlwind
- Fire Punch / Fire Blast / Rest
- Crunch

Help? I threw this guy on over past things (Suicune, Cressilia, Togekiss) to soak up special hits more, as I don’t need Gengar and Azelf slapping me in the face. First problem with this guy is his EV spread. I’m fine with the maxed out SpDef,, but the rest of the EV’s are problematic. I just chose a lefties number, and put the rest in attack. The EV’s are random and it’s a problem. The rest of the moves are simple. Body Slam can also cause para and is STAB’d. Crunch hits Cressilia and whatnot hard. Fire Punch / Blast is for Skarmony, Bronzong, blah. I might need Rest on him though to soak up Status or something.

Rodeo Randy (Magnezone) @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 92 HP/76 Def/88 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Metal Sound / Thunder Wave
- Substitute / Magnet Rise

I’ve got two options for him. One is to do Metal Sound and Substitute to take on the inevitable Blissey, but I’m not to happy or sure to do it. Otherwise it’d be Thunder Wave and Magnet Rise. Thunder Wave helps the team a ton, and Magnet Rise can screw over any EQ’er that switches in on him. Magnezone hits very hard with a beastly SPAtk, and has fantastic typing and bulkyish stats. Hp Ice is to hit dragons. He can switch into a lot, and adds a ton for the team. He also takes out common annoyances like Skarmony and paves the way for Gyarados.

Spanky (Gyarados) (♂) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 212 HP/16 Atk/180 Def/100 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Taunt
- Waterfall
- Earthquake

As Ruesap pointed out Gyarados and Magnezone resist every type in the game. He complements him well. This is the first time I’ve actually ever tried Gyarados, and he is awesome. I find this guy switching in a Blissey who switches in on Magnezone, and I Taunt and DD up. This guy is essential late game. His bulky stats, and decent typing allow him to stay in for a lot of time. I went with Earthquake and Waterfall, so I could have a decent STAB, and Eq hits a ton. I’ve found it not to be the most effective, and to take on things like Heracross more, maybe Ice Fang and Stone Edge might do him more justice?

I've been using a Stalk Machamp, but a bit more bulky version. That's always useful, but Hariyama gets Knock Off, so it's your choice really. Machamp scares Blissey off more though. I see somewhat of a StoneQuake weak though, with Hariyama being and Snorlax being the only ones to resist that. Other then that, I can't really see a problem with the team.

I figured I just add in Wish in Jirachi's moveslot somewhere. I'm thinking over U-Turn, it might hurt be when I feel like switching out of Dark pokemon, but who knows. It will help late game though, when my opponent knows it's choiced and switch to their counter before I use a move. I use Wish, and their counter is useless as I switch and my next switch in receives benefits.
